Conker Live & Reloaded

I was just looking over this thread:

http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=64151

And some people like Live & Reloaded, others don't. Of the ones who don't, they generally don't like the game period.

Has someone played both Bad Fur Day and Live & Reloaded? What are some of the differences? One person mentioned load time as a reason to get BFD over L&R. Anything else?

I'm asking because I picked up L&R back when it was on sale a month or so ago. It's still sealed (like most of my game purchases in the last 2 years...) But if BFD is the better version, it'd be easy for me to just get that instead.

I don't suppose it makes any difference. The gameplay is still dated, but at least with the Xbox version, you get some of the best graphics EVER seen on a current gen console, and a multiplayer mode.

I kinda liked it, loading times do get annoying, humor aint that fun(ny), the atmosphere rox, voice's rox, ending rox, mp part sux(everyone is just a sneeker and slashing heads of with the 3 times R combo)

Load screens are annoying as hell in Live and Reloaded. I also felt like the game was slightly less challenging. Dissapointed that Rare didn't fix a few problem--- like some really horrible controls at points in the game. I thought the N64 version was better.

It plays like the N64 version but with super awesome graphics, a controllable camera, and tons of loading points.

The live multiplayer was an unbalanced mess, I couldn't really get into it.

I've played both and I enjoyed Live and Reloaded quite a bit. The loading times are clearly the biggest drawback, but aren't game destroying IMO. I have only played BFD once back in 2001, so it was pretty fresh for me and I enjoyed it. It looks fantastic and I enjoyed the humor and variety. Certainly not my favorite platformer because the controls are a liitle weak, but it's still worth a playthrough IMO. However, I can totally see if someone had played BFD several times would not enjoy it as much.

To answer the question, at this point I would keep L&R and play through it because of the upgraded graphics and essentially similar gameplay rather than try and hunt down BFD.

Stick with LAR. It's got everything BFD had going for it plus great graphics and really improved controls. I always found the single-analog crap in BFD very difficult to use.

The loading times are annoying, but they don't kill the game or anything.

You sir, are a liar.

Oh yes they do. Them and the terrible controls, annoying censors, shitty new combat system, and recycled jokes.

Play BFD, stay away from L&R.

Loading times and additional censorship are annoying, but overall the only big difference between the two are the graphics.

Multiplayer is another story, but I didn't like the multiplayer in either game, so I can't really comment on that.

Not at all. It has really improved controls relative to the N64 game. I could barely play the cart...I played all the way through the Xbox version.

I didn't say it has GOOD controls. Just improved :)

i really hated this game.

HATED it.

Sure it looked pretty, but it controlled like crap, the camera didn't follow well at all, the loading was excessive, it wasn't funny and felt so damned dated. It just didn't "feel" like the N64 version at all.

The mutiplayer is kind a bad too.

DO NOT BUY.

I got it off the Xbox retail site I even still I felt ripped off.

I love playing this game off the HDD on my modded XBOx. ;)

I acutally liked the mutliplayer, the problem was the same with many popular XBL games. Too many idiots online who didn't play the game the way it was supposed to be played. But when I play with friends, the game is a blast!

But like someone said above the gameplay is still dated. I wouldn't recommned paying full retail, not when you've got digital crack like Far Cry: Instincts, but if you can pick it up for $20 or less, it's worth it.

I felt ripped off. I thought RARE did one of the most coolest things ever which was put the original N64 Conker game with jazzed up graphics then when you complete it you would then move on with the Conker story and play the new version. I thought very wrong...

Though, who feels more ripped off, me or Microsoft? I know they're PISSED with RARE at the moment.

I didn't like it much either but it's probably worth a rent to see if you like it or not. The biggest difference is the graphics, especially the lighting which is easily the best in any current gen console game imo. Shame about the not so good gameplay and not so funny toilet humour.

I'm on the other side of this fence.

I played through the N64 game without problems for the most part (only had problems in some tightrope area), but I can't play this one for shit on Xbox.

It's just a bad, bad, bad, experience.

I borrowed a copy of L&R and played it through, sure the graphics are nice but it was a chore to play. I would feel really jaded if I had bought it...

I have no idea what everyone is complaining about. The controls are fine, save for a few spots where there are some glitches, but other than that, they are OK. The game is worth playing for the graphics alone; yes they are that damn good. Who gives a shit about some barely metionable additional censorship. OH NOES, ONE EXTRA WORD IS BLEEPED OUT MY WORLD IS FALLING DOWN. I played through the game in 2001, and I played through in 2005. It still holds up. It is still fucking awesome.
