Crysis 3 Open Beta starting Jan 29th

Purchace Confirmed.

Came back to this to agree. This multiplayer is actually quite enjoyable, and they've improved it immensely over C2. My biggest complaint is still the bullet sponge, but I suppose that is a product of the game itself. (nanosuits, armor mode, etc.) It looks and runs great and is a blast to play.

Removing running and jumping from the suit's energy pool was a great idea, and giving armor and cloak separate ones works really well. The game is much faster and "platforming" is a load of fun. The MP is passable, and will keep me entertained outside of the singleplayer. And did I mention it's gorgeous?

Pre-ordered.

Its the first game that utilize my 2500k's 4 cores [stock] completely to that degree that i have framerate drops when i'm frapsing in 60fps in 720p.

The bullet sponge is natural, dead serious if you don't like and you get C3 just play classic tdm. That mode is one of the few modes left in C2 that actually has people playing even now.

Man, I have no idea why the performance/resolution is worse than Crysis 2 was (on PS3). It seems like visually the game was downgraded in every way possible and no improvements have been made. I hope SP looks better.

Still, I can appreciate the wider FoV and actual recoil this time. I was just hoping for some more eye candy. I'm still getting this day 1 since 2 is my favorite FPS this gen but it's disappointing from a technical standpoint.

Oh right, forgot about that mode. Well right now I think it's a matter of transition, coming from CoD/BF to Crysis leaves me expecting kills when I don't get them. I got used to it in C2 but it was jarring today.

Man, I am just completely blown away but this game's visuals.

With a 670 and a 3570K, I get around 50-60 FPS with everything on Very High and 2x SMAA.

Movement perk on default Assault class is amazing!

Hunter mode is seriously great. It fucked me over for a good hour today when I had very important chores I should have been doing instead. Very addictive. A great rush all around.

That's a shame

Okay I finally got to play one round of the Beta and whoa Hunter mode is addicting o.o It runs pretty well on my 6850 OC'ed with a Phenom II 955 @ 3.2ghz, I run with a mix of medium, high and very high and it's very smooth :D Though I do have two things to complain about too, first what's with the ridiculously large weapon model, I assume that's because of the FOV? :/ And second, dear god whatever they did to the mouse-control it's a nightmare, my Mamba feels like on speed-ice...

Hunter mode is pretty cool, love the pinging noises. They nailed the sound effects. Feels too easy for the CELL team though. I played like 10 rounds and I don't think the hunters won once. It is sooo tense though. Feels just like alien.

Maybe I just need to adjust my mouse sensitivity but the heaviness/lag of the controls doesn't feel great. Battlefield 3 has that weight to movement, but still feels snappy. This does not.

The graphics are pretty good, maybe its just the unreal settings but BF3 looks better to me. It stuck everything on very high and I didn't change anything, other than a rare framerate drop it seems pretty smooth at those settings with 3570k/DCUIITOP670.

So I got to level 10 in the Xbox 360 beta, went to my profile, and pressed the "Reboot Nanosuit" button. However, the Maneuverability suit module still says "Item Unlocked After Suit Reboot."

When can I unlock and equip this suit module in one of my custom modules?

I like the shotgun class that includes the module it by defualt, except I would like to swap out the "Auto-Armor" module in one of my custom class builds.

Six hours later I looove this, can't stop playing. At first hunter mode is okay, just cowering in a corner hoping not to be discovered can be exciting. But then I learned how to throw shields at unsuspecting enemie's heads, where on the maps to ambush them and a few good camping spots. The other mode is great too thanks to the suit powers. Hm, maybe I should try the MP of C2..

A lot of people didn't like it for some reason. C2 was my favorite mp of this gen

played the PC, 360 and PS3 versions back to back.

Last place on 360

MVP on PC

MVP on PS3

Make of that what you will.

I would say I liked it, but I wouldn't see myself playing it much so I'll hold off on purchasing it for a while if at all. Hunter mode was personally a disappointment as it wasn't as fun or nerve-wracking as I thought it would be, and I noticed some difficulty in mouse control.

It's certainly putting my 3570k and 660ti through their paces. When it's at 60fps, it looks stunning.

With the same hardware I backed down to "High" spec and got 50-60fps, and in motion it looks the same as "Very High" to me.

Hunter Mode is AWESOME. You definitely have to get used to the flow of it, but it ends up being a lot of fun. Being a Hunter is an awesome feeling.

Just tried the PS3 Beta... Is this running at just above 480p? The resolution is worse than Call of Duty which is already sub 720p.

Don't need a source, you can see it in the beta vs the footage and walkthroughs of SP.

