Phillip Bond is, of course, artist of Vimanarama, the best Morrison comic there ever was.

I realize I'm just falling for their price hike shenanigans, but I have to say that I have come to really love the quality of the covers and interior pages of DC's $3.99 books. I keenly feel the difference between them and the $2.99 titles (though the interiors of those are still good). Makes me wish Image would take some of that $3.50 and up the quality a bit. One of my few but nagging complaints.

(I won't comment on Marvels as I've only gotten two of their titles recently)

Not trolling, but why do people hate Bendis? Most of his stuff I've read has been really enjoyable.

I don't hate him, but I'm not fond of him either. Personally it's because he's a master of decompression and his books feel like they take forever to get anywhere. They read okay if you're reading them all in one go, but one at a time? I just can't do it anymore.
His characters also have a tendency to lack a distinct voice (And to spend a lot of time talking about nothing much in their non-distinct voices).

Spiderman: Family Business ripped off the majority of plot from Spider-man: Revenge of the Sinister Six. Then at the very end they give us a ridiculous and ambiguous ending which would fit in a mini-series or monthly comic but not in damn OGN which takes years to come out. Dell Otto was miles better on Secret War. Neither the story nor art impressed me. Not to mention it totally wasn't worth the price, 80 pages for $20. I just hate this crap.

I think the biggest culprit is the comparisons to the Marvel movies (which are unfair, at the moment, as Man of Steel is standalone until further DC films tying into it come out) and then what I like to call "over the top nitpicks"; These are things like, "Superman doesn't kill. He'd have found a way to beat Zod without killing him", or, "Oh my God Superman destroyed Metropolis. He'd never do that. He'd punch Zod to the Moon and fight him there." Things like these are easily explained by the plot, if you actually pay attention, but are quick and easy snarky sound bites for people looking to hate on the film.

I also feel like these comments are comparing a well seasoned, experienced Superman vs a first day on the job, ever put on the suit Superman. Your first day is going to suck, you're going to make mistakes and fuck up.

tell me about it. miles is so fucking boring. when iceman, kitty pryde and human torch were all living with peter parker was the peak of all ultimate comics. that series was so much fun.

All New X-Men is the best comic on shelves right now. Uncanny is alright, Amazing will be an atrocity, and X-Men is just plain boring.
