Crysis 3 Open Beta starting Jan 29th

Mouse acceleration and smoothing are off by default. I disabled vsync and capped my framerate at 59fps and it was playable, but not ideal. I'll have to try again on my CRT.

Apparently, you can tag people automatically with the binoculars. They glow like a candle and have a red arrow over their head.

Hmm well even if they are off by default something strange is going on with the mouse :/ And whoa thanks for the tagging tip, that might help :D
 
Reespawn far away from a crash site, run towards it, climb to some building, cloak, wait for the other team to gather around the thing, jump´n punch, kill them all... SO GOOD
 
Anyone have this strange problem?

The first image shows a strange outline across vegetation and other stuff. The second without it. The problem only occurs when i face one way, but doesn't when i face in the opposite direction. I'm fairly sure it's 180 degrees without and 180 with it.

I've tried flicking on and off all settings in game, but I've had no luck.

I've said it before go in to your gpu control panel and try to turn max prerendered frames to 0 to 1. Regardless if you're using vysnc or not it can help a lot with input lag or stuttering don't know how some of you leave that or dynamic tiling off which with nvidia inspector can be turned on.

As wolf mentioned they are off by default. The windows api for a mouse is borked and unless you apply 3 fixes, one to usb polling rate, one to turn off the false permanent acceleration, and one to give you dpi precision boost it's garbage when playing a game without raw input like this.

I just tried that, and it went from 99 percent to 100. Cue victory dance.

Then the game crashed again.
I know it's a beta and all, so it's to be expected, but it's frustrating.

The game works fine if I join an empty server, but any one that's populated makes the game crash.

MSAA (and all methods using it like TXAA or SMAA 4x) is bugged in the beta
use SMAA T2x for now

The thing is I have a AMD 6850, do I need RadeonPRO to get the equivalent max prerendered frames? Atleast I can't find it anywhere in the AMD VISION Engine :/ I turned off the Windows acceleration now and my polling-rate is already set to 1000hz.

My last was 4850 and I used a tweaking program to tweak that feature and dynamic tiling. They give good gains especially if you have never used them in fps before.

Markc cheesfix which is for the mouse. Takes no time to do it get a download, unzip contents. Run the checker to see if its on or not and then follow guide instructions to apply the right dpi setting. After that you can easily log off windows and log back in and the fix will be permanent. Turn off aero features for the desktop when running this game as well they do not play nice with timing

Good about the polling rate I'm amazed how many people still these days use cheap mice at 125hz.

I've been addressing the aiming issue for sometime depending on your gpu look at what I mentioned and alter the settings of the values I mentioned. You will instantly know in a game if you're using them or not the jump is pretty clear.
 
Have been playing this a lot today, enjoying it greatly until I came across my first legit cheater. Some guy had totally automatic sniper aiming and could even appear to take you out through solid obstructions.

The killcam replays made it obvious he was cheating, the sniper reticule was always centered perfectly on the target player and tracked their movement through the environment like a robot.

Scumbag cheaters already! Game has only been available for 24h!

EDIT - did a quick google, seems there are hacks aplently for Crysis 3 already, including an "aimbot", which is what I must have enountered =0( eg: http://www.artificialaiming.net/forum/general-discussions/69108-crysis-3-hack-cheat.html
 
still trying to figure out which setting is causing the occsional hitch I am getting. Tried messig with each setting indivuidualy and could not find a culprit (how do you spll this word?).


Can i get some confirmation on SLI scaling?

I get a strange 70% utilization on one card and about 90 on the other.

I think the hitching is due to some sli profile problem.

tried all the "fixes" for the mouse and nothing is doing it for me so far. the game runs pretty well and hunter mode seems pretty cool, but the way the mouse behaves makes this unplayable

I must have been mistaken then. I only got two rounds in last night, but I thought one of the meters (red one?) was for the armour and the other (white one?) was for the invisibility.

Anyway, I completely forgot to mention my biggest gripe with the game so far, which is that enormous and distracting HUD. It takes up like 50% of the screen real estate. Does anyone else find it completely distracting and mostly unnecessary?

I've had the same problem with the airplane map. I assumed it was related to the AA method I was using but I havent been able to test yet.

i5 2500k and a 560ti (all stock)
 
Game is minimizing randomly and now Chrome started to do the same, rebooting did not work. Guess it's time to buy a new PC.
 
The Maneuverability perk is way OP right now.

Just finished a match where 6 of the 8 on their team seemed to have it (or there are already speed hacks out, who knows?)

We got steamrolled. There was no way in hell we should any chance.

Hmmm maybe I'm the one who's mistaken here. I recall the two meters to the bottom right, but I assumed one was the suit energy while the other was your health.
 
Tried it max settings on a 7970 and i52500k @3.6ghz, its running most of the time at 30fps and it doesn't look nothing special
 
Still feels like crysis 2 mp, like no change so it's just ok but I keep getting disconnects randomly and lol the hit detection.

Someone said "maximum skip" in the thread and I have to agree, I'll rent it though from red box for the single player since it'll probably need a online pass.

Also lol wtf at that alien space ship, say my bro playing and he couldn't move the gun to shoot, only could sit haha

Man I am still a noob when it comes to PC's. Found out I had SLI disabled this entire time.
Went to the Control Panel, enabled it, and now I get a steady 60 to 70 fps with everything maxed at 1440p. Love my 680's :)
 
Oh god I just tried this on my PS3 and I was really lowering my expectations but cotdayum!

It looks atrocious on there! I mean I can see someone who never plays or sees the PC version thinking it looks passable but man.

Woooyeah. Finally got SLI working for my 690s. 60fps at 2560x1600 with SMAA x2. There's this annoying glitch where everything gets a bright outline in airport. But everything's fine on museum, though.

I'm glad there are plenty of people enjoying this. It's still the same horrible shit multiplayer Crysis 2 had and I won't be touching it in Crysis 3 either. But no doubt has this 'beta' sold some people over for a purchase.

Waiting a whole month to play single player is going to be difficult. :)

Are you on new beta drivers

If so you also need nvidia inspector. Download that and create a profile for the beta Exe. Or there might already be a Crysis 3 profile created and you can attach the beta exe to it.

Once I did that slibhas been working fine. I get 98-99 percent usage on my 580s

Help? I don't know why I'm able to choose crazy high resolutions like 2560x1440 but 1080 is missing?
