I've read Fear Itself and that shit was awful. How much better/worse is Age of Ultron compared to that?

I liked Age of Ultron quite a bit more than Fear Itself. It's a fast, easy read. You just have to be cool with the fact that Ultron isn't actually in it much and there isn't much impact on Sacred Continuity. But I love Ultron and time travel stories, and it got the job done.

Now, AoU > FI doesn't mean much, so to further qualify I'll say I'd put it at the very bottom of a stack of Marvel events I enjoyed. If you do decide to get it, make sure to read the Ant-Man centric epilogue issue by Mark Waid, which was by far the best thing to come out of the whole mess. Some of the tie-ins are fun too, especially Uncanny Avengers.

I have a Marvel Unlimited sub so I'm not really spending any money out of pocket. I think I'll give it a go and won't expect much from it after I'm done reading Runaways.

The absolute best AoU tie-ins were the two Ewing/Guice Avengers Assemble issues.

Steve, the dog with no powers that we let hang out with us all for some reason
Just looked up an old interview in which he talks about this. Sucks how marvel kind of screwed on it.

He also talks about how Marvel turned down a Whedon and Hitch pitch for Spider-Man Smh

That literally would have been my favorite book ever

Link to that interview?

I recently read Age of Ultron on Marvel Unlimited.

It was the worst.

Like I have so many complaints.

It's pretty obvious the point of the comic changed like 5 times while it was being made. I remember when it was originally planned it was only going to be one extra sized issue. Angela really comes out of nowhere.

The consequences of AoU felt completely detached from what actually happened in the story.

Angela on the moon...uh okay.
Time is broken. This one sorta fits, but could have happened at the end of any ongoing book that had a time travel arc at the time, which was basically every book.

Yeah quick Marvel question. Is time travel to before AoU is still impossible?

What book could Stjepan Sejic be drawing 12 pages of Poision Ivy for? Harley have another annual coming up?

Also. Sunstone is out this week. If you like good friendship/relationship fun, bdsm, Girly hijinks please give it a go. It has real heart.

How can you not find Alley adorable :D

He also had an upcoming mini series about Ultimate Cap that he wrote himself that got ultimately (hehe) scrapped

I could have gone the rest of my life not hearing this information

Yeah I remember reading how AoU was the event that brole time and leads to incursions. Outside of that, its just another silly wolverine memory

At least we got some nice Hitch pages out of it. Dude was perfect for a dystopian superhero comic

Why'd I wait so long to finish Zero Year? The whole thing was amazing.

Liking what I've read of Gotham Academy and the new Catwoman. New Batgirl seems alright, going to read a few more issues and see what I think,

Are any of the Futures End issues worth reading?

Don't you think the whole "girly hijinks" thing is a little condensending? Anyway, have this on special order. Better be worth it, Messi. :p

I dunno what the hell is going on with Mitch Gerads in Punisher. He went from this:

to this:

The fuck????????????????

Yeah, it's so goddamn weird, does the dude not reference his past work? I loved his perfect Frank design in the earlier issues, I hope he tries to return to that.

I'm also curious if him and Edmondson will still be on one of the two Punisher books next year (I'm thinking one of them could be a MAX title).

I dunno man I kinda love the new one. Real cartoony. Prolly wanted to be as far from reference material as possible these days.

Ice cold.

I'm not saying it's bad, but it's inconsistent. He should stick with one style or another, and hell, just in Issue 12, it feels like he keeps swapping between the two near the end

Yeah, his rendition of Frank in the early issues is pitch-perfect. That's exactly how he should look in the MU.

And I really hope that he and Edmondson stick around for one of the two new series next year. I love their run.

Totally man, although if Rucka came back I would literally jump for joy upon reading the news.

Edmondson and Rucka on the two books would be killer, give me an editor's job!

Superman #37 is it for me, and maybe They're Not Like Us #1.
I'm excited to read impressions of They're Not Like Us. Nowhere Men was so good, so I am really jazzed about another original Eric Stephenson book.

I've been reading through Rucka's run again recently, and I'd go ape if Rucka returned. As different as Edmondson's interpretation as different is, I really prefer Rucka's vision of the Punisher.

I doubt Rucka will return, but if he did, he would have to bring back Marco Checchetto. hile Gerald really does a stylized reality well, Chechetto get's the dark and rough.

Glorious.

This villain is a'ight in my book.

After reading I can see why some people might have been upset. But I didn't see it so much as transphobic but more the reality of how people might react to the "reveal" that Dagger made on the stage. The "evil Trans-character" trope is still a legitimate complaint in my eyes but I liked the character. But I may just have a thing for evil Fashionistas

Also the article that complained about the lack of Alysia is even more dumb now that I realize she has been in 2 of 3 of this teams book. I think the author wouldn't be happy unless Alysia was the main character.

so...time to talk ravine

the book tanked...

and i mean the book tanked hard.

we are talking about 5000% losses on effort versus profit XD

on book 2 i received profits that would usually pay for me making 5 pages of a comic. ravine was a 160 page book

so... where do i take it from here

do i quit?

FUCK NO!

the book is good. i have no doubts about that. book 2 is far better than book 1 and book 3 will surpass them both

but the facts are simple. the book never found an audience.

so i have made a decision

i will apply to ravine the same approach i have done with sunstone

true, i never had any intention of publishing sunstone and it was the fans demand that made me make that decision. and you know what?

fans stepped up!

in fact the way things are going there is a good chance i will in late 2015 onward focus on sunstone very intensively. fans have more than earned it, and for that they have my most sincere gratitude :)

and now, i am going to do the same with ravine.

ravine is turning into a webcomic first format

don't get me wrong i have no delusions of making any big money from this book but it is a labor of love... looots and looots of love XD

same quality, same style, just, starting in 2015, book 3 will be posted page by page online first and as each book is finished it will be subsequently published in printed format

so there it is.

this is going to be my third deviantart account now XD it will take some time till i upload the first 2 books as i am reformatting them for an easier read :)

:iconwanderers-of-ravine:

and please, don't think this is a bad thing.

i can't even describe to you the love that i have for the webcomic format.
it is a far more immediate format that lets me interact with people more often and far easier

Damn. Really sad to see that sales were so poor. The book was really good and visually incredible. Glad to see he us not giving up and that he will eventually still be releasing the pages in a trade. But still 5 pages worth of profit for a 160 page book :/

Babs Tarr also posted this tease on instagram. Looks hot. Can't wait to see what she us doing with Wonder Woman.

Yeah I bought the first book off Amazon for $5 like a year ago. It just never clicked with me. The art is technically beautiful but it was like a series of static poses with no sense of movement or action. Also, anytime someone was yelling or something their expression was borderline porn facey. Lastly, the backgrounds clashed against the characters. It felt like photoshopping realistic people against a painterly background.

Even if it's not as detailed I feel his Sunstone style is much more appealing.

Can't speak for the story as I fell off pretty quick. Just couldn't handle the issues I listed.

I finished Learning to Crawl. It was a pretty good story overall and emulated the old Steve Ditko style pretty good.

Just all these modern devices really bugged me out. All the Smartphones and Tablets make me feel like Peter started his superhero career maximal 4 years ago, and thats way to few.

I know that in some cases this doesnt work good, espescially when Origins are tied to real historic events (Iron Man comes to mind), but when there are no ties, I highly prefer to let be more hidden, when the story takes place.

Anyway, after reading this story, I would love to start my old Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus with the first 30 Issues again and maybe read the Untold Tales Omnibus as a Companion Book^^
