I found when it goes in the yellow you start having partial blackouts, and you need to keep it in the green to avoid this.
Thanks, fixed it

People are dying left and right in my city. This time I haven't screwed up. Water pollution is 0%, people are healthy, but everyone is dying.
Help.
Steam likes to do that. ¯\_(ツ_/¯
Just ignore it, tell it to not show it again because even if you need it in the future (unlikely) you can right click the game and press "View CD key".
That's steam for ya.
You are being presented with the key so that you can head over to paradox's forum and use it to prove that you have the game by inputting it into a form. You get a badge or something for that busywork. That's all there is to it.
It did until I disabled it, also registered with Paradox's site and put the code in.
I hate the chirper in this game. I turned on the mod that removed it about 15 minutes after starting the game. The chirper and advisor are so useless compared to the advisors + news ticker in SC4. They don't tell you anything's wrong until shit hits the fan.The chirper feels kind of like noise when transient problems are being magnified.

before i buy this game i need some input, how good of a performance could i expect from :
i5-3470
650Ti 2gb
8gb ram
SSD
I have the same GPU as you, although my CPU is significantly worse (Core 2 Quad Q9500...which is 7 years old). I'm able to run the game on medium settings at 1080p around 30 FPS. When my population exceeds 40k, and I start zooming in on some landscapes, the frame rate will drop into the low 20s. Honestly, though, in a game like this, it's not a big deal.
With your CPU, I imagine you'll get a constant 30+ frames per second, regardless of how large your city becomes.
Can it just be deaths as a result of old age? Its going to happen from time to time.
At 53k pop right now. It stalled a bit at ~40k but slowly kept chugging along as buildings upgraded and now demand is up for RCI. Working on bridging the gap between suburbs and core. I have found a great way to deal with the masses of industrial trucks. Seems the best idea is just not to zone industrial in massive chucks.
How much space are you putting in-between your industrial zoning?
Your image is in 4k resolution but rendered in 1920x1200, what gives?
Is there a guide that tells you the bonuses you get from Unique buildings? As of now I don't see the point. I'm only at 7000 pop though.
I have a question regarding Achievements. Anyone else having problems with them being unreliable.
I have more than 5 big police head quarters, more than 5 big fire departments, and at least 20 different districts with different policies on my map. yet none of those trophies will pop.
Any idea?
You've not enabled any mods right? IIRC mods disable achievements

Hi,
So I have two computers and this game isn't working on either of them:
1) Windows PC. It's 32-bit and that's likely the problem. My options here are to install a new OS?
2) Mac: 10.9.5, i5, 4 GB ram, intel HD 3000. The game won't start. Every time I click play it tries to open and then crashes. (Overlay is disabled).
What are my options?
I really love the way houses upgrade based on happiness. But I kinda wish we had tropico-style complete shitty housing at the lowest tier. Even my basic beginner town looks like goddamn Pleasantville USA :<
I WANT SQUALOR DAMNIT
Just plop a roundabout and deal with it later. For some reason, I can't figure out the most elegant way to make a road system that attaches to the two fucking one way roads that connect to the city. It's kinda annoying.
Haha. Seriously though, what was it? It all happened so fast...
Is there a way to turn off the motion blur? I'm also having screen tearing

I was watching a streamer, and he had an epic death spiral..I think people got sick because of Noise Pollution and all died.
So, is there a better way to transfer power than to have ugly powerlines everywhere? I was having a lot of trouble; the powerlines don't seem to connect to the power plant at any specific location, and just get in the way of building. But I don't think I see others using them the same way.
Also, for some reason, when I tried to make a second segment of powerline, even though I was connecting them to existing powered powerlines, they kept giving me the disconnected plug icon and there was no power :/
I really wanna get into this game as I love city builders, but the controls and systems seem really clunky and unpolished at the moment. For all its problems. SC 2013 was a much better polished product at launch.
You can bulldoze extra power lines once enough buildings have come up to connect powered areas together. As for power line extensions not being powered, do you have enough total juice output to reliably carry the power farther out? I haven't had any issues with power lines so far.
Alright, thanks, I'll give it a shot. I am pretty sure I had enough juice, it was a coal power plant and my city didn't even have 500 residents yet. I haven't figured out to see powerplant capacity/output, I just saw a number for output (I believe) with no context as to what the max capacity was.
Another possibility is you just need time to pass a bit for the simulation to catch up and get the electricity flowing out.
