I think we take down an overrated domer team and open 4-0.

The real slog to me on the schedule is TCU, OU and K-state back to back.
That's some subtle shade throwing right there.

I'll remember that. We can't beat you in Stillwater, but Austin is a different matter ;)

.@BruceFeldmanCFB: J.T. Barrett said he grew up like most kids in TX QBs wanting to be Vince Young. The UT offer never came but he's glad how it's worked out.

He may not be a finalist, but Texas wanted Amari Cooper real bad. Ironically enough, they were insisting that he commit as a QB when he'd never played the position in high school.

It was always assumed that the QB in the 2013 class would be between Swoopes and Barett. They chose Swoopes because he had better size I guess, and Barrett tore his ACL in high school.

edit: Actually I remember that Barett was the better passer, but Swoopes was the better runner and a VY starter kit. AHAHAHAH Fuck you Mack Brown.

Interesting fact: If every QB that wanted to go to Texas went to Texas, Texas would have nothing but QBs.

It's less about "many good quarterbacks want to go to Texas but never get offers" and more about "Texas is probably in the best position for QB recruiting in the country but they've somehow come out of it with Case McCoy and David Ash as their best options."

We put all of our eggs in Garrett Gilbert's basket. He was supposed to be our QB for 4 years and we know how that saga ended. Ash was a serviceable QB probably on par with an avg. Texas QB from our history. We'll never strike gold twice again like we did with Vince and Colt.

This is going to come in handy.

I feel like USC, UCLA, Texas, Florida and Florida State should never have a problem at QB and yet Texas has been awful at the position for awhile. Florida has taken a downturn since Tebow left. And UCLA had to go out of state to solve their problems.

It's amazing when you think about it.

We can't see "Others receiving votes" in the CFP poll correct? I like to imagine Marshall was ranked #26 last week, and today's meeting went a follows.

Member 1: "Well Minnesota was #25 this past week and lost, so I guess we drop them and move Marshall in to their spot..."
Member 2: "Do we really have to? Is that in the rules?"
Member 1: "Well, technically we can do whatever we want"
Member 2: " Then fuck it, lets keep Minnesota where they are at #25. I don't want any mid-majors dirtying up our poll"
Member 1: "All in favor of keeping Minnesota at #25 and leaving Marshall out say "Aye" "
Members 1-13: "Aye!"
Member 1: "It's settled then, Minnesota stays put at 25."

God bless America.

Draxal - Did you look at that Rutgers Sorority Shake It Off video? I think that's the first useful thing the Rutgers Rivals board has provided me with in years.

Saban said he's tried to call Will Muschamp this week a couple of times but Muschamp has been busy. "I don't care what's happened and their circumstance; he did a really good job in my opinion of making that program better ... I know he'll do well wherever he decides to go."

Thank you for your service Bobby Williams...

Was so pissed he stupidly put his foot out of bounds, because I wanted that run to count.

Well yeah, it sucked that he stumbled back a little and out of bounds when he knocked the defender back. If he hadn't stepped out of bounds it would have changed an already impressive run to one of the best of the year.

Matt Hinton - Has Stanford's window closed?

That discussion about QBs last night has me putting something together on QBs and one interesting thing I had forgotten. The 2003 Pro Style QB rankings for Rivals.com had the following QBs:

2. Chris Leak
6. Jamarcus Russell
10. Brady Quinn
16. Matt Flynn
25. Matt Ryan
39. Joe Flacco

That doesn't even include dudes who had good college careers and no NFL career like Sam Keller!

In 2006 there were 6 3 star QBs who have gone on to the NFL. Albeit only 3 of them are really good NFL players and 1 of them isn't a QB anymore.

Is this the last UAB home game? Shame what Alabama BOT has done to destroy that program for no legitimate reason. Seems petty.

They always seemed like an on-campus stadium away from really taking off and growing as a program.

Oregon lost at home as a 22 point favorite. No fucking way they deserve to be #1 (or #2 behind undefeated FSU).

Frankly, it seems nobody is truly great this year. But I cannot believe how much shit FSU gets despite the fact that they are the only P5 team that has managed to win every game they played. I cannot believe that doesn't count for shit in the eyes of the committee. It's nonsense. At a certain point, the fact that FSU has come from behind so many times should speak to their toughness. Nobody else has managed that.

EVERYBODY is worse than 2013 FSU. Why should FSU be punished for that more? And most teams are worse than they were last year. 2014 Oregon is worse than 2013 Oregon. 2014 Bama is worse than 2013 Bama. Why do they not get the same treatment?

We lost because our offensive line was completely decimated by injuries, and the committee took that into consideration. Since then we've pretty much dominated.

There's no way our 2013 was better. At this point in the season Mariota was injured and we were about to lose BADLY to Arizona and barely get by Oregon State.
