It's a shame you don't notice the pop ups in screenshots =/ Apart from that it looks virtually the same. Shadows look a tad worse too.

Were you running an autoexe.cfg before this? If you did you need to delete it, also restore your system.cfg back to default too.

Played the first two levels. I tried the highest difficulty but I do not like it - the game relies too heavy on stealth there I think. On the second hardest it is fine, a bit easier like I remember Delta from C1. I still die fucking fast when I screw up (and I do that often).

Game looks great - don't get the complains, the lighting is superb.
 
I cannot believe that a shooter with such a good single-player campaign has such trashy multiplayer.

And maybe Crytek should send the online coder back to special ed classes. I have a 50 down, 5 up connection and in two days have NEVER been in a game with more than two bars. Ever.

Combine lag with the trashy spray-and-pray gameplay, and it's nothing but a fucking clusterfuck of random kills and deaths.

I have NEVER felt like I earned a kill or deserved to die. It just happens.

So disappointing.

r_DrawNearFoV=XX should make the guns smaller.

Does the pistol design bother anyone else? There are probably pistols with this design IRL but it just looks constantly unloaded to me.

What's the option to remove that stupid looking blur on weapons etc. when moving, is that radial or motion blur? Just want world blur, not object blur.

basically it's 3 flat 2D layers: the HUD, your character's weapon, everything else.
I was expecting more from Crytek's 3d effect.

Game works and looks glorious on my PC. Quad Phenom II, 3gb ram, Radeon 6870 and 32" Samsung HDTV [as my monitor].

SO AWESOME. Even more awesome with fov 80.

Its shame that this game doesn't support anaglyph glasses [like Batman AA with Trioviz].

that's beacose it is empty, look at the ammo counter it's 0/0 ^^

I uploaded Screenshots (1680x1050) illustrating the difference between High, Very High and Extreme. As you all know, this does not alter the pop-up/in effect (to a huge degree) but visually, a few things do change.

Look at the Models in the first screenshot of the coffee machine, the plant on the left, and the chair on the left. Even between Very High and Extreme will you find differences.

Another one that jumped my eye was the vanishing side-lights in the parking house.
Then on the 6th, you can also see the writing on some walls vanish, the texture finesse being different across all 3.

Anyhow, its uncompressed BMP - so all JPG nazi's can breath easy.

(And yes, imho, extreme is blurrier - The game is still good)

Alright, just finished the level where you command a vehicle for the first time in that lengthy tunnel section. So far, the game's pretty good albeit a bit plain. Graphically, it's ridiculously good-looking (PC); personally I find this game to look better than Crysis 1 by far, in large thanks to the much-improved image quality and general performance. The gunplay is decent, but I would've hoped it'd be a bit better.

Too many impressions say that the first half of the game is somewhat boring/plain; if that's the case, I look forward to seeing the later portions of the game.

All forms of AA turned off, except 4xMSAA. FoV is set to 80 which gives the slight fish-lens effect.

Yup, breaks CF too. Was using Bioshock CF profile to fix it previously but turning on 4xMSAA breaks it again - Was able to have it working briefly but it didn't last.

So... am I the only one having problems with survivability on Veteran? I really need to take out enemies one by one and stealth is the only viable option it seems.

I would start a discussion, but I would get like 1 or 2 replies, and then it would go back to posting screenshots.

But you're right. Instead of whining I could be playing the game right now. Welp, back to playing Crysis 2.
 
been playing this on 360, while there was a lot of eye candy within the first two hours the gameplay was pretty vanilla. i like crysis' fiction tho so i kept going and once the aliens/suit powerups started to become introduced things picked up

i can see why people would cry about it being more linear but so far they've donea fine job of making it an enjoyable linear experience with enough play in each situation about how you're going to approach a conflict. still, there's no reason to be a bitch about what crysis 2 took away from the more or less average crysis-- game is fine


shame about the vehicles tho

So why does Very high seem sharper than Extreme in that set (compare blue building in the background and the trees/bushes)? I've noticed it in other peoples pics too

I turned off Radial and Motion blur but there's still this crappy, ugly ass looking ghost trail blur when moving the gun - How do I get rid of it?!

this is selling their not so good 3D a little short (though only a little).

'everything else' isn't all at the same depth. it uses depth projection and adds a little bit of depth to everything else, but they keep it locked at a really small amount in order to cut down on occlusion artifacts... which are still evident unfortunately.

Im playing on Post-Human and not having much difficulty at all....little bit dissapointed at the challenge TBH
