Yups, and they are world-renoved to this very day, just to name a few most/every1 knows of:Several companies that helped the Nazis still exist.
How does that matter in 2025? lol The world was different back then, context is not the same.Several companies that helped the Nazis still exist.
come the fuck on OP... every fucking company has been cutting thousands of jobs, this is not exclusive to MS, its just the latest one to do it. The job market is fucked right now.
The fallout hasn't occurred yet, but potentially they could be.So Microsoft is more evil than all the tobacco companies, who buried research in order to keep selling their cancer sticks? Or the chemical companies that literally poisoned the earth to make a few bucks? Or the pharmaceuticals who knowingly downplay the severe side effects of their drugs? Or the insurance companies who look for any reason to not pay out claims? Or the banks who do their best to keep people in perpetual debt? Or Meta who tunes it's algorithm to place people into societally damaging echo chambers in order to increase engagement?
Microsoft, like all publicly traded companies, is shit, but there are fare worse offenders out there.
The thread isn't about that. Are we pretending MS is the only one cutting jobs and closing studios? Wow such a selective memory.....
People laugh but this could impact billions if successful.
The fallout hasn't occurred yet, but potentially they could be.
People can see how devastating this could become, right?
That's a good point.I'm skeptical.
If AI and robots replace billions of jobs, then who is paying for goods and services?
Tons of parasites in the dev studios tho, they produced nothing or really low quality products over span of 5+ years, its not a surprise they gonna get cut off, bro. They rake in record profits every year. Microsoft doesn't have to cut. But they do anyway.
They might be looking into it to not stay behind but it's Microsoft that's firing off the first nuke.Even if you're that worried about AI, why single Microsoft out? Google, Meta, Tesla, Antrhopic, and a bunch of Chinese companies are all working on it, with the same goals in mind.
Dude, people have been losing their jobs to technical progress since the dawn of time.AI is that product. If people are forced out of their jobs that is the end result.
I'm chill, I just think it's worthy of discussion.Dude, people have been losing their jobs to technical progress since the dawn of time.
Take a step back and chill.
Didnt the East India Company colonize dozens of countries and enslave hundreds of millions of people?
Hard to top that
Corporations are just a reflection of human nature. The "evil" is us, and always has been.
I gather you're not quite understanding the implications this could cause on a global scale. We live in a world of PMCs, oil companies, people being literally worked to death in the 3rd world, etc. And that's just right now. What a remarkably dumb thread.
I agree, this just fast-tracks things...........breh!
Most big companies are fucking shit, do not care about your ass, whether you work there or buy their shit doesn't matter. They love your money and that's all there is to it.
It's all business. If you're worth keeping around adding value you'll keep your job and get paid. If not you get nothing.
No different than everyone's parents. If MS is a scumbag company so are everyone's parents who said no to buying you stuff even though they could afford it and you didn't deserve it.
I blame those fuckers with the industrial revolution…Is their fault we are in this today. I want to go back to 18th century way of life.People laugh but this could impact billions if successful.

Rule of thumb….Yeah it was easier to punish your wife back then too
People have been losing their jobs for all sorts of reasons but not like this.
they are just talentless hacks that have abused their dominant position, without actually being innovative or groundbreaking like Nvidia for example
The difference is that jobs were created in that instance. Where as AI only takes jobs without giving back.People have been losing their jobs exactly like this every time there's a major technological advancement that disrupts entire industries.
Consider the advent of electricity and its impact on something as seemingly simple as home lighting. Prior to electricity there were entire industries built up around home oil lamps and candle use. Not only the oil and candle manufacturers themselves, but entire businesses creating things like lamps, candelabras, et cetera. Those industries were devastated once the electric light bulb took over and entire companies vanished overnight. These products exist today as a niche shadow of their former selves.
That's the impact electricity had on just a single application.
Imo, there should be more governmental action to prove these companies are monopolistic and break them up. They do offer superior products, but at the same time, I have to think that buying up competitors/disruptors only to shutter them has to align with US anti-monopoly laws. There is a laundry list of vile corporations, and they are constantly competing for the top spot.
- Apple
- Disney
- EA
- Microsoft
- Nvidia
Sir, Microsoft are far bigger than Xbox.OP has Homelander as their avatar and thinks a company involved in video games is the "evilest" mega corp around.
FFS.
LOL this was sorta my take, but they definitely are up there. Proctor & Gamble, Nestle, or McKinsey rank higher on my scale though, and by a fair bit.Ever?

I guess you never had to use a computer with Windows Millenium Edition installed.Didnt the East India Company colonize dozens of countries and enslave hundreds of millions of people?
