seriously. i enjoy whedon but too often all his characters all share the same style of humor. dr horrible is the only time it really worked for me.

Oh I totally agree, I guess I was trying to say that why make a character who is essentially black Nick Fury in the 616 universe when you already have an established one in the Ultimate universe. Same thing with Hawkeye's stupid new costume.

They should have kept that shit in Ultimates and away from 616. It would have been pretty hilarious if they'd made a black Coulson for 616, though...just for the symmetry of it all.

I'd say so! Highly recommend you read the first 18 issues as well, but I think the book is gonna be around for awhile. It sells pretty well, and Remender got years of plans.

Every time someone mentions X-Force I go to Comixology and check to see if Marvel have put up #14-18 yet. And still they haven't. Godammit Marvel you dicks, let me give you my money. I don't want to buy the trade, I want to read it like this. So annoying that there's this sizable and CRUCIAL gap in the complete story, and I don't want to jump ahead and spoil the journey.

Anyone else reading New 52 Captain Atom, i promised myself i would stop after the giant rat thing....but im hooked.
Seeing his future/alternate/whatever selves was frikkin awesome, the one who thinks words lost their meaning is so bloody cool, i hope we get to see more of him...Captain Atom has to be one of if not the most powerful of the New 52 characters, i just hope this stroyline goes somewhere pointful.
P.S Anyone who is actually reading New 52 Captain Atom, what are the numbers....is it like Spawn where when the numbers reach 0 its over?
So after DC rebooted with their whole New 52 shindig I decided I might as well start getting back into things. Also because I found the DC comics app from comiXology for my tablet. So far I've started:
Blue Beetle
Superman
The Flash
Blue Beetle has been a fair read. I quite liked the old Blue Beetle, and so I picked his up. The main character is OK, needs to sack up a bit, but I'm quite liking how the scarab and the suit. I like how he just gets told to shut up every time he tries to man up.
Superman has also been an OK read, nothing great, but the premise so far is interesting. The artwork on the whole is cool, but sometimes Lois looks like a dude, I wish Merino did better faces
The Flash is damn awesome. Loving the art, and the panelling is just fucking awesome. I'm not too far in, but the story already seems fairly heavy considering it just started, but all is good.
I'm trying to pick up Aquaman, but the damn thing won't give me the first issue!

Try Action Comics instead of Superman. Aquaman is a lot of fun. Check out Batman, Swamp Thing, and Animal Man for the three best New 52 series.

I will say George Perez is no longer writing Superman and in issue #7 there is a new creative team and I enjoyed it much more. Not that 1-6 was bad but it's an improvement so far.
No kidding! I was like, "well, better set aside a half hour to get through this issue!"

I liked those (well, FI) but this is just the right balance of fun and high stakes.
Also, having it tie into regular serieses without starting a shitload of new minis is a nice bonus. It's kind of oddly contained.

Nah, I'm reading Hellboy and associated books in trade
only up to vol 2 of Hellboy so its gonna be a good long time before I catch up. I'm trying to go trade for really good series and minis that i'll want to share later. My wife and friends prefer trades as a medium, and it makes more sense from a monetary and long-term viewpoint.WascallyWabbit

The AvX tie-ins this week (Uncanny X-men, Secret Avengers, New Avengers) were surprisingly great, especially Secret Avengers. That's the first issue I bought of the series, and I was happy with the dialogue and twist ending.
AvX VS #1 though..... uh..... that was something.
