also read Rocket Raccoon today, got a few "Bendis" vibes coming from it but otherwise it was a fun read.

Thor: God of the Thunder was the best book I read today though.

In the amazon's comixology survey I made sure to ask for discount to subscribers, so they would at least cost the same that print editions cost.

So the digital code for Rocket Raccoon is supposed to include Guardians of the Galaxy Tomorrow's Avengers right? I redeemed my digital copy and I'm not seeing any way to get it on Comixology...

I was wondering the same, I redeemed it and all i got was the RR issue

so if I understand Original sin correctly Fury
has been culling superbeings for the last 50 years..... smh. It would of been cooler if Marvel connected original sin to the Sheild mythology book, especially with Howard Stark Guest starring
I'm still hoping for a connection or mention to be made. Plus, Secret Warriors already established there was a link, I haven't checked the years but this is very probably pre-Heavenly Wheel.

Otherwise, that was pretty badass.

Thought the art in Rocket Racoon was INCREDIBLE. Did not really dig the writing though. It wasn't bad by any means but just was not my cup if tea. Think this book is getting way too much hype that will work against it.

This is the very last chance I'm giving East of West. If this week doesn't deliver, it's getting dropped.

I've spent the past couple of hours reworking my pull list, and I'm giving myself a limit of $20-$22 a week. There just seems like so much that can be trade-waited.

Yeah the art and coloring were out of this world. Best looking comic I've seen in a while.

The story was alright IMO. I liked the dialogue more than Bendis Guardians but it's just one issue so it's kind of early to see. I'm on board for this arc at least.

That's a really nice number to fall on. It cuts out a lot of the crap, and rounds you off at a nice $80-100 bucks a month. It's much easier to budget other comic/entertainment expenses that way.

Also, when our hobby comes under scrutiny from others who say we spend "too much" per week, the average smoker spends over $500 a month on cigarettes. Not to compare our hobby to something that can kill you, but there is a fair bit more satisfaction from what we spend a month vs. what it costs for other hobbies + future medical bills from smoking.

Sometimes I feel like Catwoman will kill me.

But I agree with you 100%

The fact that it exists is significant. It's the movie selling comics. All these extra Guardian comics would never have existed without the movie.
I'm alright with that, even if it's suggesting that movies are saving the comic industry.

Deadpool vs X-Force could've been more fun, but it was just kinda bland

New Warriors is New Warriors, which is to say it's still good fun

Same. I almost didn't buy today's issue. I don't dislike the book, but it's definitely been more of a slow burn than is usual for Hickman. This is something more akin to a Nick Spencer timeline.

It's not that I don't think you can do it, but I don't think you can do it. I spend around $30 a week, and that's with mostly what I consider essential reading. Spent $23 today, but weeks like this seem to be the exception and not the rule. Image puts out too many good books, and Marvel puts out too many $3.99ers.

WTF. I come home early today to eat some pork belly and read some Doom Patrol and I find my apartment roof leaking (almost right above my books/figurine shelf). -_-

Snagged the (Starlin variant) Infinity Gauntlet omnibus off IST yesterday, and they just sent the shipping confirmation. :)

I recently read the 2 Infinty Gauntlet TPBs. So I'm in no rush to read the omni right now. Had to jump on the release week deal though

Just finished today's comics. Moon Knight was beyond awesome. The visuals in the last issue were great and all, but the action in this week's one was just ridiculously good. It has this rare quality that action scenes play as a movie in your head, which most comics for some reason don't manage to evoke.

I'm pretty sure Warren Ellis saw "The Raid" movie.
Yep, when reading it I literally thought "this is essentially The Raid in comic form".

Also Batman/Superman was pretty awesome. The Punisher felt inspired by "Lone Survivor" and was much better than the last issue. Magneto was rather meh. Batman Eternal was slow. Not much happening. I expected the whole
plan to let the police catch Bats to be more elaborate/epic
.

what's worse, the book ending at #6 or Hawkeye just not existing anymore

I can forgive a book ending at six. Ellis does his thing, it's fully planned out, he gets a fully capable artist and challenges him to do his best work, it's released in a timely manner and when the books done he's already got other projects lined up.

Not everybody can be Remender, Hickman or Aaron.

Do you guys feel like Infinity Gauntlet still holds up well? I know so many of you are indifferent, and sometimes even prefer classic art. However, for a reader more in tune with the modern stuff, is it still worth reading?

I have spent the past few days debating which cover I want more. I just can't decide.

The Perez cover is a classic, but I think the Starlin cover is better. But hey, I don't have any nostalgia for IG. It was my first time reading it recently.

the variant is sold out at CGN, but I'm not sure about IST.

I read it recently. I'd say it holds up.
