missed 1 estus shard and 2 ashes :(

Seriously what the hell is up with the droprate of Proof of a Concord Kept. I've had only one drop today with almost three hours of farming. Anyone have a spare mimic head to give?

I got an estus shard from a mimic In Irithyll Dungeon yesterday. And there was an Undead Ash hidden between a tombstone and a wall in Irithyll.

got those >_>

I actually looked at a guide for estus and I dont rememeber missing any of those, driving me nuts. I mean, you cant get more than 15 and +10 anyway so ill just get what Im missing in NG+ but still

edit: oh
wolf knight
was buffed? I used it throughout the whole game heh, ive moved on to
lorian's
greatsword now tho ;_;

Yup, both games.

It was Bloodborne that added a dodge/quickstep option when locked on.

Still there is a difference between the individual Dark Souls games. In one and three, the direction of your roll is restricted to four cardinal directions in relation to to the enemy while locked on, while you can roll In any direction without being locked on. In two, you had the free roll regardless whether you were locked on or not, which I vastly preferred.

As long as they don't nerf the parry window for the small leather shield everything is fine, parrying is ridiculously easy with that shield.

For the giant crystal lizard in Cemetary of Ash I would advise just hanging back and letting him screw himself over. All of his attacks are blockable and have huge recovery windows. Many of them will also whiff if you stay on the move. Definitely worth killing him since he drops 4000 souls and some rare upgrade materials.

Oh, I'm gonna go after him for sure, just wanna progress a bit more before so I got a better shot at him. Same with
Giant Tree asshole
.

Yeah, being able to roll diagonally forward is really useful. Rolling to the side in DS3 just puts me out of range with shorter melee weapons.

Only thing that needs a buff is some of the quirky dex weapons. Scythes, whips, etc.

Magic is a whole different problem.

Spells need a complete triage of spell scaling, spell base damage, ring locations, ring effects, cast times, cast speed dependence on Dex, cast speed capping. It needs so much work right now.

Damn It. Fought y
horm the giant and accidentally had software killed >.>. Sorry buddy, the sword was kind of unintuitive. How was I supposed to know to charge up a weapon art to do anything resembling damage. I've never seen that in the game before now. So pissed he died here because I didn't know how to hurt the giant :/

Even if they buff magic, I'm not crazy about the idea of having mana (OK...focus), and having to chug ashen estus. Using items in this game is cumbersome enough IMO. I'd much prefer they stuck with charges. Ah well, as of now, I haven't used a single spell, heh.

Casual confirmed

Speaking of casual.

I was escorting a host last night, along with another phantom when we both were knocked off a ledge to our death because of a trap, from which both of us thought we did avoid with sufficient gap in between.

The night before was even worse, when we were escorting this gentleman through the catacomb upto the par
t where you have to cut down the bridge,
when for some reason we didn't realized that he got trapped behind. We stood looking at him being slowly slashed to death a crowd of mobs. My fellow phantom jumped to his death in shame and I just silently left via my portal.

I am a good Sentinel I swear ; (

I fought the
Old Demon King
last night and is it just me or is he a shitty boss? I had to kite him with arrows because I couldn't see what the fuck was going on when trying to melee him.

I can imagine playing a heavy character would be hell against him but I melee'd him and had a fast roll and it took me about 3-4 tries.

Different shields have different parry windows? Why have I never known this, I thought it was a generalized mechanic (Aka Parry or No Parry). Mind blown!

I like this game a lot but trying to summon someone is almost impossible.

Also,
skeletons
were attacking me while talking to
Anri of Astora
, so when a blow landed on
her
, the game acted like I had attacked so now that quest line is ruined.

Don't worry, same thing happened to me, all you have to do is to go to the
Undead Settlement to the sewers where the big rat is, and unlock the door leading further into the sewers, to the right you will see a statue, interact with it and get your sins purged (although it will cost 100x your level in souls), but it will allow you to continue the quest.

if you stick behind him he can't do much to you as long as you can avoid the aoe attacks

Small shields, mid sized shield, certain weapons like the katana or rapier and parry daggers all have their own parry windows (small shield and daggers being the fastest). Most are pretty similar but there are small variances

The Princes
fight might be my favorite fight in the series by a mile.

The soundtrack sold me on it.
Add in how relentless Lorian can be with his teleports at times and the discovery that killing Lorian will only buy you time to lay damage on Lothric and you have an epic fight. The only downside would be that it's best experienced in one whole run where you know nothing about the boss going in.

Just defeated HLW in three attempts. Definitely a case of the enemy spooking you into making a mistake & dying but quite easy once you realise it's a case of COMPOSURE REQUIRED AHEAD.

Seriously fuck these gank squads. I got summon twice to be ganked by 3 people, bunch of asswipes. How can From implement a Red soapstone but don't implement a countermeasure to these ganks?

So how does the difficulty compare to the rest of series (including non-Dark Souls series games)?

Depends on your playstyle. If you relied on heavy, high-poise armour and high stability shields in Dark Souls, you're screwed.

If you rolled through everything you'll be okay.

Was in a game last night that balanced this out well. Host + 2 summons, me as a Mound Maker - we would wait for 2 invaders and face off in a giant FFA in a circle. Whatever side started to lose I would flip to to cause more chaos. It was a blast.

Crystal Sage
might be the easiest boss I've ever fought in a Souls/Bloodborne game. I only died first attempt because I stumbled into the room with only a singe health flask charge.

I ditched the heavy armor, went dual wield with lots of speed. Made it super simple to quickly kill all the duplicates firing off spells and then focus down the Sage.

You ever have one of those sessions where every time you get enough souls to level up, or close to, you invariably die? That happened to me like four times in my last session. One because of a fucking invader. I swear, I've never understood the logic behind invasions. Where do you get off popping into someone else's game, who's probably weaker than you, and killing them and potentially ruining a corpse-run? It'd be one thing if PVP was completely opt-in on both sides, but the invasion system is fucked and always has been.

I hate how often the boss fights have either had multiple targets or the boss itself bringing in help.
Abyss Watchers, Deacons of the Deep, Lord Wolnir.
It feels really cheap, I always end up summoning help when that happens.

I'm currently in
Irithyll Dungeon
, about how far in the game am I? Also, I feel like I missed a route to a boss or something in
Irithyll
itself, because I explored the town pretty thoroughly but never found a boss or anything. Feels odd.

As someone who rolled through everything in DkS1 and 2, I can confirm that is not the case. You have to play REALLY conservatively in this game if you're rolling since enemies in general are just a lot faster and more reactive in this game.
