Finally got all achievements after 2.5 playthroughs. Only took 3 hours from the beginning of NG++ till Seath.
tc farks said:This game really doesn't want me to play it. After my save becoming corrupted I started a new game and played for about 3 hours. Quit through the menu, come back to it, there is no save file. I've tried both hard drives. It's like it never existed. What the fuck I can't catch a break.
DarkoMaledictus said:Lost my save too a while back... restarted with master key, jumped over undead burg, blightown , deeps and glitch a whole lot of souls and got all my weapon levels using the Hawk girl glitch... yeah not proud of it but I wasn't going to restart from scratch!
Took 20 hours to finish the game.
tc farks said:Yeah I was definitely going through the game pretty fast. So losing my 30 hour save was tolerable just because I was on top of Sen's Fortress. So I really wasn't even that far. But I can't even start a new game successfully. Friggen weird.
Btw do you mind telling me how you went through the game for your 2nd time? Since I've already been through a lot of areas skipping some of them is much preferred to me.
going through ash lake at level 10 was a nightmare for me. If you slow down for even a second you're going to be one shot by the hydra there. lol. I probably made it even harder for myself, I refused to use any of the bonfires down there so I wouldn't have to work my way back up the great hollow.DarkoMaledictus said:Sure, the master key
unlocks the gate at Lost ruins, from there you can go directly to blightown and move to the giant three and get the dragon head. Once you have the dragon head glitch to get your levels. Now go back up from the tree and kill that spider queen to rang the underground bell. Make it back up using the windmill. Go back to firelink shrine ad go to undeadburg. Ring the bell in the tower, go back down the tower and unlock the door leading to the basin. From there you can move to sens fortress.
Let me know if you need more info.

Air Zombie Meat said:I think he means the gate at new londo ruins. That takes you into drakes valley where theres an entrance to blighttown.
tc farks said:Oh okay, thanks. So go under Firelink Shrine and find a gate. Do I run into this before I have to fight any ghosts?
Air Zombie Meat said:No, it's before you get to any ghosts. It's up a set of stairs right next to the ones you use to come in from firelink.
tc farks said:Thanks again.

I figured the Darkwraith covenant was like the other PVP ones, use the red stone and it'll sort of randomly throw you into a world to invade. But that's wrong, isn't it? It's like the red sign from Demon's, so the person is voluntarily summoning you right? I had like 4 duel series with the same guy, was very fun. Still..I'd rather do PVP where I just throw a ring on and go about my business and it'll just summon me. I guess that's Darkmoon eh.
Septimius said:You'll soon find that the ring is not the way to do PvP. You'll randomly, and always unconveniently be summoned. If you die, you start at the bonfire, and you've lost all progress.
Darkwraith's Red Eye Orb is just like in DeS - you use it, and it'll invade someone in the area you're in. Nothing volunteer about it. That's the Red Soap Stone found in Painted World.
zerokoolpsx said:So Pharis backstep off a cliff. I don't see her items at her spawn point. Wtf. Her bow gone at least until next playthrough?
Just parry.Johnas said:I like this game.
It's great.
But Gwyn is way too hard for solo melee play, imo.
I have read the wiki. I've rolled around like a monkey. I've tried a (useless) fire shield. I've tried the pillar strategy. I have the stupid fire resistant grim reaper outfit on (which apparently you can't upgrade). Ten hours I've been at this.
Sigh.

Johnas said:I was thinking you couldn't parry a two-handed hit. I'll give it a shot though.

Solo'd the 4 kings. WOOT.
Sullichin said:Parry him as often as you can. The only other time it's safe to attack him is when he's recovering from the throw or the kick animation.
Broseybrose said:Ok guys. Ive got a Scimitar +10 and Quelaag's Soul. You know what I want to do. The option to upgrade to the Fury Sword does not appear when I talk to the Parish Blacksmith (the only BS I have access to). I gave him all the right Items to Ascend.
Any help?
Thanks!Johnas said:Wrong blacksmith. You need the one in.Anor Lando

he flipped the bridge while I was walking across it and killed me, the bastard
Only small and medium shields work. Large shields do an attack with R2. Small and medium shields do a flicking motion. If you time the R2 tap right you deflect the enemy weapon causing them to be stunned for 2 seconds. If you R1 immediately you get to riposte for massive damage.Johnas said:Can you give me a quick rundown on how to do this? I can't quite pull it off.
It looks like I'm supposed to swing my shield at the same moment he swings his sword, when they connect in mid-air it's supposed to stun him? All it ever does is make the "dink" sound like a regular block. I'm using L2.
Do some shields work and some don't? Is there a particular stat requirement? I've tried it with a grass crest shield and a fire knight shield.
Black knight shield is a great shield so I doubt it.Zzoram said:Only small and medium shields work. Large shields do an attack with R2. Small and medium shields do a flicking motion. Crest shield should work. Silver knight shield does too. Not sure about black knight shield.

Leaving a covenant causes you to lose 1 rank in it.worldrevolution said:OK..giant question..
So I've been giving the Chaos covenant crazy humanity for the pyromancy spell, but I've left/rejoined the covenant multiple times as I've progressed. Whenever I amassed some humanity I always went back, rejoined, and gave it to her. I've never betrayed the covenant, only joined others and rejoined multiple times. Does this effect my humanity offered counter? I could swear I've "Ranked up" twice now but I'm still at +1..I'm pretty sure I've only given about 35 humanity so I have like 5 more to go for the spell...or have I been constantly resetting my humanity counter and wasting humanity like a bitch..

Stop leaving. Give her 30 humanity without leaving to get the pyromancy.
Ya L2 sorry that was a typo.Johnas said:Thanks, but did you mean L2? I have a weapon in my right hand and a shield in my left, so I press L2? Is that right?
