So I was right that they knew Yuu's real power.
3 episodes left -- wonder what will happen next...

By the way:
They keep hinting Yuu x Nao. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Ok, now everything makes sense with the additional story information on how everything worked. Now, did Sala have that same ability? Interesting that they are still toying with Nao x Yuu, but not moving forward ay all.

Great episode. I like that everything paid off.

It's nice that until now the big brother and little sister stories appear to have been concluded. This leaves three whole episodes for other stuff. I guess Yuu's relationship with Tomori will be the most significant part of them. I doubt they're bother any more with Tomori's brother(he'll probably recover in the end and that will be it) but I guess scientists or something will attack the school. Maybe we'll even see a repetition of time jumps, from Yuu this time.

Also, I loved the moment they scared that annoying crazy girl. Her face when she left was priceless. I was afraid that she'd kill someone and they'd had to repeat the time jumps, but everything went smoothly. Yuu's power is overpowered after all.

Maybe this time we'll see his ability's real consequences, as a 5-seconds use isn't really awful for something that steals other abilities.

The scientists will make their move in the last few episodes. Yuu's stockpiling of powers will come in handy.

I wonder if Shunsuke knows anything about "Charlotte".

Huh? Are you referring to big bro? He explained most of it during the flashback part.

Something bad is still going to happen and Sala is the key. I'm calling it now.

I think he meant how Yuu remembered the things that happened in the first time travel Shunsuke did. Also, I wonder what this means for Nao's brother now. Is he going to be cured by Sala again?

Really enjoyable episode once again. I like that they explained everything neatly, plus that scene where they gathered the students in that room to discuss plans on fighting back reminded me so much of Angel Beats. I was half expecting Yuri to show up :P

Yup, seeing that huge group of kids gather + the music during that flashback I was like "...what show am I watching"

Wait, so if his original power is the ability to loot abilities, why is he able to control people? I think the show tried to explain it but I didn't get it.

Yuu bursting out of the locker room was pretty sweet, I liked how he was instantly able to use his Collapse power without any training lol.

Definitely a good episode. It's nice when things actually work out.

Also Nao's "Such a turn-off!" is always an enjoyable running gag.

I also lol'd at the whole part where Ayumi assumed about Yu and Nao, Nao's reaction being the same as before, and Yu having an expression of, "Welllllll...."

Loved this ep. So far, the pacing is so much better than Angel Beats was IMO. Going to be quite interesting to see how the rest of the series works out w Nao and Yu.

I fear for Nao's life at this point, not kidding. Something bad is going to happen.. That was waaaay to happy of an episode.

Would love for those two to finally hook up though, but we'll see what happens.

It's not a KEY anime if we're not bawling our eyes out at some point. Or hey, maybe Jun Maeda finally wants everyone to be happy in life :p.

Please be.

Please be happy? We got our "happy" episode too early with three episodes left. Another event is definitely going to happen in the next two. It's going to be with Nao, Yuu, or big bro. Sala already foreshadowed the whole thing. In this new time line, he hasn't met her yet or "saved" Nao's brother. He was trying to get that across to Nao when telling her he was returning from the future. Something is up and it sucks..

Shh

Your negative is brings this thread down. Go away please.

It's a side effect. He loots powers by hijacking the body for 5 seconds.

So, is it just me, or did it make zero sense that Yuu knew about
that yandere girl
? He didn't have occasion to learn about it originally, since it happened out of sight of everyone.

He didn't notice that girl the first time she visited his house, but cought her look/disposition the second time. He knew something happened for his sister to use the power (unknowingly) and guessed it was her, then found he was right when he saved her.

Or maybe there was an investigation that didn't happen on screen.

By yandere girl, I'm assuming you meant the one who can knock people out? He knew about her in the other timeline, they all knew each other even before the whole earthquake incident happened at the lab. Shichino was already calling him a siscon before we first see them together.

