Not quite sure what to expect from the Cal - Washington State game this week. Cal's still missing half of their defensive starters and McCain was dismissed from the team this week. Also, I don't know how well Goff will bounce back from being benched on Saturday.

So long DeLoss. Thanks for bungling realignment

Anyone want to buy a gently worn cable network?

Sounds like DeLoss has cancer or something else really bad by the insiders. He's been a great AD. Tons of success in his tenure... just that every program fell on its face late in his career

Well that sucks. :(

Hard to argue his success as an AD. My complaints are with him as a conference power broker

So Texas plays on Thursday and its not Thanksgiving Thursday? How far have we fallen to be relegated to a Thursday game so we'll get some real national exposure?

I work late Thursday so I won't be able to watch the game. Thanks Deloss!

Really tempted to put Washington over Stanford and Northwestern over Ohio State, but I don't have the balls to do it. Northwestern is gonna upset.

I feel sorry for knocking Maryland out of the rankings the one week they're in it. Go Noles!

People picking us by more than 7-10 are insane. This game scares the shit out of me, we play like garbage in Evanston at night.

I heard four different ESPN talking heads mention Sumlin as the #1 coach for USC in the space of half an hour today. Given their ability to shape CFB, and Sumlin's history of bailing on a successful team, I think he might actually do it. I just hope he finishes this season before being too distracted, like when he couldn't be bothered to win the CCG at Houston and get a BCS bowl.

What's the connection between Sumlin and USC? Or is he just the hottest name so he automatically gets associated with any big job?

That was so fucked up. Lost a lot of respect for him when you could clearly see he had one foot out the door before the game.

It's interesting.

Sumlin doesn't really have a track record of sticking around too long, true...but I always had him pegged as a guy who ultimately wants to get to the NFL. I'm not sure which job actually gets him closer to that goal. USC being smack in the middle of one of the biggest media markets sure is appealing, but so is the coverage you get being in the SEC SEC.

I think he'd take the USC job if offered with the right terms, but I really believe he's further down their list--maybe 4th tops. No slight on Sumlin--he's super-hot right now, but there's just so many good, qualified candidates WITH SoCal ties, that I think they look at those guys first.

Yeah, I'd say if he was in Year 3 or 4 he'd probably bail, but after Year 2 would be a bit ridiculous. I expect a big contract extension from A&M (did he get one after last year?) coming down the pipe soon.

Out of curiosity, how long was Kiffin at UT before heading west?

I think he's gone.

JFF is done after this year, may as well get out before a slip in productivity

I think Petersen is very much in play. Sanctions are over at USC, and Boise isn't the same without Kellen Moore.

I had thought of this. It's entirely possible that A&M goes from the top-tier of the conference down to the middle without Manziel, and that drop, for whatever reason, would hurt Sumlin's future prospects. Then the question becomes who replaces Sumlin, and are they a spread-oriented coach that would fit with our current recruiting.

Coaching Carousel: Hours of fun for the whole fanbase!

Well, your defense is horrid. Without an offense like you have now you would have lost several other games this season.

So the question he has to answer is how much of the offense is JFF and how much is the system. He knows that answer better than we do.

If the answer is JFF accounts for 30% plus of the offense? Jump now before the gig is up.

Unless his plan is to sit at A&M for the next 10 years, but I think pretty much everyone thinks he has NFL aspirations. USC seems a good place to make the jump to NFL.

Wonder if he, or anyone else, will feign heart problems, to get out of coaching at their current school.

Apparently we are wearing the gray uniforms on Saturday. Brilliant move by the marketing department. This way when people are filling through the channels during the afternoon games and they see UGA beating the shit out of some team in gray they will change the channel and notice it is us.
