Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 - New 4 min trailer

I'm starting to get concerned this is only DOAX2 with new graphics. I was hoping they would fix some of the mini-games to be more fun and on par with volleyball, but everything is looking the same. Beach flag being back is not a good thing.

if there's a demo mode where you just watch them move around, I think that's enough for most fans.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a VR mode rather than the whole game being playable in VR. Oooh, maybe jetskiing can be in VR...

Unrelated, but I actually kinda like beach flag minigame, more than pool hopping at least.

Yeah that's how I imagine it'll work. Some kind of 1:1 interaction photo-mode thing where you can watch the ladies do their thing. If they cut down on environmental detail and keep the character models' quality it should work in VR even on PS4.

Oh god, my serious theory, debunked... wait!

Maybe all the clothes they buy for the tournaments are weighted, but Zack doesn't believe in them, or the weights are too expensive, so the swimsuits he sells on the island don't include them. The fighters have the swimsuits modified when they get them back home.

Such a deep and involving plot!
 
You guys look at this small 4 pages thread and still blame the japanese developers for not localizing the game fearing bad press?
I also want localization of the game, but i think they have the right to decide not to do it.

this was just posted today while at work and most people are posting in the main DOAX3 thread. that's why.
 
The game is getting localized, it just won't appear on many western store shelves.

There are already western stores who take pre-orders for the game and will sell it officially though. Everyone can buy it on PSN anyway. It's basically being sold to us "under the table", for whatever reason.

If that's how it has to be, whatever. I'll take this over something with "localization changes".

They have the right to do whatever they want, but stuff like Senran Kagura is getting localized just fine.

Yeah, I've never been lonely or socially awkward. I'm in a stable healthy relationship. Not sure what is so cringe worthy of this. If you don't like it I get it, but to assert that everyone who thinks this technology is cool is somehow a lonely socially retarded person just makes you pretentious.
 
So many drive-by posts in this thread, which is a shame because it shows people aren't really asking those questions looking for legitimate answers, they just want to make others upset or feel bad for their purchase. However they pose it as a question possibly to avoid being banned for crapping on a thread. When you look at it that way, the posts are almost as bad as drive-by console war posts in a ps4 or Xbox based thread.

Anyway, the game looks good but I'm hoping for a trailer that will showcase the game modes/mechanics in the future. This trailer was obviously a graphical/hi-res model showcase. Their tech looks great. I want to see if they put in the effort to make the volleyball as good as DOAX1.

It's the nichest of niche games, I'd imagine a lot of people who would buy a localized copy are importing anyway so this whole brouhaha is for naught.
 
What kind of red blooded american doesn't want this game? It is our patriotic duty to get this game localized.
 
I'd really be surprised if this doesn't get a US release. Was there backlash after the release of the first two? Of course it was a different time, but I don't remember any negativity...

Hmmm... maybe all the swimsuits sold on Zack Island are some special kryptonite-laced designs that inhibit each of the girls' natural talents in order to create an even enjoyable playing environment for all participants (else tbh, everyone other than Kasumi and Ayane may as well not bother turning up). This would then mean that the costumes they were in the mainline Dead or Alive games, may just be a small selection of replicas of each girl's favourite designs that they encountered on Zack Island. Because these versions aren't Zack Island originals though, they have none of the ninja-inhibiting properties of the ones they were in DOAX games.

Basically, Zack's a fucking genius.
