Cyberpunk had the shittiest launch ever and was delayed several times. Starfield launched without a hitch. Cyberpunk releasing this DLC means the game is finally playable as far as I'm concerned. Don't get me started on the bugs. Makes Bethesda bugs look amazing.
Besides Starfield is getting it's DLC stuff next year alongside Modding tools. Which will add hundreds of hours to Starfield much like it has with Skyrim, Fallout NV/4.
Fucking lol this industry indeed.
Truth.
As far as I can tell, Starfield is releasing as a complete concept. To even compare it to CP2077, would be like saying, in 3 years it will FINALLY have Ship battles and Ai will work or some shit.
I don't think people fully, 100% understand the issues many had with CP2077 and likely still do, its core concept isn't even what was first shown, it lacks so many of those RPG features, the developer themselves stopped calling it that and listed the genre as "action adventure" and removed RPG.
So I'll take what Starfield is doing any day of the week, as its issues are not massive concept, design or genre breaking or something.
Bethesda's DLCs add on to an existing idea, they do not add day 1 type shit like "oh yea so the Ai can use vehicles like we was trying to do 3 years ago, can you please forget that run" lol
I'm not against CDPR continuing support of the game, I'm against that these are not add ons, they are continued development closer to early access where the consumer is unaware that they are buying an incomplete product, many would have gladly supported CDPR INCLUDING MYSELF if they were just honest about it being an early access. Let the gamer know, BG3 was in early access and I completely skipped that and opted to just wait till it was done. If you are hype and you can't wait, you were forewarned, but at least those who played it after got a complete picture
Not fucking piecemeal a game for years part by part as they struggle with some basic elements. So its a bitter sweet type thing, I'm happy for those who never played it that get to play all of those elements complete and intact, but I feel sorry for those whole already saw the story and put 100 hours into the game and are burned out and are now being told 3 fucking years later "oh yea, here is the rest of the game for real, that will be $30 please" lol
So...maybe they could just make a complete game next time, even the 2 elements of cops and vehicle combat greatly alter that concept. Imagine if THAT is what was releasing for the first time in 2023, but I digress.
This year is packed so I got to skip it as I'd rather support the developers that made complete games this year, I hope you all enjoy it though!
