Oh, don't get me wrong, I love the new direction, but I feel like it has to be building towards something big, sooner or later, and it's not going as fast as I'd like. Maybe it's just me and I'm barely making sense, but I'm still giving the book a chance.

Anyway, finished the Runaways omnibus, and dear god did I love it. Are there other books that I may also like? How is Generation Hope, compared to it?

What books do you read?

In general, I would say Word Balloon if you are interested in behind the scenes type stuff. The podcast interviews pretty much every big name in the medium.

AA isn't that good. It has its moments but pacing, plot and characterization of Hazmat/Reptil need work and he forgot Reptil/Hazmat's past encounter with Arcade.

Been out of the marvel loop for a while but recently started reading Fantastic Four, FF and Hawkeye. In Hawkeye, why is Nick Fury black? I thought this wasn't part of the ultimate universe.

Nick Fury's son and has adopted his codename, IIRC, the original is still around.

hahah no that was just Nick in disguise. Though it's funny that it happened *after* he learned from Earth 616 Peter Parker about the white Nick Fury.

He's gone off to create his Howlin Commandos group. That wasn't a bad story, all in all. A few eyerolls here and there, but I loved the trigger happy dudebro black guy they had Fury with. He was truly our representative.
Dudebro: Why don't we just shoot him now?
Undercover Fury: Um....because we need him... for interrogation.
Dudebro: fuck that, this dude is an Avenger. We need to kill his ass yesterday. We will regret it if we don't.

I wonder if this has to do with Peter David's health.

Also, with the end of X-Factor and Morrison Batman, I think we will have seen every multi-year run in big 2 comics come to a close.

That's Xorn, but considering Beast looks like a fucking goat, I'm calling alternate universe shenanigans. Maybe this one's actually Magneto for real, AS IT SHOULD BE.

(also: Monkey Beast is the best Beast)

So, I'm confused. I've followed the storylines via friends who read the books. But why would anyone give a shit about whether the Past X-Men are sent back? Marvel has said time and again that time travel in the Marvel universe creates tangent universes. It has no actual effect on ones current time line. So the X-Men from the past are from an alternate past. So sending them back wouldn't... really... change anything???

Or did they change that rule?

Hey guys just jumped back on the Marvel bandwagon again after a year and a bit hiatus what NOW titles are worth picking up? Taken note of Avengers Arena.

Only thing I'm reading the now is the outstanding Hawkeye and i picked up Hickmans Avengers which after 6 issues is pretty cool, kinda reminiscent of Remenders X-Force even without Opena's art.

If you're reading Avengers you should also get New Avengers.

I just jumped back in as well and FF, Fantastic Four and Hawkeye are all great. Love FF the most.
