use a 360 controller? lulz. that's your pc support right there. i bet it's not kb/m friendly.
There was TPP game in late 90, early 2000 where You would fight like that in arenas, just cant remember a name right now. It was really fun.

It gets hectic when more than one zombie is attacking you. You really have to strategize a bit when fighting multiples or you will die.

Found first workbench. Some weapons are repairable, some upgradeable and you can create new ones with blueprints and items. Created my first nail'd mod (this mod attaches nails to some of the wooden weapons in the game). This I used a bat.

This of course comes at the cost of money.

Yeah, i'm this close to buying it. I mean an open world zombie co-op rpg with a focus on cracking zombies with melee weapons? I'm just worried about the netcode and performance for the PC version / whether there will be a decent amount of people to survive with.
Yep. Main thing I'm worried about is the pc performance. Have a feeling it may be a busted port.

I think I'm talking myself down from this game. For now. Too many good, cheap, games coming out this month (Binding of Isaac, Clash of Heroes, Ren Ops...)

The developers came out and said the PC version is not a port, but built from the ground up for the PC.

Cool. Glad this game actually has a sense of of challenge. Kudos.

Just tried multi coop. Super fun. I dropped in and the other person was on the same part of the game as me. We finished that quest and when I dropped out, it saved my campaign progress up to that point. Meaning that the quest I was on was complete and I got the reward for it. It also pushed the story up to that point and saved my stats, money etc...

Interesting, so it does take into account what you do in coop, thought I read here or somewhere else that story progress only worked for the host. Thanks for the info ;)

Was there any lag?

No lag at all.

Oh, if you play Xian Mei, kick is really your best friend. Especially jump kick.

Jump kick one, slice it one or twice when down and kick it to death.

Saves on weapon decay. Add the "get stamina back on every kill" skill and you should be good to go. Even with multiples.

I don't like this. Seems like cheating. I'm one of those people who hold onto valuable shit in games because I don't want to use its value before I need it.

*cue the webpage saying not to do that*

Still no reviews outside of that Italian magazine? A buddy of mine is getting this so it looks like I'll probably be getting it too for the co-op. Hope it's worth it.

I read from another dude on the DI forums that that his campaign progress wasn't saved.........guess he was wrong. Great to hear.

I love that even though you can trade or find med kits, you'll end up drinking a LOT of energy drinks to replenish health. Oh, and they are everywhere.

The "kicking" technique really works well for the small peon zombies. but try that on the bigger ones... not so well... actually, it kind of works but takes a LONG time...

I'm playing the PS3 version, and so far it's pretty cool. Haven't found anyone to co-op with yet. Graphics are kinda rough, with jerky frame rate at times, major draw in and some screen tear. I'm hearing that the 360 version looks and performs better; should have went with my gut and bought that one. Oh well : /

Can you still swing/shoot/slice zombies while riding in vehicles (passengers of course)?

I'd like to know this too.

Please tell me you can do this.

Pretty weird and awesome, Gamefly decided to ship this and Warhammer out to me today. Their site says it was released today. Hope they keep doing that. That is also 3 for 3 so far this release "season" for them getting new games to me. Either new shipping center helped them a ton, or they've decided to shoot new customers up the list to keep them for a while, 'cause last Aug-Dec I wasn't getting shit for new releases from them (pretty well sign up every year around this time).

Any way. Hope game is awesome and hope match making works well 'cause I have zero friends who will be getting this.

Just picked this up tonight, thanks gaf for letting me know about the broken street date.

I'm up the the part where you get a car, i'm enjoying this a lot so far. I'm surprised it took this long for someone to make an open world zombie rpg. I just wish every cabin was open.

I did not know this was coming out so soon. The marketing kind of died off after all that intial trailer hype.

Co-op question: Can I freely move, or do I need to be in some kind of radius to the other players? I assume there are "hubs" (like borderlands), not 1 huge open world map like GTA/RDR?

An I heard the whole game levels with you, like Oblivion. True? I hope not, I hope it's more like Fallout 3, where different locations do have some kind of level-range.

what an odd response

Not really. He might not have a PC that can play it, and first accounts seem to suggest that the 360 SKU is in far better shape than PS3. Assuming he preordered, he had to gamble on one. That would be my guess.

Pros
Huge game world
Terrific atmosphere
Weapons modifications
High replay value
Good governance
Tribute to zombie classic
Polyphonic music soundtrack
Successful collection principle
Diverse areas

Cons
Clipping errors
German translation of the weapons
Annoying escort missions
Visible image formation (pop in?)
Risk of an auto-save event (?)
Backtracking

Using google translate. They seem to think very highly of it. 86% is pretty darn good.

Yeah, they mean pop-in. The other one: "autosave trap". If you escorting someone, "wasting" all your good weapons and die (or the guy you need to escort) upon a checkpoint save, all enemies respawn at full health again - so it gets even harder.

I think they mean the game can auto-save in some less-than-desirable spot. Probably right after some hard part starts, instead of before.

EDIT: What Autofokus said, this part talks about it:

So how easy is it to die in this game (to anyone with the game or if the review mentions it)?

Visible image formation = pop in
Risk of an auto-save event = risk of frustrating moments because of the auto-save function. think of an escort mission where your AI partner decides to attack a lot of zombies and all of your weapons broke (because you're fighting, too)...so this game saves, your partner dies and you have to repeat the same scene with the same dumb AI but WITHOUT weapons ...

Ah ok. Thought so.

Still a pretty sweet review. Not sure if I'll get it though. With the BF3 beta and DX3 I'm kinda set.

From my limited exposure to German reviews I think this actually means tearing/v-sync problems, but someone else might know better.

Actually ignore me, I think I have become muddled.
