So I finished Avengers Arena vol. 1 and, well, my feelings are somewhat mixed. Granted, it's pretty quality, but it still has a gimmicky/shock value stench to it.
I hate that Mettle had to go, though is it too late to hope that Nico and Chase make it?
Anyway, it seems that those who are loving it are still loving it, though, so should I just carry on?

Garbage 90s T&A bad-girl character gets garbage 90s-esque T&A bad-girl redesign. And given that Gaiman is co-writing at least one arc in the book featuring her, does anyone else find it strange that, AFAIK, he hasn't given one interview on the subject?
He'll probably be interviewed about it. He just reblogged that on his tumblr, where he also jokes about her looks:

It’s true.

It’s also true that, since the first time Todd drew her back in ‘92, I’ve thought, “I wonder if she owns a cardigan…? She must be so chilly.”

I wish someone would just break Land's hands.

Ok, ok that is a little cruel. But they could at least take away all his porno magazines so he can't trace anymore.

Ya know what? Morrison should've written the Frankenstein comic series, it could be Frankenstein going up against whatever sick and crazy ideas or threats Morrison thinks up.
The Frankenstein story is my fav. in Seven Soldiers.

Man arguin' about Spider-Man in that ASM2 thread just made me remember the amazing Chris Sims article about the character.

Pouring one out for Comics Alliance now. =(

Should I give Uncanny Avengers another chance? I dropped it a while ago so I would be a few issues behind, but I was just getting sick of all the delays, and Remender's writing in particular I thought was very disappointing after coming off of Uncanny X-Force. (which is a favorite of mine)

Delays are fixed.

Writing is the same as it was.

Art is fire.

Your call.

It's definitely better, although he's still doing that Roy Thomas narration thing that went out of style 20 years ago.

I'm enjoying it a hell of alot more than the first four issues, at any rate. Bye Cassaday, your services are no longer required

MarvelGAF be honest with me, the only reason anyone cares about Angela is because it's Neil Gaiman, right? If the circumstances were exactly the same but it was a Rob Liefeld or Tony Daniel character, would anyone care at all?

Pretty much.

I personally don't even give a fuck about Angela now, she's not going to be the same Angela as the Spawn universe so meh. She's a better fit in DC's universe with Specter and stuff. But in a universe in whcih a good 2/3 of the roster laugh at the notion of a judeo-christian god let alone a warrior of said god, I don't see her point.

Yep. The legal disputes over the character are way more interesting than the character herself.

I don't care about Angela at all. In fact this seems like a stupid idea. Marvel has always been sort of ambiguous about heaven and a judeo-christian style god. Sure there are stories like Waid's heaven issue, but those are easy enough to ignore/write off. They should just stick to their abstract cosmic entities. We don't need warriors of heaven mucking things up.

Gave Deadpool 7 and 8 a shot and still not liking it too much. And I can't get into Superior Spider-Man, at all. But I picked up Fearless Defenders and am enjoying that. Still gotta read UA and Thor.

That Batman/Superman art is nice, but I'm scared of how much my pull list will balloon if I dip my feet back in the DC pool.

Yup. Gaiman and hopefully a new run on marvel man are the present. Angela is the wrapping paper

My favorite Land Iron Man panel was the alien broad giving him drinks in space was the exact same broad he traced in the first issue. Four dollar book ladies and gentlemen.

And why am I supposed to be excited for Angela and Gaiman? Gaiman is just a literary renowned and accepted Bendis.
