Big 12 cuts expansion list to at least 12: AF, BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, CSU, UConn, UH, Rice, USF, SMU, Temple & Tulane sources told @ESPN

UH, Rice, and SMU screams old school TX politics. But hey, why not bring back the SWC?

And Tulane? I guess dem academics. But I can't imagine wanting to add more to the private school bloc or introduce even more TX politics.

I got grudge sucked!
Tropical storm Hermoine about to roll up on my game on Saturday. Its supposed to be gone by Saturday afternoon but everything will still be nice and wet, and probably muggy as hell.

I don't care what its real name is. Only a system named after some limey mudblood would try to rain out football

This feeling is so weird. I think its called excitement? RR/Hoke had pretty much beat it out of me so it feels very strange this year.

Your avatar at first glance just looks like you're calling Michigan the worst state ever because of the colors.

As a WVU fan, I really want Cincy and UCONN to have a couple of closer members. Both would help sure up the basketball side of things even more as well. I guess Temple would be ok there, but I have less confidence in their football program getting/remaining competitive at the P5 level. UCF would be alright too as we've always recruited well in Florida and that's suffered slightly without having roadtrips to Miami and the USF in the Big East to help sell recruits that got passed over by FSU/UF/Miami.

I'd also rather them just got to 14 and grab too more for the west division. Definitely BYU given their national brand and competitive football and basketball. I'd probably go with Air Force or Colorado State for the other. Houston is more competitive currently, but we don't really need a 5th Texas school. They just don't provide a new area to sell an eventual Big 12 network too.

I can't see them going to 16 now, as they'd want to keep a couple slots open for current P5 teams down the road if say the Big 10 or SEC poach the ACC to get to 16 themselves and make some available. There's been some murmuring about Arizona and ASU being less than thrilled in the Pac 12 as well, so maybe they'd move after their grant of rights is up.

Nice! Wife and I just bought a house, and the downstairs used to be a rental/mother-in-law unit, so I have a ton of space to play around with. Can't wait to get started.

By the way, did I mention that I'm super excited for this upcoming Greatest Opening Football Weekend of All Time that I'm going to completely miss because I'm going to be at a wedding in Middle of Nowhere, CA? If I'm lucky, I *might* be able to stream the tOSU game in the morning.

Fall weddings are the WORST.
Fuck fall weddings, all of my friends know if you get married on a Saturday in the fall I will not be there.

I've got a wedding to go to during the weekend of the Oklahoma game, and we've got a pretty decent shot at being 6-0 heading into that one. : (

Any ideas for the podcast tonight? Tonight is SEC preview along with pick ems for this week's games.

Grayson Lambert has been named the starting QB for UGA this weekend, according to sources. It's what I'd do, honestly.

Lambert is definitely no world beater but he's able to recognize coverages better than a freshman and not do stupid things. Anybody can hand the ball off to Chubb. I still expect Eason to play quite a bit Saturday and more going forward until he's starting at least halfway through the season.

Anyone tapped in enough to the gamecocks to tell me whether I should be buckling down for another heart breaking season? Spurrier leaving broke me so I've kept up with nary a bit of news.

Is doubling our wins from last year out of the question?

Can we beat Vandy tonight?

Is it true you can't spell USC with out Muschamp?

Doubling your wins will be tough with the roster that Muschamp has inherited. Tune into tonight's episode of The Decided Schematic Advantage to learn more!

Haha I'm aiming to have it up tonight if we can get started by 8:45 and done before 10. Have to import the file and then run my processing on it, export, and then upload. Probably be a late night.

It's not heartbreaking if you don't have any expectations! I'll be content with 5-7 and a ton of experience for the newcomers on offense and in the secondary.

@ Vandy
@ Miss St
ECU
@ Kentucky
Texas A&M
Georgia
(bye)
UMass
Tennessee
Missouri
@ Florida
W. Carolina
@ Clemson

Not a bad schedule in a normal season, but having three of the first four games on the road is rough with a new coaching staff and an extremely young offense.

Anyway.

Just a shameless cash grab from a conference that will likely break up and dissolve after the current grant of rights for most teams expire in 2022-23. The lack of leadership atop the Big 12 over the last decade has been appalling.

What a disgusting human being. And stupid. Did I mention stupid?

You know I'd almost rather be at 3 wins than 5 again. 5 means we were probably competitive enough for me to have the rug pulled out several Saturday's and get sad and angry drunk. 3 wins means I've written off the season and even losing to the Citadel can't phase me.

I look at it this way, if Vandy wins tonight then South Carolina is really in for a rough season. But if South Carolina wins then it gives them some false hope that will be fun to watch as the games continue.

I have nothing against Tennessee, really, but I gotta pray for my boys at Appalachian State. You'll always be every tOSU fans second favorite team.

I really thought Eason would've started based on the spring game.
