Where can I find a good burrito at Southern California?
Not trying to attack you, but the fact that they are calling it "Wood Pulp" and literally a quote from the article stating this rather boldly
Where can I find a good burrito at Southern California?
Yeah, about that....Qdoba is way way better anyways
Uh huh
So they can't do what a hundred other fast food chains can do with no issues? What a fail
I'm not against this for any other reason than the texture sensation it leaves on pre-shredded cheese.
Clearly my joke was too nuanced for most people to understand. I was merely taking a jab at Chipotle's non-GMO stance and how there's a noticeable quality difference in freshly shredded vs. pre-shredded cheese.
It definitely won't be as good but hopefully will still be OK. From what the Bloomberg article on this says, they've gone back and forth over the years on whether tomatoes are chopped on location or at the central processing facilities. I almost always buy pre shredded cheese at the grocery store rather than shredding it myself so I can't really complain if they do it too.I dunno about pre-shredded and pre-chopped. It's hard to imagine those keeping as well or tasting as fresh, especially the tomatoes.
It's not like there anti-GMO stance makes a difference, especially when it comes to cheese of all things. Since the chemicals used to make cheeses in North America is 100% a GMO related product.
I honestly don't get the buzz around Chipotle. I went in Palm Springs this summer and it tasted no better or fresher than any other above-Taco-Bell tier of burrito place. Plus the shit is like 1000 calories so it's not like it's healthy or anything.
You can eat healthy at chipotle if you want.I honestly don't get the buzz around Chipotle. I went in Palm Springs this summer and it tasted no better or fresher than any other above-Taco-Bell tier of burrito place. Plus the shit is like 1000 calories so it's not like it's healthy or anything.
I don't think they ever claimed to be healthy. Their main schtick was always fresh ingredients and "socially responsible" sourcing of meats from pasture raised animals, etc.
What kind of chemicals?
It can be if you watch your macros.I honestly don't get the buzz around Chipotle. I went in Palm Springs this summer and it tasted no better or fresher than any other above-Taco-Bell tier of burrito place. Plus the shit is like 1000 calories so it's not like it's healthy or anything.
Why do I not see this PR disaster and corresponding lowering of quality leading to lower prices
Always like Qdoba more anyway. There is a new place that has been opening called Joe's, need to check that out.
What's this place called?
What a stupid move. One case of e-coli and now this? Even shitty fast food places slice their own tomatoes.
Don't you live in Boston? If so there's really no reason to go anywhere but Anna's.
I think that's what they call a death wishI have a sudden hankering for Chipotle.
I think that's what they call a death wish
I live in Washington too, where the outbreak started. Hmmm...it's certainly riskyI think that's what they call a death wish

I hope the wood pulp that helps keep the pre-shredded cheese from clumping is non-gmo!

So begins the slow descend of Chipotle. It was good while it lasted.
Cellulose is also found in celery. Of all the things to be worried about in our food I wouldn't put this at the front.

But it is wood pulp...just not in the form your brain is imagining it.
Rennet. An Enzyme found only in the digestive system of cows and sheep and such.
It's used to curdle the milk and create solids to make cheeses.
So basically, it's cow stomach juice.
An interesting fact about the GMO version of rennet is that it uses the bacteria E Coli as the base compound. So basically it turns something harmful into something beneficial!
Qdoba is better anyway
Just go away Chipotle, your food is overpriced, overrated and will continue to get people sick.
It's not competivley priced with taco bell though. If I want e.coli effects why should I lay a premium? It's pretty competitively priced compared to Moe's and Qdoba if you don't care for chips.
What's this place called?
Yeah. Qdoba is kind of trash comparatively. Queso is its saving grace.Pre-sliced tomatoes seems pretty odd. I thought pretty much everybody in the restaurant industry sliced their own tomatoes?
Qdoba has queso. Chipotle is better at basically everything else.
