thats seems to improve the frame rate, thanks. Still not enjoying the combat at all. Just feels sloppy. All movement in this game feels sloppy actually. Not really enjoying the sidequest either, they feel badly put togther as well with bugs to boot. Glad i decided to rent this before buying the pc version.

Maybe the console versions have problems the PC doesn't? I don't know, I put in like four hours tonight and the thing ran beautifully. No glitches, no complaints at all. I'm using the Xbox 360 wired controller and if I didn't know any better, I'd say this game was made for the PC and that control scheme.

I am in love.

Shit gets real when Logan gets a 50% chance for boomerang. Hooooly shit.

Assuming you put all your points into that tree you will roughly reach there only when Act 2 starts, and weapons will be roughly doing ~200 points base damage by then, which is still kind of terrible.

By the start of Act 2, Xian with most of her points in Combat, will get instant knockdown, instant headstomp kills, double damage from jump attacks, +60% from back attacks..... you can see what I'm getting at.

The Dead Island launch summed up in this lil gif.

But it was such an awesome game to play

Played the game on 360 with 3 buddy's last night i wish Techland had more manpower to polish the game. It's fun but it performs bad on 360 and the animations are a mess. The sound bugs are annoying and the game crashed on 3 consoles at the same time luckily the save files didn't corrupt so that we could continue. The core gameplay is fun and nearly all i ever wanted from zombie coop game.

Any good ways to fight Floaters? They fuck me up.

Circle-strafe round him, bash in the back of his head. Run away for stamina boost, dodge vomit. Repeat.

Are you playing as Sam B or Logan? The best way to deal with them is just to shoot them in the head. They're slow so you have plenty of time to line up your shots.

is this a moral quandary quest where you have to separate that man from his beloved barrels? those barrels are clearly very important to him I can tell by his hands.

I'll separate him from those barrels if you know what I mean. Will get this game soon, sounds rike it's right up my alley.

What the fuck is with the shit Australian accents? Is it only in the Australian version or is everyone suffering these horrific attempts? Is there a way I can change these?

LOL. I guess real Australians were too expensive to hire.

I would've done it for free!

*waves at Techland*

The Australian don't even sound Australian; sounds like a drunk American pretending to be a drunk Englishman putting on an Australian accent.

So how many people found Jason Voorhees? I emptied 2 mags from my maxed out rifle into him and he still didn't go down. Once I killed him I ignored his machete and took the chainsaw.

There hasn't been a better chainsaw in gaming since Doom.

Ran into a really anoying glitch where I couldn't switch weapons, this happened when I took control of the Mounted Gun at City Hall... I was mid-mission so I didn't want to do a Hard-reset ( Dashboard and reload ) because I would have to restart the whole fucking mission... so every time I saw a Suicider I'd have to bring up the menu... unequip my weapon then re-equip the gun. My RB button was not broken or stuck because I could still hit the button in the menus to toggle... this game is a buggy mess.

This glitched on me too. I couldn't get off the gun, had to restart the last checkpoint.

Logan is extremely OP to the point of game-breaking if you use the "secret" developer weapons. He can kill any non-special zombie with a single throw, and knock-down + headstomp the special ones aside from Ram. You can unlock the weapons I'm talking about by middle-end of Act 2.

Are you being serious? If so, where did you find him?

North-west of the jungle map, south of the highway.

Probably has the most health of any enemy in the game. He's human, named Jason, wearing trademark hockey mask and machete and shouting crazy things as he slices through a pack of zombies around his house. Once you kill him you can go into his house and find a chainsaw. No swinging necessary, hold down the fire button and zombies get torn apart on it. Great for crowds of runner zombies.

Played first ~2 hours just now. Only tweaks I did was the video.scr editing for maxing out the graphics and vsync on. Game is gorgeous as is, not tweaking the .pak files.

This game is sex. It's the perfect game for me (someone coming off of mainlining MMORPGs for ~8 years). I'm playing with the controller + analog combat and it's fun as hell. I like being able to pick which limb I want to hack off, and a game that is all about melee needs some sort of analog control so you're not just mashing a button.

Have a feeling this will take the frontseat of my current game-queue. Sorry DE:HR, Space Marine, and Witcher 2 ><

I wonder if its a new character and you play as the guy (asshole) in the intro video?

So my friends and I decided to test out the 'open worldness' of the game. I had noticed a building on the map all alone in the later stages of the Jungle area. We decided to go rock climbing. Sadly it resulted in nothing more than missing textures, an empty bunker, and cliff diving.

Also in this same area (on the actual road) just a bit to the north... theres this weird frog-like noise we keep hearing. Anyone else noticed it?

Just got prompted to d/l a 3MB patch on Xbox 360.

Edit: Wow, now I can join people's games properly.

But now instead of showing their status, it just says Version 1.0.0 :/

Any Idea on Patch notes for the 360? The save corruption thing is beginning to scare me.

Had a friend last night who was playing solo and near the end game, who tried to join me, KageMaru, and another friend to pick up a mod he'd missed earlier in the game. Upon trying to join us his 360 hard locks and he has to reboot and now every time he tries to load that character the game hard locks on load.

*edit* Beaten

I found this on D'toid.

i try to use foobar to listen to music on my PC while i play this, but for some reason the audio volume from foobar goes way down whenever i start the game :S is that normal?

Haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary post-patch, people were able to join my game and vice versa, though.

Up to Act III now, lovely looking areas. Thankfully, the undead seem to be more spaced out than Act II :p

Spoiler:
wtf is up with the Butchers?! I hope there aren't regular encounters, it's like a thug that can run :(

This 100%

There is absolutely NO excuse for his game to not have a manual save option. What the hell were they thinking? This HAS to be patched on all versions.

Got this game last week from Redbox with roommate. I was only able to get to Act III. It's a cool concept, but too many problems for me. I wouldn't mind renting this again or getting it for under 20 someday after some more fixes.
