Class of Heroes 2 Physical Release [UMD+PSN for $36] order forms up, min-2500 units

The DS 7th Dragon feels like a lost cause. I'd love to play it in English... but yeah... it's nice to want things. And speaking of wanting things, my PSP localization wish list is:

- New Class of Heroes
- 7th Dragon 2020
- 7th Dragon 2020-II
- Suikoden I&II
- Nayuta no Kiseki

I'd throw SC, 3rd, Zero and Ao on this list, but I've lost hope for those games as well.

Nayuta is fantastic! I withheld adding anything Falcom figuring that would be Xseed/Marvelous USA's realm. Of their psp catalogue Brandish Dark Revenant is what I would choose as their best on the platform. One of my absolute favorite games.

I like that the first one is $89.99.

But $39.99 is surprising. I assume they got some deal for buying in bulk? Because it's like $41.95 to Canada if you ordered from the Gaijinworks site.

So... it would be cheaper for a Canadian resident to buy from VGP and with no risk of import fees?

Edit: Maybe not cheaper with taxes and shipping. But close to just being the same price. With no import fee risk.

No Valkyria Chronicles 3, or the VC-like Shining games? ANY of the Tales games, like Rebirth, Destiny 2, or Phantasia X? The Yggdra Union sequels? The Queen's Blade games? The other Persona 2? Grand Knight History? Frontier Gate? Last Ranker? Final Fantasy Type-0? La Pucelle Ragnarok or Makai Wars Whatever?

I mean, while we're dreaming, let's dream big. There's a LOT of PSP games that deserve localizations that we'll never see.

I really need to learn Japanese....

They aren't offering the download code, but this is a very reasonable price for people that missed the presale and want to still have a physical copy. The only negative it is will be delivered a little after the US release because it has to be shipped to them, and then they have to ship it out to the customers.

Still, not a Playcanada scenario people were fearing, so that's good.

It's very good (and classy) if you ask me. I don't see a real downside unless people still want to play with eBay instead, but that's ok.

And yes, I didn't think anybody would go for the Tales of games because it's Namco, but one can dream.

$39.99 CDN is actually quite reasonable for the physical version of the game. No doubt VGP will sell the digital codes or on ebay or something, but I'm surprised the price is reasonable.

One wonders if a partnership between Gaijinworks and XSEED is at all possible. Get the source code to the GW programmer and implement the apparently completed localization.

That would be nice. I just hate that all that time was wasted not translating the next legend of heroes game :[

How realistic would something like DariusBurst or Nayuta be in the future for Gaijinworks?

I would absolutely LOVE to play both of these, Nayuta especially looks incredible and Burst just looks like a really solid Darius.

Any hope at all for these?

I wouldn't use their localization as-is, and they wouldn't be happy with what I do, so that's not gonna happen. Still, it shocks me that they haven't got their own programming line or lines up in the US. It's not that hard to do and would completely prevent situations like the Grand Knights thing.

Class of Heroes 2 for the PSP has passed Sony QA and we're waiting for confirmation of the PSN date now!

I just ordered CoH2 from VGP even though I don't have TOO much interest in the game, I do like what you guys are doing and want to support it.

I did like EO1 though and it's been a while since I played that type of game so hopefully I'll like it.

Did the PSN code come inside the game case orginally? Does this mean that VGP will gut my copy or did you distribute codes through email?

The codes are all coming to the P+D buyers through email so they aren't forced to wait for the physical copy to come weeks after the digital is on PSN. They will get the code a day or two before it hits PSN and be able to download and enjoy it on day 1, then the physical will arrive a few weeks later.

Very nice to hear. Now I await the PSN digital code to arrive by email on the day of release.

The plan is to send buyers the PSN code a day or two before release. That way if there are any delivery problems for a few people we can get them worked out so everyone has their code and can download on day 1.

Comforting to hear we're getting the codes a day or two in advance. The reason why I thought the codes were going to be emailed on CoH2's PSN release date was that I remember during one of Farsight's Pinball Arcade Kickstarters for one of their pinball tables that we had to wait until the next day because they had to get the batch of codes and then test to see if they were validated for a redemption.

I thought it was going to be the same case here, not that I would've complained or anything.

just make sure you put in the email the code will not work until sony updates the psn store. there are times now that people will try to enter it the day they get it and get an error saying it expired or not longer valid. paste it all over and around the code.

That's the *plan*, but we haven't executed yet, so we'll see how it goes. ;)

Yeah, I know. Excitement sometimes overrules logic and/or reading comprehension. Hard to be calm when the code comes in...

Pure speculation on my part... but perhaps their agreement did not cover getting direct access to the source code. That could explain why they would cancel so late after doing all of the translation etc already

So uh, since I'm doing the OT, I still need banner volunteers. (Also not sure when it could go up, depends on the PSN date...)

One thing I didn't mention until now is that if you or a friend played the import CoH2 (totomono2), the net trading will work with the US version since we left the ad hoc network ID the same as the Japanese version. So the US and Japanese and European versions will be able to trade.

That is actually pretty cool.

Vic, would you be interested in bringing visual novels/dating sims?

Aksys brought over an otome game last year and it must have done well by them, since they are now in te process of translating a sequel and another otome title.

Edit: actually, it seems they are bringing a sequel *and* a 3DS version of Hakuoki.

I'm not against that (I did work on Miami Law, a visual novel), but there are SO many great RPGs for PSP and the window for those is closing, that I'm probably concentrating on getting as many of them as I can before there's no way to do it.

Super Danganronpa is the only visual novel I want. Maybe level-5 Time travelers but it was also released on Vita & 3DS.

Can we get a list of who will be reviewing the game early? Also, is there an embargo of any sort of can they post anytime?

No embargo, but there won't be a list until/unless we get confirmation from Sony we're getting vouchers for press early. We should have word either way next week.

Any updates? This may very well be the longest gap between posts in this thread yet. More so, are gaming sites going to get review copies?

Well, most major outlets don't really bother with PSP reviews. There's RPGFan(who reviewed BRS), maybe RPGamer, and maybe Destructoid and the like.

That's a reasonable list either way, I'm simply curious to know which sites (if any) to keep an eye out for :) 1.5 weeks until we get our own copies.
