COMICS! |OT| June 2016. The Manhattan Project

I don't have any reason to doubt the DC-HB books are quality comics, I just have too many books as it is right now and the concepts don't interest me all that much. I'm glad they all turned out good.

Freeza fighting the GOOD FIGHT.

I've always had the opposite problem, amusingly. I learned like all of my vocab by reading, so I can spell everything, but occasionally fuck up pronunciation :p

Daredevil #1 was pretty uneventful. Mostly just established he's back in New York and that Matt's identity is a secret again. It only took half a page but I already hate Foggy. I'll give it a couple more issues but I don't see myself stick with this one for long.

Now on to Ex X-Men #3.

Happy to report I just picked up 2 comics from my first pull list ever. #ItBegins

Civil War II Amazing Spider-Man #1 (of 4)
The Flash: Rebirth #1

I'm glad this comic shop does 20% and free bag and board.

They had to do something different with Scooby and the others. None of you would be checking out a scooby doo comic if it didn't have some kind of different hook. The last time any of you cared about scooby was the crossover with Harley and Ivy and I only remember 1 or 2 people bought it.

I would of bought an scooby doo series if it got revived like archie.

You're right. A Wacky Races comic? I wouldn't even read the preview if it wasn't so different from what I remember.

Many of us weren't even around at that point.

Daredevil: Casino Royale had a lot of interesting ideas but I feel like the Elektra arc was cut short. I was really enjoying it.

As long as we never have to hear about Tenfingers ever again I'm a happy camper

Plz don't do this to yourself...pretend it isn't real like Lemire's Hawkeye.

Lets say tomorrow Fox decides to give back the X-Men to Marvel (its never gonna happen but hear me out). Do you think Marvel Comics could save the X-Men from the state they are in now? Would they put top talent on those books and make them the face of team books again? Would the Inhumans become much less important?

Yes. To all of it.

It always goes in cycles. In the 90s the Avengers were saddled with unrelenting garbage most of the time. It took Busiek and Perez to Make Earth's Mightiest Heroes Great Again. It'll come round again, it just might take awhile.

Unless you're the Fantastic Four. Then you're just screwed.

Well they were going to make Remender the X-book guy instead of Lemire before he left Marvel so I don't think they have a problem putting top talent on the books. I think the Inhumans would be used less, but Marvel would probably continue trying to do something with them.

Is the result not obvious? XvI.

How can you call a human glob, a brain in a jar and a person whose skin is literally made of eyes useless?

Glob and Anole were the best thing about this issue.

Those guys are students at least. It's not like every mutant is a member of the X-Men or even has a cool/useful power.

Wouldn't need to be every one though. But you'd think the number of useful mutant refugees would still be higher than 1.

It's one of the best ones, the stories especially get amazing when Duncan Fegredo starts doing the art.

I really dig Power Man and Iron Fist, Mockingbird, and Black Widow. All of them are still early on.

Moon knight

Power man and iron fist

Trust

All these books are at six issues or less and super easy to jump into: Black Widow, Mockingbird, Moon Knight, and Power Man and Iron Fist. All rad comics.

edit: Actually I guess all four of those are at four issues or less. Even better!

Nice, will look into those.

BTW, I meant outside of the Rebirth books, not DC Comics in general, if there was any confusion there.

Sandman Mystery Theater next week. I've heard about this series from old guys and I've heard it's quite good. I'm in for the first volume of the reprint and I'll see if I like it from there.

The rumors around that time were that the X-Men were going to be moved to outer space but then he and X-editors were replaced and we got something similar to that so eh.

I'm not the biggest Remender fan so I'm not sure how I would've felt about it. I think Lemire is doing a decent job, though it could be better.
