I had the same feeling. The start is very focused on blood and gore. But after a few chapters the story gets more and more important. And its a blast to read how it all unfolds.

I took a personal day off today (nearing my maximum accrual limit) and spent half the day catching up on my floppies. Burned through some really good ones and not-so-great books. Maybe I gotta check out this Infinity Man and the Forever People.

To be honest, Crossed was never my thing. It always came across as torture porn and shock-value fodder. I flip through it once in a while just to see what horrific things they come up with, but it's not something I purchase. I understand it has its audience, and that's fine. It just isn't for me.

There are a more than just one crossed comic. Badlands etc are boring and shit. WYWH is by far the best one and worth a look if you like a good story and can endure the violence. So its the same as Berserk (endure the violence and rape in the manga and you get a good story).

I always felt that Crossed was a little too over the top. Pushed it into hilarious country rather than fucked up. "Girls" is more what I want from something trying to be horror and violence. Has the right amount of psychological and physical squick.

Gore doesn't bother me, I devour each new chapter of Berserk as it comes out. It's just that Crossed seems to use it as a gimmick, if not a crutch. It's gore for the sake of gore, and it's taken to extremes. I mean, did that woman in the first trade really need to be raped with a garden aerator? Really? I can forgive stuff like that if there's a story I find appealing enough. But if I was interested, I'd be reading it. It's not for everyone.

Thats not from WYWH i believe. WYWH started with a guy raping a dolphin. There is only 2 gross moments in WYWH. And both were short (first one is 2 panels long and the second one is a few pages).
And again. WYWH is not like the rest from Crossed. You dont have to read it and i understand what you mean. Imo WYWH is just better than the rest and should not be treated like the rest from the series.

I find my self staring at my shit at times. I have like 15-20 of my signed booked hanging up on my man cave wall, some framed,, and a few signed prints as well. I have Superior Spider-Man #17 & #18 comic and print each signed hanging up ,, nice to have them paired with each other. Same with Batman Eternal #1 print and comic signed.

Just saw the preview for Amazing Spider-Man 3 and I'm not too crazy about Black Cat's new outfit. I like the fur around the neck and the belt around her waist but it needs more white or something to make it more visually interesting.

I dunno, I think it would look better if the fur was white and the gloves/boots were white like her old outfit. The belt being white would look pretty nice too IMO. I don't dislike it but I don't think it's as good as her old outfit.
If you don't want to go digital you could find a cheap copy off of ebay.
Got a little more reading in...i'm not thrilled with Original Sin #3 and 4, it does feel like it's one of those " all the interesting stuff isn't in this book" events and that's a bummer. Avengers #30 was okay, seemed vague on content. "Things and things and stark's a jerk" Avengers #29 was a lot better until it transitioned into this time travel arc.
Finally got around to starting Private Eye and I'm LOVING it so far. The future that BKV created is super interesting (it's a little bit silly too, but I'm fine with that since it's pretty fascinating as well) and Marcos Martin's art is really great too. The colorist is doing a very nice job as well.
I hope this ends up getting a hardcover like 300 with the two-page-spread sized pages. I'd really like to own a physical copy of it eventually.
Also, we need to make a point to recommend Private Eye to more of the people who come in here looking for indie books to read. I mean, it's great and it's free. Seems perfect to recommend.

Blue Exorcist Volume 1 and the first two volumes of Rosario+Vampire are also on sale.
Hopefully Viz gets JoJo's Bizarre Adventure out on the platform. Especially since they announced they're gonna be localizing Phantom Blood.
As far as I am aware they are just the same sales as the ones that viz do.

Wednesday it is for Harley Black and White statue. Shop owner has them already, he got 3 of them. He is holding one of them for me so long is I show up at opening.
I know most of you guys probably don't care since most of you read it three years ago when the issues I'm reading came out, but man, I just can't get enough of Waid's Daredevil.
Waid's writing and plot points are so clever and well-thought-out, but not at all convoluted. It's a real treat and something you really don't see too often.

I'm going to hope mine gets some in as well, because I haven't been able to rely on BBTS lately.
I care. Waid's Daredevil is my current favorite monthly and every issue since 2011 has been phenomenal (well, maybe except for 2 or 3, but that's one helluva track record!). It tugged on my emotions like no other comic has before. That reminds me, I need to rummage through my Marvel digital codes to see what has/hasn't expired and offer them up before they do.

Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I? #1
Spinning off the Amazing Spider-Man series, Peter Parker wakes up from amnesia and slowly starts to realize that he's in the middle of a bank heist. Only this time, he starts to realize that he's a part of it and not thwarting it! It's a very fun and playful story that is worth a quick read, even considering that it was free. Now, the cover is a bit misleading (which comic book cover nowadays isn't?
). It shows Spider-Man swinging away from a captured Shocker. Shocker does not appear in this book but I guess he could in #2? Finally, for a Spidey book, there's a lot of black space.
If anyone wants the Marvel digital code to Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I? #1, first reply to request it gets my PM. I also still have Original Sin #4 that wasn't claimed when I posted it a day or two ago.

Picked these up at the library today. Apart from Burma Chronicles and Chew, I am going in blind on the other three. Hope they are good.
