Wario64

works for Gamestop (lol)

what he says: xbox 360 > PC because of online connectivity at all times, buddy lists, live marketplace. PC has bunch of shit you dont want like spyware, don't have to deal with that on xbox 360.
physics will be awesome on next gen.
gears of war will allow cover behind anything that looks like you can take cover (toss grenade near pillar, pillar falls, interact with pillar and take cover).
gears of war will have melee attacks where you perform DDR type moves
over the shoulder view will allow main character to turn its head to important objects, or have the camera detach to show a point of interest
simple three order base system for squad orders (advance, hold, freelance)

:lol i like the name.. cliffy b. sounds like a pimp or something.

Didn't he dress up as one for an e3 once? He kinda comes off as an attention whore tbh.

I hope the 3rd person shooting mechanics work out though, GoW looks pretty good.

NO SPYWARE ON THE 360 AWESOME THANKS CLIFFY B

Well, unless you count crap like all 360 games being 'Live-aware', that is. Making every game Live-aware, whether it's an online or offline title, gives interested parties the ability to track how many people are playing a given game and how long they've been playing it for. (And something tells me that 'XBL Silver' will still keep track of what games you're playing if your system's connected to the net, even if it only lets you play them online on the weekends. :p ) That's the kind of information marketing departments would give an arm and a leg for. Since Microsoft's not a company that's known for refusing easy money, I'd be surprised if they didn't already have a plan in place to track that usage data and make it available to interested publishers. :p

Heh. I wouldn't care if they provided a way to opt out of any stat-collecting they might do, but I doubt it'll be an option. Just one of those silly 'matters of principle' I tend to care about. :p

I'm assuming DDR doesn't mean Dance Dance Revolution, so what does it stand for?

I think maybe... I dunno...

Dance Dance Revolution?

Maybe similiar to Shenmue's or RE:4's.

yah they mean dance dance revolutiion probably with left left right right x y combo stuff. dialin combo with other words.

think god of war, i guess...the combo buttons are random but it'll show you what to press to do an instant kill

Why dont people call them what they are? (QTE's) Do they have to pay Yu Suzuki money if they do or something?

Dial in combo? Yuck. They tried to make melee better by giving it... I guess better animated variety, but it'll more than likely get tired fast.

Would be much better off implementing a solid melee combat system.

it's not dial in combo. if it was dial in combo, the button combos would be the same everytime you want to melee. the buttons will be random and act like QTE/RE4 context buttons/God of War finishing moves

Epic and Cliffy were always strong PC supporters. It saddens me to hear this.
Why? Pc gaming sucks. :)

This is the best looking next gen game that I've seen. Just compare the main character model from this to that of Killzone. This one looks much more realistic. If they can get the framerate up and the animations up to speed then this could be their Halo.

They'll need to get the gameplay up for it to be the next Halo. Graphics alone arent going to cut it since there will probably be better looking PS3 games by the time this gets released.

That gameplay comment is true but I don't see why their will be better looking games for the ps3 1st gen vs. this 2nd gen title and I don't see what the ps3 has to do with anything. People bought Halo because it was a great game even though their were a ton ps2 games out there.

Forget that I said PS3. I meant that there will be better looking games than this next gen so graphics alone aren't enough.

For some reason I'm not getting a good feeling about this game. It doesn't look very original.
you can compare it to RE4 or God of War but those games were pushing the envelope in more than just graphics
I'm getting more of a Brute Force vibe from this one.
Who knows, maybe Epic will come through in the end. I haven't played many 3rd person action games from them.

Jesus.

You are quite possibly the worst person on the Internet. Congratulations.

GoW rocks! But let me get something straight about the cover thing. Will this game have "per-pixel damage"? Probably not the right term, but will it be a good enough damage system that you can hide behind a lamppost and be protected only over the area the lamppost covers? Most games today use lame bounding-boxes that simply don't do a good job simulating reality. I'd like a more complex/accurate damage system. PEACE.

I'm pretty sure that it's set up so that if you're taking cover, you wont get hit by stray fire. I beleive the term you were looking for was something like "per pixel hit detection" or something to that effect. I'm guessing they will do this out of a gameplay chocie rather than a technical limitation. That being said, I don't find it likely that you'd be able to hide behind anything that is too small to cover the majority of your character.
