Derek Laud, supposedly. Though the speculation only highlights the problems with legal masking of names - it can be paradoxically damaging if the alleged person is in fact innocent. Which is, I'm sure, the case here.

Whether those rumours are true or not, I doubt they're the Newsnight ones.
Probably so they don't get sued for libel. Newsnight haven't aired anything yet. They still might not if an injunction is sought against them.

Certainly a very real possibility; as I'd implied earlier, I'd hope Newsnight have something more substantial than that (I do note that the original tweet was "is" not "is alleged to be", too; all I'm seeing there is an allegation, unless there's more). If nothing else, I'd be absolutely certain that given the position they're in, Newsnight *really* want to do this *right*.
A site which has been notorious in recent months for people getting arrested for doing stupid things.

There've been a few things, I think, but the only thing that springs to mind is his alibi for the Hamiltons over their assault allegations.
I can remember mutterings along these lines when he went on BB, but not exactly what they were.
