Why is the Trump administration so averse to the proposals that have broad support among both his supporters and Democrats? Where's the $1 trillion infrastructure investment prpposal? Where's the maternity leave bill? What's being done to solve the opioid epidemic?

Why is Trump doubling down on divisive issues, some of which even his own base are against?

Because they're full of conservative scummy traitors who only care about making themselves richer.

Im actually shocked by this. I figured Trump would rebound slightly at some point with all the job "deals" he's been able to take credit for. And the ACA push shouldve been a sure fire thing for his base at least.

Repealing the ACA is red meat for the base but it's replacement is not popular

But sadly, Republicans won't do shit, because that 37% is largely Republican primary voters.

And just think, he's still in his "honeymoon" period where the WWC voters in the midwest/rust belt/appalachia are still waiting for him to bring their jobs back. If he continues doing nothing for them (or pursuing more anti-poor policies) we could see him in the 20s by summer.

Because Trump doesn't actually care about policy. His primary driver is ego.

Putting a legislative agenda together requires focus, hard work, and clear leadership. Trump is unfortunately satisfied with jumping on board with whatever someone else comes up with rather than risk cutting into his TV time.

The ACA push would have worked if the plan they proposed wasn't complete shit.

If only there was some method of electing candidates to ensure that they would be liked by a majority of citizens. If there was, thousands of deaths could have been averted. Embarrassing, that.

No wonder popularity-minded Rs like Arnold are taking potshots at him. If he weren't himself, even Trump would complain about Trump.

For a demagogue he is shit at the popularity part

Erdogan is doing a much better job at transitioning a democracy to a dictatorship.

Gallup's tracking is volatile.

But that obviously is not a pretty trend. 40 or below and virtually nothing has happened in the world since he took office. And our economy is humming (for the time being).

This is how he does in easy mode.

this is really important to understand. things are coasting and his rating is falling. imagine if he actually had to respond to a disaster in any capacity. imagine if his proposed legislation ever went through.

His base never understood what aca was or how killing it would affect them - they're starting to understand now.

Bannon is going to unleash all the "reasonable" and "what the country needs and wants" bills right before 2020 so he wins. He knows now is the best opportunity to go full crazy when they have both houses and don't need to worry about 2020.

The race to zero is real. Whichever president comes in after trump is going to have some very positive ratings by comparison

Wait till Monday when the Russian connection is announced.

Believe.

If there was one thing I had hoped people had learned from the Maddow business, it was to not treat investigation like a movie/game announcement. Let's find the truth and get them to stop lying, then we can figure out how severe the information is.

IF that were the plan, the beauty of it is that none of those bills would pass the GOP congress (which is what he really wants) so he can claim "We tried".

Gallup's daily tracker is sooooo noisy. 8 point drop in a few days, not likely. Unless people are super pissed about the Medicare stuff, it'll probably be back to 40-41 in a day or two.

This is just one volatile poll. I'll feel a lot better when his poll average is 37%. It starts getting unrecoverable at that point.

People are super pissed about the Medicare stuff. At least sane people are.

This doesnt console me in the slightest.

Look at the fucking bump he got for reading from a god damn teleprompter without shitting all over the walls, the bar hasnt been lowered, there is no bar.

It'll skyrocket to the top once he's orders a false flag operation bombing something in the next month or so.

... and shit didn't hit the fan yet.

It may be time for him and Bannon to start a war somewhere.

They must pray each night for a major terrorist attack on US soil now.
