Input lag?
iirc the wired version isnt due for release for a month. Why don't they sell the wired version on Amazon?
I try to stay away from Best Buy if I can
Edit: I bought the extended warranty for my Elite 2 that runs out the end of this year. Going to be sending it in for them to repair/refurbish/replace. I only paid $20 for 3 years, so was worth it. Already had them replace it once for the LB breaking.
Thx. On the Razer site, it lists Best Buy as a retailer to buy???iirc the wired version isnt due for release for a month.
Thanks. Thats useful. I assume the M1 and M2 are the extra shoulder buttons. For me they're a little bit awkward to reach, so I had them mapped to the start and pause buttons. I always have the back buttons cover the face buttons. That way nothing you do ever has to have your thumbs leave the thumbsticks. So are these two shoulder buttons now pretty much of no use due to them being awkward to press? Or is it more that they just dont feel as nice?
Do you have anything further to add on how you find the new back buttons? How do find the Razer app on Xbox?
You can stop quivering! I just got the controller today (bought it from Amazon) and it is AWESOME! The haptic feedback/vibration feels great. I was a little concerned because someone mentioned in this thread that it does not have vibration, but it does. I am a little curious though, where is the software for the controller? I'd like to swap some button functions.
Thanks a lot OP!
Glad you are enjoying it! Took me a minute googling when I first got it, but the software is the Windows store.

You could ask the same question as to why some people pay for Michelin Pilot Sport tyres instead of say Hankook Kinergy. Both are good tyres. But the feel and control I get is so much nicer with my Michelin's. Whilst you're content, some of us want more. Why spend this amount of money on a controller. I have used the 8bitdo ultimate for GFN and it’s about as great as a controller I’d ever need.
That looks great for the money. The back paddle placement looks good and hall effects too. Whats not to like? I think we're definitely seeing everything start to move to hall effect now, which is potentially great in general. Though tbh in the many decades I've been gaming I've only had stick drift a couple of times. iirc an OG Elite and also a series 2 Elite. The Series 2 got it under a year, but the OG was a few years old.So not trying to highjack your thread Topher but I saw PowerA (yeah kind of low end products) announced 2 new controllers and thought the specs on the lower end controller was crazy for $49 so had to preorder one even if it ends up in the trash

I am hoping too seeing these cheaper controllers having hall effect sticks we will start seeing Sony and MS start to include them but I bet that would really cut into their controller sales as I have had 3 or 4 controllers I have replaced over the years because of drift as wellThat looks great for the money. Damn that even has Hall effect sticks and triggers, well the HE one does and its only $49
This is the best Controller and it's $45.
The Gulikit King Kong 3 Max controller is also pretty awesome.
Does this require Razer’s terrible app?
Good thing I got it for PC. I'm sure there are console alternatives in the same price range, which was the point that you chose to ignore. No it doesn't. Those only work on PC.
So at first I thought it wouldn't turn the system on. It does, but I have to hold it kind of pointing at the system(?). I don't know it just doesn't seem consistent. No disconnect issues so far. The rumbles are adjustable. I have mine set on the default (4), and I think it feels great.Topher great post. I mentioned this recently in the Edge thread as its been on my radar. Only con I've heard so far is battery life and needs a lot more charging than the Elite. But that doesnt bother me.
What does bother me is my previous Razer Wolverine controllers have always had some quirk with the Xbox. Like not powering it on or having to unplug and re plug in etc. So whats it like when solely being used on the Xbox in terms of powering on the machine and config via software? Any disconnects, rumble as powerful as Elite?
Thanks again. I really shouldn't invest anything more into XSX, but it is tempting...
This is the best Controller and it's $45.
Yeah, the wired early version I had. Would be inconsistent turning it on too. I'm just waiting for Gamer Heaven, he says a review is due soon. I'm generally hesitant simply because my XSX isnt my primary gaming system. And the Pro is just about to be announced. But also the new Nacon is due for release soon.So at first I thought it wouldn't turn the system on. It does, but I have to hold it kind of pointing at the system(?). V4P costs only $50 bro, which is just 1/4 of the Wolverine V3 Pro with comparable quality. And the best gamepad right now is the Flydigi Apex 4, which also costs only $80.You suckers paying half the price of a console for a controller will never cease to amaze me. Flydigi Vader 4 Pro has at least comparable functionality for half the price. Hell, even an 8bitdo ultimate for 60 bucks does the job.
My hands are on the larger size and symmetrical sticks just don't work for me.Asymmetrical sticks...
This. I'm currently using a DS4 with a larger capacity battery and aside from the odd bit of squeaking from the plastic it's hard to imagine swittching to anything else. I've had to replace the rubber membrane on the d-pad, but I can live with that.I really hate how everything is assymetrical. I play lots of fighting games and symmetrical just feels better due to that dpad placement. The best controller for me remains Dualshock 4. Shame about the shoddy build quality though.
The DS4 is a god-tier controller in so many ways. Also fits my hands perfectly. I find Dualsense and Xbox controller nowhere as comfortable grip. Shame Sony's jacked up the prices real bad here. By the way the Dualsense dpad is objectively worse. Less responsive and less precise. It becomes really telling in fighting games.This. I see these other controllers and I've tried a couple 8bitdo ones in the past, and they all failed at one of the above.
- No clicky buttons (don't want loudness on every input)
- No rubberised panels (they will degrade into a untouchable sticky mess)
- Great support on PC either native, through Steam, or through DS4Windows allowing profiles and complex set ups - not just button swapping
The only thing the DS4/5 is missing is back buttons, because as good as the touchpad is for customisation it isn't always the ideal placement.
So if someone has a recommendation for something that meets my requirements and be happy to give it a go.
I have these two and they are amazing. I will never waste my money on microsoft "elite" controllers ever again.
DIREWOLF 2
VADER 3
Both have back buttons (direwolf has 2 and vader, 4). The configuration app allows all sorts of configuration, including macros.
It works on PC and switch.
I had a wired razer wolverine. Wouldn't recommend it.
DS4 is way too small for my hands personally. D-pad was good like you say but if I'm playing a fighting game i'd tend to be using a stick. The DS4 is a god-tier controller in so many ways. Does it not have rumble? No charging base, no rumble, no speaker, no bluetooth and it is overpriced.

So it doesn't require me to install Synapse?Glad you are enjoying it! Took me a minute googling when I first got it, but the software is the Windows store.

Got a link to prove that? This was in the running for my new go to but it would be a deal breaker. I can't seem to find anything that back your statement up?Avoid this controller if possible, noticed especially in Halo the players aren't using the controller but still using V3, deep dive on the controller shown the input lag to be ridiculously high on the analogue sticks and that's why pro's are not using it
