This week's issue of Thor was so Viking badass. I can see how people might think It's dragging on a bit but it remains a priority read for me.

Dude, I deal with this shit all the time. I start reading something, then it gets killed off five issues later. Fuck every publisher except Image. Right in the mouth.
It's a fun story. Nothing amazing, but it's a solid book. Those covers, though.

As much as I like the creative use of negative space, that costume design is especially stupid.
Plus Bacchalo uses it *far* too much.
I feel like every female character Bacchalo draws is wearing that costume.

I've complained about it before, but the Uncanny X-Men costumes suck. Emma Frost "The White Queen" is not only wearing all black, but that weird half shirt thing. Magik looks almost identical. Magneto looks like he's supposed to be in Camelot.
Compare those to the Brian Wood X-Men costumes.
Also, does that Journey Into Mystery picture mean it went for 655 months before it got canceled? That seems like quite a run.

Maybe! Change had moments of transcendence but (having not reread it all in a chunk yet) I have some doubts whether it hangs together on the whole.
I really really liked this comic. Zeb Wells is great at characterization in general... he did a lot of the highlight issues of BND-era Spidey and he understands that Elektra as a character, in the tradition of Miller, only works when we have some distance from her or a male narrator to parse her through.

Really liked this issue as well, not only was it refreshing to see Joe Mad but to see ole Pete again icing on the cake. I also loved the callbacks to Wolverine Enemy of the State when Wolverine and Elektra teamed up.

Nah, JiM and Thor have kept their numbering and switched their titles a couple of times (they have also been knocked back to 1 a few times only to have other numbering restored at other points).
It all got merged together again in 2009 so Thor could be published as Thor #600 and then at 622 it became JiM again. 622-645 (2011-2012) was Gillen's Loki run, and 646-655 (2012-2013) was Immonen and Schitti's Sif run.
