Could Microsoft be the most evilest company to ever exist?

Tin foil hat time folks.

Could Microsoft be the most evilest company to ever exist?

It appears that Microsoft are using Xbox as a testbed to see what they can get away with in terms of AI.

The problem is, if it succeeds, other companies will want to follow suit once they see a successful use case. This will no doubt cause a domino effect, presenting companies with an option to do the exact same, gutting employees all over the world to drive their own stocks higher, while Microsoft reaps the benefits of societies downfall by supplying everyone with AI as the replacement.

This fear of AI taking over has been with us for a long time, but unless I'm mistaken it looks like Microsoft might be hastily trying to bring this into existence, starting with Xbox.

It may only start in gaming but if it truly takes off you can bet it won't stop there.
its still ea thanks to no offline mode for anthem

come the fuck on OP... every fucking company has been cutting thousands of jobs, this is not exclusive to MS, its just the latest one to do it. The job market is fucked right now.
Sadly youre right. Funny how we didn't see any of this when other game publishers were firing mofos left and right. As company men will tell you it's not personal it's about the bottom line in some assholes accounting sheet. All these companies are in the business to make money and will cut costs whenever it's convenient for an upcoming fiscal report.Microsoft just happens to be one of the biggest companies currently fucking over their staff and in some ways consumers but that's the way the bullshit goes. I myself love the Xbox brand so much so I have an Xbox controller tattoo (also have several Nintendo and Final Fantasy ones as well). Gaming has been a big part of my life and I have a passion for the hobby but I have no delusion that these companies will turn at a moment if it means consumers aren't filling up their specific colored chart.

I truly loath what's happening and it hurts me that so many people that have brought me a great time are losing their jobs.

"Most" and evil "est"
I don't think you are suppose to word it like that. I'm curious , how old is the OP? And of course don't even get me started on the topic itself which is already ridiculous.
Please someone close this silly thread...

Since the netscape situation, I thought they were bad news. When they got into consoles, I was like "well there goes the neighborhood". So over time my high level view was that we don't know where computing would be today if ms hadn't gained so much power over the market, and nobody else filled that role either.

I think we would have been better off but that's a counterfactual that is hardly worth a real argument. There's no way to ever know. It's nice to think about what could have been different.

So that's the serious part. The astroturfing starting day one has been obnoxious. It can take on a sort of funny side, though. The outsized cadre of xbox influencers and the like of major nelson and greenburg have a faintly lovable side now that they are less effective and more clownish. Anyways, all that was and is mostly obnoxious.

Here's Microsoft's next CEO contender—an AI. They should just start from the top.

"
If I were in charge of Xbox, here's what my next steps would be:

1. Reevaluate First-Party Strategy
  • Focus on releasing fewer but higher-quality, polished, and focused first-party games.
  • Give studios creative freedom, but also enforce stronger project management to avoid disasters like Redfall.
  • Revive beloved dormant franchises like Banjo-Kazooie, MechAssault, and Project Gotham Racing.
2. Balance Game Pass with Quality
  • Shift Game Pass away from being a "quantity over quality" service.
  • Highlight premium, Game Pass-exclusive titles that feel like true system-sellers—similar to what Sony does with its first-party games.
3. Invest in Japanese Games Without Buying Studios
  • Instead of trying to buy Japanese developers, fund and co-develop exclusive games with smaller and mid-sized Japanese studios.
  • Ensure that major Japanese titles like Persona and Final Fantasy launch day one on Xbox—no delays or timed exclusives for other platforms.
4. Simplify Hardware Strategy
  • Reduce the performance gap between Series S and Series X to make developers' jobs easier.
  • Launch a portable Xbox device focused on Game Pass—something like the Steam Deck, but optimized for the Xbox ecosystem.
5. Rebuild Trust Through Honest Communication
  • Maintain open communication with the community, but stop making excuses.
  • Take responsibility when things go wrong and clearly outline how issues will be addressed.
  • Position leadership to be more transparent and decisive, especially in tough moments.

No, most companies trim down as technology advances. 9k people out of almost 300k is less than 4% lets relax.

i wonder if in the future they will be able to get your conciousness out of your noggin and beam it up into some microsoft paradise thus creating immortality

Any company that gets huge, never mind Microsoft, did not get there by being saints. Any company that tries to get big by legitimate means would get steamrolled by the competition undermining that good will. The reality of being a corporation is something very ugly. There are no good guys, just people/ethics sacrificed to the God of profits along the way.

Tech company, probably.

Has one of the of the biggest slimeball founders.

Who gave public privacy to governments, likes to dictate his agenda to the world, bribe, steal, lie on camera and then hop on a plan to do some pedo shit on Epstein's island. And then play innocent.

And people forget what he done in India, so he is comparable to alot of evil corps.

Plus the shills they have to try and change the industry they work in with bribes and misinformation is a kinda gross. You know who you are bitch boy ;)

They killed a ton of projects in the layoff. If 'getting away with AI' is - doing less with less people then... they're not getting anything new out of the deal at all.

The problem is, if it succeeds, other companies will want to follow suit once they see a successful use case.
Right now everyone is already tagging mass-layoffs with 'AI' because press laps it up like idiots, and it turns attention away from any of the bad PR. There's nothing needed to prove, or even DO - all you need is insert the word, the press does all the rest of heavy lifting for you.

Strongly disagree.

Disney made characters like Thor, Captain America, Guardians of the Galaxy, Black-panther, Dr Strange and such mainstream and did decent jobs of them for the big screen. And for me and alot of people the Marvel movies they made were better than Fox and Sony.

Outside of Spiderman 1-2, Xmen 1-2, DOFP, Deadpool and Blade the rest were pretty bad.
They done a better job than anyone else with the Marvel franchise and made it huge. Its an accomplishment in cinema history

Don't care for any of Disney's version of them.
X-Men,Iron Man, Deadpool, Punisher, Daredevil,Blade, Spider-Man and Ghost Rider to name a few were better than everything Disney did with Marvel for my tastes.

Don't get me started on how bad they have handled the Predator/Alien and Star Wars universes.

I guess its different tastes. I really liked GOTG 1 and 3, Cap 1, 2 and Civil War. Ragnaok. BlackPantherDeadpool and Wolverine etc, Dr Strange 1 and Avengers was decent. The last Spiderman I liked too. Light hearted fun. Movies will never be as good as the comics to me but Im glad we got the whole collection marvel Universe

Star Wars, the trilogy movies sucked, but I liked The Mandelorian season 1&2, Rogue 1 and Andor series. I didnt even know they had Aliens. The prey movie was ok, but tbh Im not the biggest fan of Predator after the first movie

To be fair I do like Mandalorian.
