DC Universe Rebirth Begins This May

I'd be okay with a relaunch. There's a ton of very good stuff that's come out of the DCYou experiment, and they should keep those books (that aren't finishing) and books like them around, but a lot of their big titles (Flash, GL stuff) are in a... not-so-great place right now. So I'd be okay with a general reordering of things, maybe bring the books experiencing the biggest changes back to #1.

But another reboot would be disastrous. I don't think that's what's going to happen here, but it bears saying.

ugh I guess me forgetting that it's called Where's Waldo? in the US and Canada is fitting to say the least....

I'm just hoping they buck the trend of atrocious over-designed costume redesigns that started with the new 52 and continued with the two Marvel relaunches. Please, please, please simplify the costumes.

How is the slaughterh- Teen Titans titles these days?

Greg Pak is taking it over in... I wanna say March?

So future looks good.

No bueno.

Justice League and Justice League 3000 are the only good team books they have that I can think of though. We might actually get a decent creative team for Suicide Squad but I doubt it.

JLA is good too. Omega Men isn't exactly a team book, but it is incredibly good.

As someone who has actually actively been reading the books and didn't come in just to post about how bitter I am about an event that happened 5 years ago, I'm excited to see what they have in store one way or the other.

Crisis in Infinite Hollywoods! All of the film and animated versions of all of DCs characters get together and beat each other to death. When it's done, the remaining victor is Darkseid from Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, and he unleashes the anti-life equation, destroying every DC character who has ever been in a film and replacing them with Geoff Jones, who immediately wills into existence thousands of GL power rings, which causes a rupture in the Multiverse which sucks Grant Morrison through into the Sunshine Superman universe, where Sunshine Superman kicks his head in, causing a collapse of the Morriverse, which drags DC back to the moment before he first wrote Animal Man.

There is a distinct air of "complaining about a company whose books we don't read" in here, I must admit.

Relaunch to follow the tshirt and jeans superman design philosophy

For me DC died with 52. I loved and lived it before the event. Then DC shit on everything and deleted or ruined every character and book I cared about.

Shits made me bitter.
Sadly this was also the case with me. They seem to be bringing some back, but it's just not the same. Probably for the best. I was way, way too invested in the pre-52 Batfamily.

Jonathan Hickman will take over Batman.

Do it.

This is honestly the attitude they should have about reboots. If you are going to reboot something, then change the creative team. If it's the same people from before, then who cares?

It's like when DC originally rebooted, they got Frank Miller/John Byrne/George Perez to reboot Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman. It felt fresh because Miller and Byrne had done very little DC work and Perez had only drawn JLA and Teen Titans and not written anything. It felt like new blood. Imagine if they were like "yeah, we're rebooting Superman but the same people who have written it for the last decade will still be writing it".

I liked the T-shirt and jeans Superman. I was upset when he lost it in Morrison's Action Comics run. Hell, I chuckle at the ass pull story reason he had to give for Clark using the T-shirt and jeans look again after he got his Kryptonian nonsense costume.

T-Shirt and jeans Supes only works when he has the cape, it's top tier. I'm assuming Esto meant the grounded/buzzcut design.

I meant the grounded/buzzcut design :/

It works really well for a lower-key story, even moreso than the caped version.

Now that he's getting his powers back, I guess it does make sense for him to be in the forreal costume, but it's been a great diversion.

Not the characters, all the 90s writers and artists they brought in

Cool, it's Kraven the Deathstroke! Soon to be future classic who puts heroes at his mercy through his mighty flex.

This sounds to me like they're bringing back the pre-N52 stuff and mashing it into one big multi-era ball like Marvel did.

You chuckle but giving Kon the armor and Clark the casual clothes was a great design decision that should have stuck.

No, I mean the current one. Set during the timeskip after the first JL arc.

So... awesome, then?

Yeah I dig tshirt and jeans superman look. Better than super articulation lines armor-man, with kung-fu grip.

So even fans of the Nu52 are excited about it's potential death?

Wonder if we'll be getting any more weeklies that aren't Batman,Bat family or Batmans next door neighbours related. I'd be up for something Green Lantern that didn't end up taking place on or around Earth.

Batman should have 2 books max. His other family members gets 1 book a month. That's it.

I'm sick of all his shit.

Alfred Eternal, coming this summer

I'd read the shit out of that, I love Alred. #partoftheproblem

You don't actually have to read everything though so I don't see how you could be sick of his shit, can't really blame them for capitalising on how popular he and his cast are. I only read the main book, Gotham Academy (<3) Robin and dip into the weeklies every now and again. No Batman fatigue for me.

Said it once, and I'll say it again. There are more Bat characters than normal citizens in Gotham at this point.

A city of justice, a city of love
A city of peace, for everyone of us
We all need it, can't live without it
Gotham City, oh, yeah

Give me a Batgirls book(Barbara, Steph, Cass and maybe Harper)

Fix god awful Selfie Barbara and rebooted Canary

Fix Dick Grayson, Shiva and Tim Drake

Put Earth 2 Helena Wayne back on the main Earth

Fuck Cyborg, put Manhunter back in the JL
