The production budget for Bloober Team's upcoming survival horror game, Cronos: The New Dawn, has been revealed.

Speaking with bankier.pl, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno addressed speculation surrounding the production budget of Cronos: The New Dawn. Contrary to reports that the game cost over PLN 100 million (about 27.5 million US Dollars), he confirmed the actual figure was well below that threshold. As a result, the break-even point is significantly lower than previously believed, strengthening the company's confidence in profitability.

The cynic in me wants to say "it shows"

I don't really have anything against the game, but on the other hand I also don't see much I like. It mostly compels me to make comparisons with other much better games it was, let's say, heavily inspired by.

They're gonna be successful with this game, no doubt, even if September is crowded. It looks awesome and I can't wait until tomorrow to play the shit out of this on the weekend.

Well, yeah, it shows. Didn't play it yet, and I don't think I will do it too soon since the gameplay I've watched was very dull, shoot pimples and the occasional barrel.

Developers in Europe are indeed much cheaper than the US. They don't have to compete with big tech companies willing to hand out massive compensation packages like they do here.

That's pretty much the budget for Control by Remedy if I remember right. This proves you can make good (or even awesome in case of Control) games with 30m budget, but also make shit games with 100+ millions.

It's impossible to make AAA games for 30m in the us.