EDIT: wow I'm stupid hahah, you meant the psychopath. Yeah I was wondering about that too, how did he even know that she was going to be threatened by someone in the first place

Whats more he knew exactly where to hide. How did he know to be in that exact locker? And what if the butterfly effect had made the confrontation happen elsewhere?

is this one of those anime series where the main guy is stupid and the main girl is always in a bad mood telling him what to do?

that must be the most over-used archetype of main characters nowadays

Called magic brah.

actually we can logic most of this out with science and off screen investigations.
science for determining cause of death is pretty darn good, good enough to know that the little sister likely died from falling from a high place before getting crushed.

previously the one that tried to cut her had survived the fall, she could have easily been brought in to find out what was going on and the school used something like a telepath to find out what actually happened, and at some point the main character was told what had happened.

though I suppose we don't need the science of her falling with the second thing :P

either way finally caught up and while I am not minding it as a big picture, I feel the beginning could have been done way better. There should have been more scenes with the little sister and her friends (can't believe I am saying that as I still don't like the little sister :P) to show a little bit more that the one girl didn't like the little sister and thus set up that scene better as it lacked any real impact as it was because it felt so forced.

spoilered because i can :P

Re: The people 'explaining' Yuu's unexplained knowledge. When you have to twist yourself into a pretzel to explain theoretical off camera events with the level of detail and luck Yuu displayed in this episode...this is what is called "hand waving" when the show does it. The show didn't even try to explain it; that's why it's a plot hole.

For the record, my guess is as follows: it's an artefact from an earlier draft of the story that they didn't know how to get rid of when actually putting it on screen so they took a chance on "well, the audience might conflate their knowledge with that of the characters'."

What could have happened is that Yuu was probably supposed to fail because of his lack of knowledge about Ayumi's school life and friends and have to try again. But they couldn't fit that in the run time cleanly so they cut it and had him succeed on the first attempt, but made this change late enough that they couldn't fix that Yuu didn't know about the psycho girl. So they just made him know anyway without explanation.

So is this is a one and done series or is there a possibility of a 2nd season?

it should be a one and done like Angel Beats, but it's not impossible that we see more content from this series if it is successful, like Angel beats :P

but it should all wrap up in the next 3 episodes with a bittersweet ending.

Ah, thought as much. Well hopefully we do get extra content afterwards!

So, many things happened....

RIP Pooh. Is he going to the world of Angel Beats now?

2 episodes to go. Still hoping we get Yuu and Nao together by the end.

Episode 11

Man this English, "HEY TAKE THIS", "SHIT THAT WASN'T NECCESARY" between this and the songs Charlotte is the most Engrish anime of this season.

Yuu's using his abilities is kinda cool, although it ends up in a lot of screaming, which I didn't mind.

That ending though, Kumagami saving the Yuu X Nao OTP, he's the real hero of this episode.

Or did she die as well

And with the reveal of the comet my initial theory is as good as confirmed

Don't know if I should feel honored that I have the ability to predict Meada's wlld logical leaps.

To be fair I changed my mind a few times, it's actually really interesting to read through this thread, remember when we thought that there was some mysterious group of kids that was supposed to be evil, they actually turned out to be pretty nice.

Pooh best guy for saving Nao. Hmm, to be honest, I expected more continuous final episodes. The story with those guys is apparently finished. We still haven't seen what the big Karate guy is doing, and the stabbing girl seems to be alive, but other than them, the apparent brains of the organization are out.

I'm still not sure what will follow. I don't want to see more scientists/terrorists hunting them. Also, we got our explanation of Charlotte, there are no unfinished business any more, other than the Nao-Yuu thing and the truth behind ZHIEND's singer(if there's any, of course). Also, I hope they won't make the big brother evil. He seemed somewhat pushy, attempting to protect Yuu, and Pooh's death can certainly make things bad. It would be a "nice" follow-up but I think I'd prefer a boring, good ending over that.
