Is it possible All Star Superman peaked for me at issue 3? That issue was so fantastic and everything I wanted that everything since has been only ok. Then again I am only on issue 6.

Here are the big runs/series/events I want to read, can you guys pick one for me to start on?

Infinity HC plus most tie-ins
Uncanny X-Force #1-35
Avengers vs. X-men plus most tie-ins
X--Statix OMNI
Avengers SA OMNI

First 3 are digital master race, last 2 are print.

It's on Comixology for 99 cents a issue hurry now !

Give Captain America Castaway in Dimension Z a try...

unless you have no interest in Captain America whatsoever.

Gasp!

I just read the requirements! I can't agree to that. Messi has me on a Harley Quinn indoctrination program.

Please, I don't have to indoctrinate anyone while the book is good. Its when the quality slips that you will see my true power as a spin artist.

Btw, a while back there was a discussion about dc having a house style that their books fall into and more and more I am seeing that style and it mostly affects the bat books. Batgirl, Catwoman (yeah booooi), birds of prey, suicide squad all fall into that catagory. They could have been drawn by the same person. I am not saying the style is bad its just not very distinctive. I am very glad Harley Quinns book has sidestepped that style and has a very distinctive look that is helping sell the content.

Jetblack, if you don't vote for harley you are in trouble. you best believe.

It's true. I didn't need much encouragement. Also I think the Most recent Birds Of Pray cover is awesome.

-Blankets was good, but I prefer his more recent book, Habibi.

-Powergirl is great. Do it.

-I liked Fatale a lot at the beginning, but my interest in it has waned recently. I still liked it as far as the content in volume 3 goes. I think volume 4 would be where the book started to flounder.

If you're open to suggestions, I'd definitely recommend I Kill Giants if you have yet to read it.

Thanks, I went with I Kill Giants instead of Blankets. Also got Thor: God Butcher since I haven't read much Marvel and it seems fun.

I think you're Harley obsession is making you exaggerate a little bit, but what you say is essentially true. It's a fun book with pretty art. My only complaint about it is that sometimes the humor is a bit too sophmoric and unimaginative. I mean, some of those puns in #3 were groan-inducing.

Maybe a little bit, but I am not going to lie to people here and say its good when its not. Like you wont see me here promoting Catwoman.

I wish Catwoman was a good book. I do. I wish Gotham City Sirens never ended, then they'd only have to worry about making the one book good.

I want Catwoman to be good so badly as I love Selina as a character. But the quality will never improve while Ann Nocenti is allowed to continue writing it. Its sad because you can see the potential in an issue like the Zero Year issue written by John Layman. It was so much better than the regular series.

Well atleast someone else will write Catwoman in eternal. Unless Nocenti gets to write in eternal.

SHOCKING TWIST

Even though Selina has a different role in Eternal, I'm still very much looking forward to it. Between that, Harper Row, and Stephanie Brown, I'm hoping Eternal gives me the Batman I've been missing since Zero Year started.

I kind of like where they are taking her character. It's a bit of a departure, but it's a natural one. It feels like the kind of thing she'd do, given the right series of events.

Absolutely, given stupid amounts of money Selina would clearly go after power next. Its an interesting take because it highly likely puts her at odds with batman.

It sets up an interesting dynamic between them. She has affection for Bruce, but she'll always look out for herself first.

Uncanny X-Force omnibus may actually have a digital code. I just received my Infinity omnibus and that has a digital code included.

How many are there?
TEN.

EDIT:

All-New Ghost Rider
Avengers Undercover
Captain Marvel
Daredevil
Iron Patriot
Magneto
Moon Knight
Secret Avengers
Silver Surfer
Wolverine and the X-Men

Plus, PLUS, a bunch of "#.NOW" jumping-on point issues starting new arcs for existing series. March and April are both going to be HUGE months.

I'm in for the bolded ones for a few issues, and maybe Silver Surfer. But that preview was awful.

I'm intrigued because I've learned that one of the three is a female character. Is she and involved and compelling character?

Her character isn't really focused on tbh. :/

The Three are a team and stick together throughout the series, the focus is on their dynamic, conversations and actions. I like all of them but Damar is probably downplayed the most. There is also a lot of historical narrative about Spartan politics and traditions. Gillen worked with a historical consultant to make this series as authentic as possible.

I think the last issue may be my most anticipated comic this week.

Kipp

but I am taking tiny steps forward

I really, really hope Silver Surfer ends up being good. I want more Allred art in my life. And I like the premise quite a lot. But yeah, that preview doesn't give me high hopes.

Yes. It's very isolated from everything else

I read the first issue and felt pretty lost, since I've pretty much read nothing X-Men. It seemed like almost all the non-fighting dialogue was referencing major X-Men events that I don't know about. Is that a normal thing in the series or does Remender kind of shed that stuff and do his own thing after the first few issues? I really want to want it, but yeah.

Hope it becomes a regular thing, even if it's just for the bigger hardcovers.

Oh man, I'd be so happy if all the omnibuses/OHCs started coming with digital codes. It'd give me a bigger excuse to spend money on them if I knew I could get them even cheaper effectively.

Vol. 5 was the start of a new ongoing that followed up the previous Ghostbusters series. It was a series with a new temporary team, i think it was only a few issues long though. I dunno why they don't have the first volume of the previous series for sale though

Well I'm thinking of putting together an instocktrades purchase. Need some opinions though. Somethings I'm thinking about picking up:

Blankets - Don't know anything about it, heard it's good. Might be a good switch after reading superhero books and my Planetary Omni.

Zero - Again, don't know anything. I generally like spy stuff and I saw that it was at 50% off so I figure it's worth a look maybe?

Morrison's Batman run - Well, the start of it. Probably the first 3 trades through Batman RIP.

Fatale Vol 3 & 4 - Loved 1&2, but my copies are down in GA with most of my collection and I just don't think I'll remember what was going on.

Powergirl - Again, no clue but it looks fun.

Johns GL run - Read Blackest Night and now I"m going back. Just finished Rebirth.

Anyone else have any suggestions or opinions on the books I don't really know about? I mostly read DC and Image, but I'm always up to looking into Marvel if someone can point me to the god-tier level comics are.

I know I'm a grumpy git but I would skip Green Lantern since you've already read the best bits. IMO the GL run was fun (up to Blackest Night, it fell off a cliff directly after) but the trouble is that the stuff up to BN isn't that good as actual stories. It's more world building and piece-moving getting ready for BN. Since you've read that the essential tension and mystery of the plot is lost, leaving you with typically empty Geoff Johns fluff.

All your other choices look good.

As for Marvel... man, I could list 10 god-tier books they're putting out. But I'll stick with the Holy triumvirate. If you've not read Hawkeye, Daredevil or Thor yet you should really get on that.

Man I thought 6 was even better than three but that MIGHT be because of all the DC One Million callbacks/forwards. The Chronovore was a throwaway Morrisonian line that he then made AWESOME and the golden Superman at the end produced ocular precipitation when I first read it cos I'm a sucka.
