Make sure your steam account is connected to twitch here http://www.twitch.tv/settings/connections

If you get a drop while watching, the next time you load the game you'll get a notice that you have a new item in inventory. They are kind of rare though

Yeah I just meant don't be surprised if you don't get one, it doesn't mean you are doing something wrong. The Katowice box is going for $8 on the community market right now so it's definitely worth trying to get.

Sorry, yeah, you can get drops from watching the stream in-game too. But there's no commentating and I just find it to be a lesser experience overall.

I just got back to Gold Nova 2 for the 2nd (3rd?) time... let's see how long this lasts.

Watching GOTV through Twitch in-game or linking your Steam ID to a Twitch username to watch outside of the game gives drops?

Watching the Katowice matches in-game DOES give you drops. So does watching on twitch.tv, or even the Twitch mobile-app so long as you are logged in and your Steam account is connected. It's all gravy baby.
