What's the point of Teen Titans and Young Justice existing at the same time?

Because you've got a Titans and a Teen Titans and it'd be easier if you just re-branded one as Young Justice. Nostalgia Factor + Season 3 of the Television Series + Reducing Possible Confusion.

Titans (or change it to Titans Forever): The classic original line-up plus the Wolfman-Perez folks, and maybe Damian hanging out because he loves his big brother Nightwing and hates Tim.

Young Justice: Recently returned Tim Drake, Cass Sandsmark, Bart Allen, Superboy, Aqualad. Maybe you sneak in Miss Martian and Arrowette.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Well. Creators told them "make your own comics". They listened. Now if they're really about the free market, they'll be fine whether their book succeeds or fails on its own merit.

I have to admit I'm curious.

It's twenty pages of this a month:

I would be surprised if Bart and to a lesser extent Superboy returned in the near future.

Fun fact: Part of the reason Geoff wanted to do Rebirth was because he felt characters had become unrecognizable in the New 52. One of those characters? Superboy.

Geoff also was responsible for bringing both of these characters back to life in Legion of 3 Worlds. They're an integral part of 90's and 00's DC, so to leave them out just because we've got N52 Wally and Jon Kent would be a bit of a shame.

Pffahahaha. You just know someone was referencing that exact comic. Hilarious.

Titans and Teen Titans only are separate because of the stuff that they deal with and the age gap between most of their member. There’s no need for a YJ book when you already have Teen Titans.

What is up with you and Marvel? Like, everyone here acknowledges they have serious problems, but you seem almost angry and vindictive.

It's just Marvel doesn't know what to do, DC stepped up their game while Marvel keeps stumbling around.

When yesterday's reveal happened, I just rolled my eyes because they punked out and Legacy not feeling like a new step but the same thing with things moved around, I'm cynical as fuck with them right now.

2012-2015 pre Wars was so fucking good and hit a lot of good spots and now, they have no idea what to do now, it's like $599 PS3 era Sony.

I want them to do better, I want them to succeed in books, I want the new kids to succeed but fuck me, so many fuck ups and Empire was my tipping point.

I wanted to say Maybe Empire will be good, Maybe Spencer has a good ending. Maybe...

*blows raspberry*

I'm flabbergasted with them, Green Arrow and Flash, those 2 books alone are fucking aces. Marvel has good shit but they aren't marketing that correctly.

I want people to read Hawkeye, Jean Grey, Gwenpool and the books they axed before now but no, they need to talk about what happened in Venomverse and Secret Empire and there's a mini event after the mini-mini event.

Give me a Riri book in Chicago.
Give me a Sam Nova book that was just as good as last one.
Promote Black Bolt the same as Mighty Thor.

I want them to do better.

Believe me, they want them to do better, too.

Based on what I read, I get the impression that DC is all about crafting engaging stories that people will want to read, whereas Marvel is thinking purely about what they think will sell. It doesn't help that there's a huge talent vacuum at Marvel right now. That Image exodus really hurt them where the talent at DC has remained pretty consistent.

Huge talent vacuum isn't even close to true. You continue to willfully ignore the talent they have.

A year and a half ago people were accusing DC of the exact same shit.

Loooooooooooooooooooool you can't comment on that while fuckin doing it yourself. Get out of here with that bullshit.
My thoughts exactly. This has happened in many mediums. A creator wants to criticize the way others work on the industry by satirizing them, but it often moves from irony to just doing the same exact thing as them. That's the worst.

There's no need for a lot of things that happen in comics other than "Would people like this?" , though.

DC shored up. Venditti proved he could write non-trash GL. Rucka came back. Priest came back. Steve Orlando and James Tynion stepped up. Gene Yang was given an actually good superhero book to work with. And that's before you get to newer writers like the Benson sisters.

Marvel's actually got a great amount of talent tho. Al Ewing, Jason Aaron, Mark Waid, G. Willow Wilson, and Charles Soule are all great.

The Image exodus hurt both companies tho, so I'm not sure why only Marvel takes the brunt.

Image exodus mostly refers to Mavel’s best writers taking to Image. None of those writers were working at DC at the time. Most of the people at DC right now are either new or those who were the brightspots of the new 52/DCYou era.Only notable writer that left DC was Jeff Lemire and that was because he got a Marvel exclusive. And now he’s back with a new book and a highly hinted at 2nd.

Yup they also have : Kelly Thompson, Christopher Hastings, Brandon Montclare and Amy Reeder, Ryan North, Chip Zdarsky, Dennis Hopeless, Mariko Tamaki, Kieron Gillen, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Greg Pak, Tom Taylor, Jason Latour and David F Walker.

So forgive me for not thinking these writers are a bunch of talentless scrubs. Every one of these peoples books are worth reading. That's before you get to Bendis who is currently doing 3-4 books containing some of the best work of his career and Slott finishing up a stellar run on Silver Surfer regardless of how you feel about his Spider-man.

Marvels problems are not talent related. They are a management and vision issue. There are many legit books being published by them right now once you step away from the event.

Wanna thank everyone who pointed out that Comixology links with Amazon accounts directly now. I grabbed their app and logged in with my Amazon account, no more Kindle app! What a huge QoL difference. :p

Just to reiterate, since I think I'm probably the only poor victim who downloaded and tried to use Amazon's Kindle App in a long time - IT STILL FUCKING BLOWS, PLEASE DO NOT USE IT.

Looooooooool.
