I enjoyed the 3d as well(playing on a plasma). I think it looks perfectly fine considering how little of a performance hit the game takes. To be fair I just got my 3d glasses so it's one of the first 3d games I'd played. I'll have to try some "real" 3d stuff out.cyberheater said:5.1 positional audio is exceptional on the PC version. Also, 3D is pretty good. I was playing this last night on my 120inch screen and 3D projector an it looks as good as any other good 3D game. The depth isn't as deep as some but it's very impressive given the low overhead.
Folks that say it's just 3 layers of cardboard cutouts are talking out of their hat.
Finally, really enjoying this. More then Halo which is a shock. Game of the year for me. I can't wait to see what the modding community will do with this game.
Yeah, im really happy with their difficulty system. Playing on Veteran the first time and im actually excited to go back into the same levels on Super Soldier. Their AI might not be amazing but it is still a cut above most other games.GABDEG said:Playing on 360 and it's a great game. Framerate dips whenever there's smoke involved, but it's nothing that would make it unplayable.
Veteran seems to be a pretty good difficulty setting, really forces you to use the nano-suit features and proceed with caution.

If you read the book its even more futuristic than that. Global catastrophe, clones, biological machines, synthetic military viruses and stuff like that.Blue Ninja said:The reason the story falls flat on its face, in my opinion, is that Morgan tried making the story something it's not. Crysis was simple near-futuristic military science fiction, while Crysis 2 overdosed on nano-juice and symbiosis bullshit.

It does! I'm happy, my copy just got here (PS3). Going to dig into it as soon as my controller finishes charging.Heavy said:What book is this? Sounds pretty neat lol

Maybe I'm mistaken, but it's not that those suits themselves are rare, it's that something unique has happened to that one that makes it a one-of-a-kind item.Blue Ninja said:I just realized my main gripe with Crysis 2's story. In the first, the Nanosuit was rare, sure, but it wasn't the second coming of Jesus. It was expensive technology, but the Marines we saw in the game knew about it, and didn't particularly fear it: one of the Marines in the game jokes about "getting his own supersuit, and going Ninja on your ass".
Meanwhile, in Crysis 2, the Nanosuit's suddenly become a one-of-a-kind item that can end the war practically on its own. Most Marines are either scared to death by you, or mocking you behind your back (or in your face), one of them commenting "Is there really a man in there?"It can store entire personalities, for god's sake.
Thing is, Prophet was wearing an N1 during the events of Crysis, when he was exposed to the aliens. He gives you his N2 during the events of Crysis 2.StuBurns said:Maybe I'm mistaken, but it's not that those suits themselves are rare, it's that something unique has happened to that one that makes it a one-of-a-kind item.
I totally agree, all I do now is sneak past enemies because you can't have a decent firefight.abracadaver said:whats up with the endless respawning enemies ? is that to hide the bad AI ?
its really annoying, the easiest way is to get invisible and just walk past them but thats pretty boring and not the way I want to play

Actually that was a bug. For some reason it got screwed up in the middle of the game.MickeyKnox said:r_drawnearfov *

Huh? What? I don't remember anything like that.TheExodu5 said:Something special happened to Nomad's suit in the first game...though I couldn't begin to explain what that was.
Are you referring to the aliens (don't recall any endless spawns of humans)? If so, Crysis 1 was far far worse in this regard (in regards to encounter design).TheExodu5 said:Yeah, the encounter design is truly atrocious in this game compared to the original. Enemies just keep pouring in. It's not endless, but it's annoying and makes proper tactical planning pointless. This is pretty similar to the Dragon Age 2 scenario.

I haven't noticed that. How hard is it to just cloak and retreat a bit and do your tactical assessment?TheExodu5 said:The humans. There are usually several waves of humans that pour in from unknown locations in this game.
Pretty easy, just break the line of sight, cloak and re-locate but what sucks is that quite a few encounters are designed so that you have to cross an arbitrary trigger point to stem the endless flow of "reinforcements". As such the only tactical assessment to make is what's the quickest way to said threshold.Pimpbaa said:I haven't noticed that. Anyway, that graphics tweaking program is definitely borked. No two ways around it. Check this out.

I've got some fucking ugly motion blur/dop on those buildings in the background that shouldn't be there, and wasn't there until I installed v1.5 of the program. I tried turning off radial blur as well as object blur and nothing fixes it. The whole distant sky vibrates with blur when I move.
On top of this, I noticed that when Camera + Object blur is on I get no bluring of any kind for my first person weapon. I only get it when Camera only blur is on.
So just a word of warning to people; the advanced graphics tweaking program isn't perfect (not that you should expect it to be) and clearly doesn't guarenty perfect visuals.

4 is for custom values.EatChildren said:That config list must be wrong, because it lists the value '4' for numerous entries, when as far as I'm aware the only values are 1, 2, and 3. There is no '4' graphical setting.

damn it version 1.2 works fine. But 1.5 just crashes as soon as I click on it. Running as admin does nothing :/Nekrono said:
