Just helping people with Wolnir and holy shit, I killed him so quick in my game that I never saw him summon that huge ass sword or any skeletons/wheel skeletons.

How is it playing through this game as a magic user? Any thoughts? I never do it in souls games but I'm thinking of making my second playthrough magic oriented. I just worry that it will still be 90% melee. I guess I could use a magic scaling weapon...I think there are those right? Never really looked for it.
I can't wait to jump back in once I'm done with the game. I had zero will after Dark Souls II due to how it didn't have any of the elements of Dark Souls 1 I liked in terms of atmosphere, world design, weapons.
And I know I'm missing a lot of sections at this point, I haven't seen an NPC for basically half the game, so I know that I completely botched all the quests. My Firelink shrine is basically empty with the exception of all the normal NPC's and one chick.
I can get summoned, can summon dark/mad phantoms with no problem whatsoever, but, holllllly balls if I can't get a single fucking person successfully summoned into my game.
a sign calling for help, that brought me with a fight with none other than our old 'friend' Creighton from Dark Souls 2. I guess age hasn't slowed him down one bit.
Well that was a ripoff. Fighting the hardest boss I've come across in this game, and perhaps any souls game, and he glitches through the floor and I won. I feel cheap and dirty.
Also people just don't seem to get it - the majority of times the host just runs into the gas cloud and dies within moments of starting, even though it's not their first time facing the boss.
Also, EVERYONE is using the Fallen Knight Set. So boring. Where is your sense of Fashion Souls!?
I'm really surprised I don't see anyone running around with the Yhorm's Great Machete. I've used it through NG+ now and it seems extremely good. It only has 1 scaling stat so you can invest in whatever you want after you get the 60 STR and you'll be good. I'm sitting at 640 AR right now with the thing and it hits reasonably fast with a large amount of poise. The only bad thing I can think of is it's mediocre L2 and it's bad roll attack, but other then that it's insanely good.

. I was spawned at the very top, the curved rafters. Anyways, the host and a sunbro were there. I decided to run at both and started attacking the host. Had like no health due to attacks before and the sunbro ended up killing me. So I lost.
But! The host then fell off the large suspended rafters and died. This was after I already died. Message came up saying I won and got my medals!
I laughed at that. The host must have felt like a damn fool for falling off.
...although I don't know if it works well in ng but ng+ was a treat. Here was the strategy i wanted to test
Turns out he's really really bad at fighting against high stability shields and a build with enough stamina, it's hilarious, because his attacks don't eat enough of your stamina if you have a nice big thick shield. I just fought him on ng+, and the difference between my first fight and this one was like night and day. He went down like a bitch and I used maybe a couple or more flasks.
So fuck you pontiff, I made you my bitch.
It does require forward planning build wise tho. Enough points in endurance and investing some upgrades in a shield to get at LEAST 60+ stability. Also Chloranty ring doesn't hurt just to get that stamina back. But with that, what was once a super hard boss is now much more manageable
The Halfway Fortress' swamp area is just ridiculous if you want to do coop. Can't even take five steps in peace before someone invades.
I counted last night around 8 invades came in while I helped a guy, and they came in very quick succession too, one after another. That's just ridiculous.

I'm trying for the first time playing pure mage build and it can be done but it makes the game much more difficult and sometimes frustating. Still at the beginning though.
down, first boss to only take me one try so far lol.
I'm so used to fighting humanoid bosses from Dark Souls 2. Love fighting these type of bosses though, hope there's more. No more poison swamp areas though pls.. hate these.

Yeah I tested it and it's garbage still sadly. Huge waste of scales for me
Although mind you, I have no int so it might scale pretty badly with that, but still the damage it does is so negligible compared to most non-boss weapons
I invaded some guy. Broke his guard. I began the 3hit bash of death. His body goes invisibile near me during it. The guy is rolling away from me, and swinging at me while i'm in this animation. and when it finishes, he takes the damages and dies.
The fuckkkk

The issue, and has been the issue with all Dark Souls, is that each type of damage has it's own defense stats. So instead of having all physical + your choice of elemental/magic buff, you're just having to deal with the weapons own elemental damage + physical stats it has.
It's why I've always just gone with physical + magic/item buff, more damage output that way and I get a larger pool of cool weapons I like.
Sorta tired of progressing through the game, though 4 bosses in a day will do that to ya. What are some of the hotspots for PVP and what covenants seem to be the most active? I'm near the end of the game but have only access to Sunbros, Farron, Way of Blue, and Blue Sentinel.
