Either I made up lies about the Boston Bomber or I fell for someone else's crap. Either way, I have absolutely no credibility and you should never pay any attention to anything I say, no matter what the context. Perm me if I claim to be an insider
The NCAA tournament is awash with excellent gifs.

Trying to decide which of those guys is Cyan. I'd like to say Pearl Necklace guy, but it's 99.1590323652098624% official, that Cyan is the guy in the background. That cold stare of realization that he's a Cal Bear.

Is anyone else concerned about the MWC for still not releasing their 2013 conference schedules? I mean we're almost to April and most FCS teams already have their full 2013 schedules posted at this time. Did the MWC get disbanded like the WAC when I wasn't paying attention? I want to know full Hawaii's schedule dammit!

Golden Domers are chickenshit!!
Roster management, Saban style.

That ridiculous site that bitched about oversigning always made sure to whine about 5th year seniors with degrees who got "cut," but I never saw the big deal with that. Kids got their degrees, so I'm not sure what else some people feel the university owes them. No one can bitch about the idiotic felons who got cut. Shinn was a contributor last year, but wasn't happy about his playing time and is probably going to Texas Tech. Woodson is still on the team.

As far as "processing" of players go, this was relatively minor.

In this scenario, Richt would have kicked Murray off the team as he has his degree and is in grad school. Obviously he won't kick off his starting QB that will own every school and conference record by the end of the season. My only point was that Saban trims his roster by whatever means necessary. Not necessarily underhanded.

That's just an asanine comparison. Starting qb versus schlorship guys who never made it above third string.

I would be pissed if Saban passed on a star recruit to keep one of these guys on the team unless they were just essential scout team players.

TAMU's spring game isn't for a few weeks. And why would he punch a Gamblers Anonymous person anyway?

The narc from the OK casino?

Also, :jnc at me for not believing the snow forecasters. Got all ready for work, hit the door and there it was. Still, having the day off is hardly the worst of surprises.

Here come the positive stories in Spring about UT! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-football/news/20130325/mack-brown-texas/?sct=uk_t11_a1

And I am going to get hyped and bite into it again.

Then we will have a closer then usual game with BYU. I will be told not to panic, and we will get beaten by K-State, then thrashed by Oklahoma, then etc etc etc.

The joys of being a Longhorn fan.

Excellent Bleacher Report article by Stewart Mandel. He has some decent insights for fan blogger. He's no TJ Corbs Corbs though.

Did you see the jersey strong helmet, with the jersey shore jersey today? I mean I know it's for Sandy, but but but ....

Seems like it's Maurice Clarettt U at Maryland (might be Fed Ex) with Michigan at Rutgers (it might be Metlife) in 2014.

The FBS is growing once more!

Georgia Southern and Appalachian State are moving to FBS in 2015 and joining the Sun Belt Conference. Sun Belt is also looking at Idaho and New Mexico State plus other FCS schools to get to 12 eventually. They're losing WKU and another team - Middle Tennessee I think to CUSA.

No way those games wont be played in the bigger NFL stadiums. At least for the first year.

Good for Georgia Southern. About damn time.

Do they enjoy good support? Can't remember exactly but I thought they were. I think by 2015 FBS should be pushing about 130 teams I think. Because CUSA is adding some FCS schools too by 2013-2015. UNC-Charlotte and Old Dominion at the very least.

GSU is apparently 10-1 against us... damn.

I think that Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern need to have a loser leaves town type of game, because surely there's not room for two FBS teams from the same state both running the option.

Yeah, on that level they have a pretty good following. I kind of root for them on a little brother level as Erk Russell left his defensive coordinator position at UGA back in the day to start their football program. They've won 6 national championships in Div 2 so that's something. They're a triple option team, along with Georgia Tech and now Kennesaw State.

One of Paul Johnson's coaches from GA Tech (and former UGA player), Brian Bohannon, left the other day and is apparently starting the football program at Kennesaw State.

I didn't see the new Sandy gear. Oh well, maybe the shabby gear will have our opponents roll over in laughter.

As for playing Michigan at MetLife - Ugh. Let's just have our game against Penn State.

Huh. Weird. Is it really a good move, $-wise, to move from kings of I-AA to lower-tier I-A?

I have to imagine it's a pretty nice windfall. TV contracts are where a ton of the money is and I-AA is basically only on TV at all during the playoffs if you're lucky.

I think I'm starting to dislike Dodds more than Mack. Stability leads to complacency when things go awry, and that's exactly what has happened. 3 sub 10 win seasons and Dodds loves Mack more than ever. The old geezers at the head of our athletic departments are like any other geriatric. Wake up early with the same routine every day; a bowl of malt-o-meal in the morning, lunch at 11, dinner at 4:30, wheel of fortune at 6:30, then bedtime at 8.

We need a young guy in charge that isn't afraid to shake things up, to step on toes, to create an uncomfortable environment with the constant pressure of accountability. We have none of that right now. Heck I can't even remember the last time a mens head coach was fired for performance reasons. Won't happen anytime soon with "everybody is doing an excellent job and winning all the time is bad for college sports" Dodds

A) I am still fine with Mack so far. He has earned 3 disappointing seasons. Unlike Barnes, who needs to be fired.
B) I am too worried about the fight between Perry and Powers to shake up the Athletic Department. Or anything higher up in the faculty really.
C) I only want Oliver Luck since Bowlsby is our league commissioner.

Seems Div1 isnt the only unstable environment, found this scrolling through division 2 conferences

The WVIAC is now set to disband on September 1, 2013. Its football-playing members announced in June 2012 that they planned to withdraw to form a new Division II conference effective at the end of the 2012-13 season; this led to a chain of conference moves that has so far seen all but one of the WVIAC's members find new conference homes.

Conference was formed in 1924

What would this thread be without all the up to date news following conference realignment of all kinds. I'm sure everyone was wondering when Tulsa joins the America 12, who will replae them in C-USA?

Well .. Western Kentucky it is!

But I'm certain Western Kentucky will do its best. And, yes, that is who will replace Tulsa. The Hilltoppers want to join Conference USA and league officials have confirmed WKU will be invited.
