Maybe I was just watching the wrong songs, or maybe it was because it was on easy.

It still looks entertaining, but I can't imagine I'd ever want to try any of these 'dance moves' while actually trying to dance :lol
Does the dancing become more like real dancing the higher the difficulty?

See that's what I'm talking about, does the game have routines like this once you move up in difficulty?

I'd say its more real. Don't Sweat the Technique uses real bboy toprock steps, other songs use real house, locking or popping moves. The "cheesy moves" are still in there, but they're mixed in with harder dance moves on harder difficulties.

I think the problem may have just been the song choice then.
Some songs probably just have more feminine or campy sort of moves such as this Christina Milian song.

I suppose that's to be expected if it's a song sung by a female.
Hopefully they have a good balance between songs sung by men and songs sung by women.
Obviously the song genre will effect the dance moves too.

I still wanna try it, campy moves or not.

not even sure what you mean by feminine. if you want to look like a badass, this is not the game for you.

I think they just made up a name for most of the moves that people wouldn't actually know the name to.

lol I don't wanna look like a badass while playing any kind of computer game :D
I just mean that when they put choreography together there are certain moves that they have the females doing, and certain moves that they have the men doing.

For example, here is the actual video for the Christina Milian song that I linked to previously.
Notice how when the men start dancing they follow a different set of moves?
That's because some moves are designed for females, and some for males.

This game hurts, but it's sooooooo good. Really glad I bought Because of You, as it does have some unique moves I believe and is really fun to dance. Been practicing my jerk, and I can actually feel the improvement. It also helps to actually record yourself playing, to see whether you're actually nailing a move or the game is just being nice.

PS: Days Go By automatically makes this game the best dancing game of all-time. I can finally recreate the music video!

Any idea where the photos that DC takes during gameplay are saved? It's not in the dashboard photo library, or the dance central game file in the hard drive, nor is there an option to view photos in the dance central game menu. WHERE THE ARE THEY?!

I've 5 starred it 3 times on Easy with no Flash Cards, but I'm not unlocking the achievement.

Add me, Phreaker, if you wanna Friend List compete!

I would have bought DC with the Kinect sensor as its peripheral and not have been disappointed. Anything else I enjoy with the Kinect is just a bonus. An online Dance Battle mode would make a really nice addition!

or atleast some michael jackson bundle, that would probably turn people away from gaga

I just wanted to chime in and say that I'm loving this game. Harmonix does no wrong, really, and this is one fun game (awesome menu system and visuals too, as expected). It has actually gotten me, who doesn't eveeer dance, to get up and have a ton of fun. And it's a great game to for my girlfriend who never plays video games. She actually said, "this is the first video game that I'd actually play by myself". And the video game nerd in me smiles at that, knowing that she said that about a legitimately good video game.

Not thrilled with the Kinect technology though... it seems pretty half-assed. The concept is strong but the camera seems to be of poor quality and there doesn't seem to be enough memory/cpu power dedicated to the software (weren't they originally thinking of having dedicated cpu and memory to it inside the device itself?). I'm hoping there will be driver updates for it in the near future but at this point I just can't see how it will improve all that much until they do a Kinect 2. I really want to see Kinect recognize my individual fingers and know whether i'm facing toward it or not as well as a reduction in its lag and better low-light levels for the camera, and a more fish eyed, wide-angle lens like the macbook pro's use for the built-in cameras so I could get close to my TV. Not to mention that the facial recognition is flat out broken (it switched my girlfriend and I mid-game in Kinect Adventures).

Yeah, kinect was made on the cheap. But any camera would have difficulties in dark/light conditions no matter how good it was. Sony's solution of having the move orb controller was a brilliant decision that ms should consider using.

hmm i haven't had any lighting problems and i've played under various conditions. only real issue i have with the hardware is placement. i have more than enough space but the most convenient places to put it the bottom gets cut off a bit putting me right on the edge of "good" distance. so i'm going to play around with solutions

I got it on the same song, but on Hard. Maybe it's "Normal and Above" like some other achievements.

Thanks. I tried it on Medium and 5 gold starred it and got the achievement.

Kinect uses a depth camera ; it's not just a web cam.

That's because it's easy! None of the moves are deal-breakers. I, for one, welcome our new GaGa overlords.

(It's the only song I can do on Hard so far)

woo hoo. 4 stars on Just Dance. It seemed quite about easier than some of the easy songs on the first couple tiers.

although, I gotta say. there were a lot of feminine hip swaying moves in that song. I can see why it might be nice to have a mix of routines tailored for both men and women...

And what? There are also manly fist pumps in a lot of the other ones, and I haven't seen one woman (real or online) say anything about it. Set your pride aside, it'll help with your rhythm anyway.

I don’t care about fist pumps. I just think that it would be nice to have routines tailored for males and females.

as a male, you could still choose the female performance if it was cooler… I’m not talking about blocking off content.

Does anyone else feel that the 'harder' songs are much easier to 5-star than the one's at the top of the list? I'm still playing on Easy, but I'm fairing much better on the latter songs.

You have to do the guide gesture, but it takes like 10 seconds to pause.

(Guide gesture is right arm at your side, left arm pointed down at a 45 degree angle, you should see an icon in the lower left if you are doing it right)

Probably faster to step out of the frame :p

Thanks, but that takes ages (stupid hold to select gesture -- much prefer the DC interface), and brings up the guide but not the dance central pause menu. Definitely easier to walk out of the frame, haha.

No (song list is in the OP) but if you can dance to those, there are some other songs that would probably suit you.
