Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’ May Be The Highest User-Scored Game Ever

All I see is a bunch of copied concepts and mechanics. It's nothing new.

And you think this metacritic userscore has any meaning?

So let me get this straight, this game has over a million players, and only 0.3% voted on this game. And you think this rating has any value?
It is worthless, you will never know the real score unless everyone would vote on it.
What a joke to celebrate this user score!

Persona 5 Royal, its direct inspiration:

Also Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, the first and best game in that series. It looks primitive, but the gameplay is tight:

I just started to play yesterday and yes it's a mishmash of existing things, like all art.
The death thing is the Logan's Run concept (probably has an older reference), the world tree thing is thousands of years old like RoadHazard said.

Honestly, the best writing I've experienced in an RPG, I don't feel like being talked to like a child. Game mechanics are solid so far.
The only criticism I have are the menus, too much unnecessary anims that look good for the first hour but are cumbersome. They are also confusing overall, it`s hard to see what is selected, things are placed all over the screen randomly.
