See, I knew Marvel wasn't inferior to DC.

Got Big Damn Sin City in the mail today, holy shit it's gigantic. And moving it is an effort. I should use it for my workouts. XD Awesome book, though. They went with glossy pages this time instead of the softer paper they used in the original printings. I caught the Sin City film on one of the movie channels last night and it gave me the desire to reread Sin City. Just in time.

My B&W Harley statue also showed up today. #3274 out of 5200.

Saw the Sin City omnibus in person today and honestly didn't think it was as ridiculously huge as you guys made it out to be.

Did anyone read all of Trillium? What are your general opinions of it and how far you got?
I read all of Trillium and thought the story was interesting. I appreciated the literal twist. I was never exposed to Lemere's art before, but it worked well in this book. It would make a cool movie or mini series!

It is ridiculously huge. The Invisibles omnibus may be a bit bigger, but both books are the very definition of unwieldy.

Didn't seem any bigger than my JSA vol 1 omnibus. The Invisibles on the other hand, good lord that thing is huge. What's the binding like on it?

Very nice. I can't wait to get mine in the mail. It will look great on the shelf right next to Colossal Conan. Haha

If the binding on Sin City is anything like Colossal Conan, it's fantastic binding. Conan lays really flat.

Just read Uncanny Avengers volume 3...

Why was I not reading this series sooner. I'm seriously tempted to catch up on Comixology right now, I don't want to wait until the fourth trade comes out.

Man that's so cool! This is probably a stupid question, but where do people typically acquire pages like that? Cons?

Lots of places - cons are good (especially since you can get stuff straight from the artists) and there's usually a bunch of dealers.

A lot of artists use sellers like Splashpageart.com or Cadencecomicart.com as well.

Both of the pages I own are from the NYCC charity auction.

The most I would spend on a page is about a grand, and it would have to be a page I really love. Hopefully that could get me something nice at NYCC this year.

That will get you a lot! You could probably get the cover to your favorite comic with that much.

Wow! To be honest with you I thought I was lowballing it. I just want one or two nice
Pieces that I can frame and hang up. My biggest fear is sun damage. I really don't want the paper to yellow out.

Yeah, a thousand can go pretty far depending on what you are interested in. I paid 150 for my Hulk page and 100 for the X-Force one...though I still chalk that up to them not having a slide for the X-Force one so most of the room didn't really get to see it. Definitely check out the auction this year, it's usually 8PM through when the Javits staff get pissed and shut the lights off on Saturday of the show.

Here's the ones I own..

Those are very nice! How hard is it to get specific when it comes to pages? I want something nice from Saga, which is easy enough, but I specifically want something from
Daredevil #30. It's my favorite issue of Waid's run.

That's pretty much never going to happen no matter how much you pay :(

There are original pages by quite a few artists on this website: http://cadencecomicart.com/index.php

(Most importantly, Chris Burnham's art is on there. I like to look at it sometimes and wish I was impulsive with spending money.)

Edit: Ooh. This website has quite a lot of J.G. Jones stuff. The interior pages from Final Crisis are actually pretty cheap... http://www.anthonyscomicbookart.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=30212&ArtistId=468&Details=0&From=Room

Second Edit: One more website that has quite a few artists: http://www.splashpageart.com/artists.asp

I stumbled upon the Delcan Shalvey art on the one site, and my god that's amazing stuff.

Edit: thought I was editing that last post to be honest lol

Daredevil #22 is close enough, right? http://www.splashpageart.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=25060&ArtistId=123&From=Title

Whoa! Didn't notice that was on there! That is incredible stuff. And pricey.

I don't read X-Men but it's so strange how everyone hates Yost's stuff on X-Men. He did an amazing job on Scalet Spider and New Warriors has been great the last few issues.

Do they handle the X-Men THAT poorly?

Yeah, new warriors has found it's footing and the issues are entertaining. it survives to stay on my pull list for yet another week.

Oh wow! Yeah! The Stilt Man issue was cool! I may be int....that's $4,000. I don't think I could ever get that. Thanks for getting me excited lol.

Haha. Sorry. :p
But yeah, covers are maaaaassively more expensive than interiors.
I personally think an interior page would be more interesting to have an original of anyways. Maybe that's just my wallet influencing me though. Haha

Speaking of Stilt Man though, you can totally buy the first appearance issue of Stilt Man for like $20-30. It's a pretty sweet cover, too. For a moment a while back I was tempted to buy it just for fun.

Also, totally didn't know Stilt Man made an appearance in Waid's Daredevil. So excited to get to that issue now.

If I ever pick up some original art (which I want too but cannot afford currently), it would be Jerome Opena.

Ooh yeah. That'd be super cool. This one is pretty cool for "only" being $150: http://www.kwanchang.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=9164&ArtistId=561&Details=0&From=Room
