I agreed with the guy that it was woke reviewers who tanked Days Gone's review scores but it seems he's still super bitter about the game not getting a sequel despite selling well. Calling Astro Bot a small game is beyond dumb. Having your character be in that game should be an honor.

It wasn't just woke reviewers. The game came out in a rough state. It's a great game now, but that doesn't help review scores and the damage done by negative first impressions.
 
Time for sony to focus on japan developers again, cheaper, more hard working and way more talented. Looking at this tweet, I'm sure most of their western devs' hate on how japan design female chars being one of the reason sony don't want to invest so much on japan. These sony western devs will keep complaining how women chars aren't realistic and japan devs make them look like dolls.

I didn't know about the release state of the game since I played it on PS5 after they released the 60fps patch and I enjoyed the game. I do remember reading reviews at the time that talked about the characters being too white and how some of the dialogue wasn't to their liking.

If Nintendo creates Smash bros and your Nintendo exclusive ass ain't in it, it's an insult.

If it IS in it, you should be flattered.

Does he really think Sony is doing this to promote their game. Hell, I bet most people don't even know who Deacon is. They were doing it to HONOR Deacon, not to use him like a shill. They won't make that mistake next time. You really think Sony gonna make Days Gone 2 now? You screwing that up.

I feel even more sorry for Bend now.

I don't get why he's angry. He should be happy to see his character there next to all these PlayStation icons. In fact, Astro Bot does marketing creating brand awareness regarding Days Gone, which could help a bit to sell Days Gone 1 and maybe make Days Gone 2 possible somewhere in the future.
 
Every month this guy is salty about something to do with his game.

Let it go. It's been 2000 days gone since it came out.

Isn't Bend studio part of Sony? So, what do they need to protect? Does he expect Bend to turn round to Sony and say no you can't use this character?

Loved the days gone, just like I loved OG GoW, but their opinions are often dumb ( still, they are entitled to express them)
 
2 things:

1: he's just salty this game is actually getting praise, unlike his

2: the VA for Deacon announced he's buying the game now just because his character is in it. And that spiteness is hilarious

I mean, no one is talking about Deek anymore. He has zero relevance. There's no "reducing" from zero. He should be glad that at least someone acknowledged that character (which I quite liked in Days Gone).
 
I mean the whole game showcases franchises that were s*** on over the years, so why is he surprised? Should have been given away as an apology but they are charging $60.

His game stinks and he really can't seem get over it. I'm surprised they even referred to it in astrobot. This would be like Nintendo putting an ARMS character in Smash or something and the ARMS guy whining about it.
 
Days Gone is the best modern (PS4 and onward) in-house Sony game and first great open world narrative game. It managed to make an open world worth engaging in when so many have been nothing more than filler. It managed to advance Capcom's stagnant zombie formulas and make them intimidating again. Unfortunate that it's been reduced to nothing more than a reference in flash-in-the-pan Astroturf. He is more than justified in his outlook.

Sony technically does. Outside of some 2nd and 3rd party IP's (like spiderman) they practically own all the IP's under their umbrella.

Iirc that came under light awhile ago, last gen some indies wanted to go with ms because they were more lenient on keeping their own IP's

Yes there was some idiot at IGN calling Deacon out as 'ANOTHER GRUFF WHITE DUDE'……..the idiot being white himself. So many gaming outlets want to virtue signal nonstop as opposed to actually playing the game and being honest about it. Either way, having his character in Astrobot should have made him a bit happy as it lets the character live on in the Sony Universe.
