I just read the newest Sex Crims and enjoyed it like always. Part of me wishes Zdarsky was doing the art for Howard but Quinones is cool too.

Again. Best cover in comic book history. Pitch perfect cartooning. Just unbelievable.

I read the Batgirl issue. Can someone educate me as to why Babs being shocked at the reveal of Dagger as being Transphobia?
It's not so much that precise part as it's the way
Dagger immediately goes into "smudged makeup" while seemingly going wacko.
While the intent is certainly not transphobic, it's the way the scene is almost the textbook version of the "cray-cray trans character" trope that's putting people off. But I'm certainly not a specialist on that matter.

The creative team reacted well to it and they have some room to bring the character back and do it justice this time.

I liked the episode though.

I believe the idea is that it isn't PC to be surprised that someone who appears to be or identifies as female as their gender is actually biologically male. Also, because there has been a history of evil transgender characters, it's no longer acceptable for any transgendered character to be evil because it perpetuates that particular stereotype.

That is how I read it anyways.

Ok, I don't agree with the argument but respect that it hurt some people and leave it at that.

I don't either but I prefer to respect peoples feelings on the matter to whom it is very important. I think if you had a larger portion of "positive" transgendered representation then it'd be less of an issue. Populations of marginalized identities are going to get tired of seeing certain portrayals, that appear over and over again in their eyes, without that counter balance.

Remember when the New 52 desperately wanted Wildstorm to be a thing again?

We never even got a Justice League vs. Stormwatch brawl. Why they didn't just call it "The Authority" is beyond me.

Aside from lack of sales, there seemed to be some creative conflict there. It felt like part of DC's biggest names, like Geoff Johns, had no interest in the Wildstorm fusion at all, and so it was all swept away as quickly as they could.

It was done entirely to placate Jim Lee if we're being honest.

i'm sure he'll come back for another three issues before being gone for the next twelve.

speaking of which, how much you wanna bet Star Wars #3 is the last issue Cassaday draws

how much you wanna bet the book gets delayed even when its just 3 issues and they announced this shit like a year in advance

"Jason Aaron and Greg Land Present Star Wars"

We want the best artist on this book, its freaking Star wars. - axel alonso

Reading the solicitation makes it sound like that's the last part, like its a 3-issue story. Considering this is the first issue to sell over a million copies in 20 years, you'd think that would be smart about this painfully slow artist and plan accordingly.

I did pre-order Rocket Racoon based on Scottie Young drawing it, i'll give the other guys a chance though but the hype is gone.

Is it Safe to assume Bendis has little to no interest in getting back to Scarlet? Or is it Maleev?

Rocket Racoon is still great and the art while not Skottie it more than does the job.

So far, I read the first story in the Harley Holiday Special and it was really good. Really like when Harley's therapist background comes into play.

I liked the part in that spider-verse team up where they thought he was gonna say
something racist
. Didn't much care for the Spider-Gwen part.

Spider-man and the X-Men is good, too.

I don't believe the hype, though i did order Batman and Robin #38 to see what's up with the new angle, haven't bought an issue of this series since Death of the Family.

that's not entirely true, but anytime someone writes an evil trans character it's always based on the deception trope. Dagger wasn't even a trans character but that scene was pretty much that old trope played out, and it was written as such.

I can't be the only one who just doesn't care about Marvel's Star Wars books. Just looking at the solicits, they're ready to pound this franchise into mediocrity and over-saturation.

I'm ok with it, actually. There's two ongoings and a miniseries of rotating characters. Not exactly the Batman line-up here. Jason Aaron can totally nail that tone of breezy Saturday morning matinee adventure of the first couple films, and Gillen is great at putting villainous characters in the spotlight. They'll probably be pretty decent comics.

Can't be worse than Brian Wood's Star Wars, talk about boring
