No multiversity in the sale, the reread must wait.
Wait, then how did you read it the first time? DID YOU SELL IT FOR LOOT BOXES?

Interesting cover for Doomsday Clock from Johns.

I was disappointed by this.No multiversity in the sale, the reread must wait.
And this.Damn, the second half of 52 new edition isn't on sale. Tempted to look into Morrison's Batman or JLA stuff.
It was back in the floppy days, I was going to buy the hardcover after selling the flops but then I didn't want to spend the money. Super cheap digital sale eventually...Wait, then how did you read it the first time? DID YOU SELL IT FOR LOOT BOXES?
There's got to be a point at which "We fucked up the trade which might sell for years and bring in new readers" becomes a bigger deal than the minor tie-in sales boost. I'm surprised we're not there yet tbh.
I think it's notable when new people come in and ask for recommendations on what to read the recommendations are always around creator runs that don't feature any (or very minimal) crossovers - Wheldon's X-men, Hawkeye etc.
Does Morrison's Batman and Robin have Dick Grayson as Bats?
I don't buy loot boxes!

I just passed the 1000 box mark!
Hell yeah, it does!
Thought I would change things up and finally turn "one day I will try some Manga" into a reality. Deciding where to start is difficult when you don't really have tastes to build on yet, but a few names came up repeatedly when I was looking at stuff so I grabbed 20th Century Boys by Naoki Urasawa, and two one and done volumes by Inio Asano: Nijigahara Holograph, & Solanin. I'm pretty sure Ty recommended Solanin ages ago so cheers for that. Not comic related I guess, but I haven't picked anything else up lately so that's all I've got.
Solanin is awesome. Couldn't really get into Nijigahara myself though.
True. It's probably not a cover, since it's directly calling back to the Watchmen print ads.
Haha I realise that Solanin and Pun Pun would have been the best place to start with Asano in terms of reception but I wanted a mix of books that were a long form series and some stuff that was one and done. Maybe I'll come back with some thoughts. That one actually arrived already and at very least I can say that is one nice HC, really nice high quality thing to own. I don't think I've had a Fantagraphics published book before.

FB have some of the best physical editions around. And there is so much variety too (in design and content).
Naoki Urasawa is incredible. I read most of manga from the library, but Urasawa is worth owning. Pluto and Monster are both incredible, and the one volume I've read of 20th Century Boys show great promise.
Haha it was close between going for Pluto or 20th Century Boys. I first heard of Urasawa in high school when Pluto started getting published, it always seemed like a really cool thing in concept. If I like these, Pluto will be next!

New Bartel print:
Oh man if you asked I'd have recommended Pluto or Monster over 20th Century Boys. The first 2/3 of 20th Century Boys is maybe one of my favourite comics ever but I don't think I've ever fallen out of love with something as quickly or as much as that
Pluto is great, you should read it even if you don't super love 20th Century Boys. I don't think I've ever been choked up by a comic so frequently.
Did you get the GCS and BoP ones?So bought. Loved the commission and delighted she decided to color and make prints.

Oh, is that the same as your commission?
Picked up the Vixen one-shot. Is she essentially Animal Man, power's wise? The art even looks like she is connecting to the Red. Also, Vixen is great!
Not my commission, someone else. But yeah it's the same line art... She's very clear when getting a commission she still owns all the print rights ect
Here's the commission
Same happened to me with Takara last year at nycc he coloured my commission and made prints and made it his entire con banner lol
oh ok. Is that the norm? I would assume fans might want commissions to be unique?
Bought the Punisher by Ennis omnibus from IST. Thought about getting the Planet Hulk one, too. But I already have the original hardcover and I think that's a perfectly readable size.
I'm not seeing a certain omnibus in your post.
You're absolutely right. And you never will.
IST is disgusting. It's cheaper to buy from them ship the Harley omni and Dodson HC 1 to Ireland 30$ shipping than buying local.
It ends up being 90$ vs 140$. Disgraceful.
Edit : I can add extremity vol 1 and wicked div HC vol 2 and it's still $20 cheaper than Harleys omni and Dodson Harley locally.
Doesn't that actually make your local comic shop disgusting?
Harley Quinn day should be the day everyone decides to stop reading comics. DC has taken things too far for too long.
The NYCC schedule is up.
I just noticed that Gwenpool is Marvels Harley.
This is relevant enough that the actual book would make a good "reading club" thread for OT.