Water Caustics, Water Tessellation, Particle Shadows, Volumetric Cloud Shadows, Pixel Accurate Displacement Mapping, Tessellated Vegetation, Volumetric Fog Shadows, Real Time Area Lighting, etc etc etc are all absent in this Beta.

All of this we know is in the Campaign mode at the very least. I know I can Max out this Multi Beta without issue but I have no illusions about running the full game maxed out. It won't happen on my rig.

Liking the beta lots! I enjoyed Crysis 2 beta too.

That said, there lacks the special oomph that a game like COD has, specifically in its presentation. Lots going on in the HUD, but more importantly there is a choppiness to the gameplay that you don't see in COD.

I really loved the recoil of the AR, something so damn lacking in COD. Hope the rest of the weapons are well balanced.

But this is really the best "quick fix" MP shooter I've played next to a good COD game (COD4). I've been looking for a replacement ever since, and this may do it for me. It's a bit too fast for my liking, and the maps feel a bit cramped, Im hoping that's just because of the modes.

There is a module that allows you to attract dogtags, right? I'm not too fond of the dogtag system for objective modes.

I think this game does one thing by far above the rest: Statistics, social implementation, and competitive edging: By this I mean the match highlights (wonderful "next gen" feature IMO), Halo-ish player profiling (bragging rights), and deep personal stat tracking, friend dynamics, etc.

The menus are all wonderful, though the in-game HUD is too damn bright (the map especially).

While I love the quick-junkie twitch feel to it (it's a good COD alternative for someone like me who hates COD, but wants a shooter like so), I do hope there are bigger maps with a more tactical feel. Right now it's just frantic spawn, kill, spawn kill. Hopefully there is a feel for the spawns, and you can play the game with a sense of map control.

Does anyone know the total map/modes?

Also, I have forgotten a lot since Crysis 2 beta, can anyone give me general tips to the special features, or remind me of anything important?

What is the danger of running low on energy again? Does it lower health or something?

These maps are awesome and hunter mode feels great. Crytek UK is something special in multiplayer designer.

That said my computer is officially outdated. Everything as low as possible and I'm lucky to get 30 frames.

I love it and have screens to show much.

Just hard to be in to when there is a ton of hacking Same for glitches the game is nasty with the lobby in between those two and flaky netcode for some it's hard. To me its cod type of game with suit powers and nothing really feels like it. Thankfully this 3rd one feels more like the first one in terms of suit mechanics and shooting with 2 sense of mp aspects.

2 classic tdm or king of the hill and then crash are my choice. I feel 3 crash mode might easily become the fav now the suit doesn't suck so much.

Who cares if mp doesn't sell crysis the small pockets of community are easily as fun as my small source groups like Gesource and certain mods.

Particle shadows and volume cloud shadows are in. Try firing at any surface in the sun and then try a surface in the dark. Particles get illuminated.

The other things are all map dependent and have to be added in individually to each texture or model. So I'm guessing the MP isn't going to look any different in the final game?

Jesus this game is terrible... Why does EA even bother with this crap. Just put more resources on Battlefield 4.

EA is only publishing this game. And Battlefield 4 is made by a completely different studio, I don't really get your reasoning.

Edit: As for this beta, I'm playing it on minimal settings (in 1080p) and I get 35-45 fps on Airport on my computer (HD6770/Q6700/3GB RAM). Even with everything on low it still looks pretty good (better than some games that have been released recently). As for the gameplay, I'm glad they included the option to disable toggle crouch/run. I couldn't stand that shit in the alpha. I only played one game, ended up 3rd with 15 kills for 7 deaths, even though I haven't played a competitive FPS forever haha.

Even though I got the first 3 games in the series day 1, I won't get this one until later on, I feel like my ccurrent computer won't do the game justice.

Has anyone tried using an Xbox 360 controller with the PC version in a online match?

Can you please tell me if there is aim assist like there was in the previous beta?

Well, one match in Hunter mode and im sold.......day 1.
Went on an insane spree with my bow today as the Hunter, and it topped all of the hours I've poured into Black Ops 2 as of late. There are some things in general that bug me about the MP, but overall it is a lot of damn fun.

This has already been touch upon. Mp has less graphics than what you can do with default or modded in the SP. Go look for the pics they have em if you're that worried.

The alpha and every version has had the ability to tweak that via console. I'd list commands but they are way too long either pm me or seek them at mycrysis or steam forums.

If you're on the pc and haven't fixed your nic settings tommorow I show no mercy for the wicked. We need to get on mumble and get some squads going.
