In other news, Winter Showdown DoA tourney is on PS4.

I'm guessing USF4 will be moved to ps4 for any majors affiliated with the Capcom Cup this year, as well.

So...the two new characters in Last Round are both amalgamation characters?

Not sure how I feel about this right now. My initial reaction is that this reminds me of Soul Calibur V having three mimic characters...except not nearly as bad.

Still looking forward to this game, but just wanted to put that out there.

Having been raised all her life by her gentle and loving grandmother, Honoka is a sweet, easygoing kind of girl… but when she sees a fight, she cannot contain her excitement, or the mysterious power surging within her. Honoka has a strange knack for instantly learning any fighting move she sees. She has kept this power hush-hush, but has been itching to test it out in secret.

Honoka studies her favorite moves from various sources and fighting styles, and combines them into a unique style which she calls “Honoka Fu”. Since her build is that of an average teenage girl, her moves, while skilled, may not always pack the same punch as the fighter she learned them from. In her Hissatsu-no-Kamae stance, however, she is imbued with an unbelievable strength and becomes capable of techniques she has never seen from any other fighter.

Well the pink hair had me interested, but it doesn't look like she'll be a character I play. Though I'll still mess around in training, but I usually do that with most characters.

I haven't played all the DLC/new characters yet, but it is looking like Marie Rose is the best new character.
Waiting for heads to explode

Technically the only new character. Everybody else is a modified version of things that have come before.

Makes sense with the demographic they're chasing in Japan, and appears to have been successful.

Well I like to think I am not part of the demographic you are referring to (it would be news to me), but I enjoying using her. She isn't who I main (Ayane), but she probably is tied with Helena for my secondary (is that even the right terminology?).

I'm rather sure that's correct usage in FG context. At least I've been using "secondary" as long as I can remember.

Oh no, I know what you mean. I just meant to say that it makes sense the only character with a unique moveset is the best addition to the roster. :) I don't even like Marie Rose and agree with that she's the best addition to the cast (as far as moveest).

Well, there goes another roster slot that could have been used to good effect if Team Ninja wanted to put in effort. Then again when the people who will be using her are the same fans that spend insane amounts on the dlc I guess I should thank Team Ninja for finding a way to continue the F2P.

Yep the super secret fighter chick Honoka much like her biography, is ridiculous. Considering her small body type - short and lightweight and in age of only 18, having that body figure is impossible. Even in Team Ninja's standard they are on crack.

Most outrageous thing is that Honoka's moves are just a copycat, when we have other copycat characters already. Adding in her uninspired default schoolgirl costume, this character reveal is a big letdown.

Marie Rose now seems like a legit and unique fighter all of a sudden.

How can Rachel be the biggest? Maybe her NG version, but in DOA5 it's clear Tina and Lisa are bigger from a visual standpoint.

I think Japan has this thing for wildly distorted weights, as there's no way any of those weights are right. Especially at the low end; if Marie really weighed that little I'm pretty sure a gust of wind would blow her straight away.

I don't think 86lbs for a 4'10 girl is as rare as you think it is. Aparently 91-115 is considered "normal" for that height. Why couldn't they just make her 91lbs? No idea.

God help me I can't believe I looked this up.

Honoka sounds a bit absurd at 4'11 and 99 pounds but with a 99 cm bust.

However
Hitomi Tanaka is 5'1 and about 103 pounds and she's a 116(!!!).

So...eh..Not outside the realm of possibility.
