It is a life decision, as it will significantly alter how I engage with and consume comics.And I don't buy trades at my LCS. IST has completely ruined that path for me. lol

I save my favourite tv series until they are done and I can watch the whole thing so trade life fits perfectly. Although, I bought 15 trades this week >_< time to lay off for a bit maybe.

I actually got that Joe Hill novel, The Fireman, through in the mail today. It's frickin huge. I've read novels exclusively on my kindle for like 6 years now, I forgot just how big a full sized 750pg hardback book is.
Finally you guys, weekend! Oh man. And I went to the local comics store for the first time (Eppo in Eindhoven) and daaaaamn, those guys don't kid around. What a fun store to visit and nice folks behind the counter. Bought USM #19 (its one of those out of print volumes, it was the last one in stock.) and got The Clone Conspiracy and Old Man Logan #12.

Hey hey hey Quentin is awesome! Him being a massive dick always livens up the place. The only thing I hate is the dummy writer who took over from Aaron and let his character regress back to his lame "I hate everyone and I'm so much cooler than everyone else" type. Seriously that bummed me out. At the time Aaron was writing Wolverine and the X-Men Quentin's character really took some steps forward and I liked it.

I've only read him in Morrison's New X-Men and Latour's Wolverine and the X-Men (the run you're referring to) and I couldn't stand the little prick.
I'd read it if it were true, but I'm not buying.
I also think it's funny that the people there are complaining about "already" bringing Jean back when she's been dead for nigh on 20 years at this point.

Yes unplanned. Yeah. I will still read comics but only keep the essentials. Hot Toys are off limits for awhile. I'm keeping my current preorders. Luckily my car is payed off in March so that's $250/month I get back in my pocket. Only put 35k miles on it in 6 years so it should last awhile. I think I'm going to put a combination lock on my office that has all my collectibles. (So serious). Wife and I talked about this last night. I was looking at all my stuff and I said "I know we have a kid on the way and that is the most important thing, but this stuff, material I know, but his stuff is important to me. I don't want to get rid of it and I would like to keep it displayed if possible" and she told me she respected that and we would make something work. Now I get to decorate a little he/she room with hopefully cool geeky things.

Oh for sure. Mine's is happy as long as it's my money. She spends a ton on tsum tsums and cross stitch and things I see no point in haha so we have an understanding.
This will become.your great passion haha. I get just as excited buying stuff for my kid as I do myself. Especially things that I loved in my childhood that have come back or that we can share in like superheroes, transformers or ninja turtles, Nintendo games and so on. I'm half as excited to show him the tmnt books I got as see.them myself. Now he can really comfortably read proper stuff, it's comics in general.
Read Aaron's WotXM and you'll take a liking to the guy.

Fantastic. There will be no waiting on that one. It's hard get a sense of where the series is really going in a larger way yet but I can't wait to see. Thematically I get it, but the plot is gloriously unpredictable.
Watching Pacific Rim for the 100th time. I love this movie. It's so honest about what it is and what it has to say. It doesn't dress it up or pretend to be anything more. It's just a great time with a simple but heartfelt message. The battles are incredibly choreographed.

We don't really do the movies much any more, our closest cinema is a consistently poor experience, but this is a movie I would love to have seen in the cinema or Imax or whatever.
Red Hood is my favorite minor DC character and I have watched Lobdel squander him for the past 5 years. So excuse me if I am a bit apprehensive in regards to his third try.
Besides, the first series was also buoyed by strong artwork until Rocafort inevitably left and it fell apart into sub-mediocrity.
As I said before: the plotting and the ongoing narrative of the series is very strong thus far. The fact that the dialog does not pull its weight is definitely important to mention.

I just jumped in yesterday. Literally just start at idw's TMNT vol 1. Change is constant. You can hit vol 5 before there's a side thing you *need* to read. Even then, the side series are by and large supplementary and straight forward. The Wikipedia page for the series lists the trades/issues in reading order. Dan advised me that if your skipping side stuff, the first thing you really shouldn't skip is secret history of the foot clan. Hope that helps. Oh and.if you go in at HC level, it's all in reading order, including side books.
