Thanks to Weggles assistance in co-op, we were able to power through up to Case 5 (I think). Level 24 or something now, and we only died on one boss battle.

That was so fun, been glued to it all night :lol

Also, fuck the
snipers. THEY ARE ASSHOLES

FUCK THIS

I really like this game, but holy christ are the bosses dreadful. Like worst I've ever fought, dreadful.

Overtime spoilers-----

I'm trying to beat TK in Overtime Mode. How the fuck is it possible? I tried just using my fists but it takes forever and I get killed.

*ready to nuke my 360*

I have a question. Do trophies have to all be accomplished in a single playthrough? like do I have to kill 72,000 zombies in 1 playthrough or is it 72K zombies killed total on that particular save file in order to get the trophy?

Grab the lead pipe+wrench and the orange juices+snacks from inside the "flare" areas. Beat his ass with the pipe until it breaks then switch to the wrench. When he jumps off the ledges and disappears thats when you wench the girls up. Aside from that, you pretty much have to get lucky, it's a pretty tough fight.

I love this game. Anyone else just using a single save file? It's bit me in the ass a couple times already, but I just restarted :D. I'm amazed at how well they captured the feeling of the first one... quirkiness and all.

They are super easy to kill :p.

If anybody wants to play some coop tomorrow night, I'm down for helping anybody!

What time is that in Amurican? Cause I played coop with a friend and had a blast. Ran through bosses with ease and trading favorite combinations and hidden stuff was so damn fun. I can't say this enough...but damn this game is good. Just rescued a hostage, and had to hide her in a shop while we took out a psychopath. That giant $1000 slot popped off for 100k for me!!

Yeah, fuck 'em.

You gotta help me tomorrow. I fucked up saving after co-op and saved to my oldest file not realizing what it was asking me. So I think we'll have to fight the one boss we died on again :{

Finally hit Level 50 :D
I was looking forward to getting the last move, but sadly, I was disappointed. :(
Gotta say I liked the move list from DR1 better. The moves just felt more powerful.

Finished the game. I got the S Ranking; that last boss fight was so lame. The Dead Rising Series is one of the best examples of a game that is "more fun than good." I swear some of the gameplay mechanics are just awful.

Somehow, I still find it to be really fun, all the stuff you can do, and the way the leveling system works is a great incentive to keep you playing. I finished at Level 41, and got 51 survivors, I missed a combo card or two from Survivors though. I'm gonna restart it and just screw around and experiment with weapons, money and all the other madness you do other than the Case Files.

Like the original, I'm enjoying it all the way through. Mechanics, insular control method, strict mechanics, etc, it's the type of production I appreciate and respect being made in an environment that isn't really that accepting of things the game strives for.

It's, somewhat appropriately, a high production value, b-tier styled game and that's just perfect for me, considering as far as consoles and handhelds go, b-tier often equals best tier!

Really good release, I hope the series isn't over here.

This is possibly one the game with the most senseless fun I've played in a long time.

I'll be on tomorrow on XBL, add me if you'd might like to play. I'm only level 27 or so right now. GT: Ember512

In Atlantica Casino in that room that has the camera/television equipment, should have 3 people in there.

Is there a certain time that you have to go for this? I went there and there is a poker table but no people.

also :lol wtf i need some help on this boss
Sullivan is a real bitch, am i suppose to fight him hand to hand? I tried throwing a flare at him and that worked once but i keep dying a lot, i might just go around him shooting blindly uncharted style :lol

You're meant to fight him hand to hand, it's a reference back to the last boss of DR1 (which umm, was really not very fun at all). If you attack him with weapons he does an attack that disarms you and kicks you off the structure. shooting him's also a waste of time as you'll need a ton of ammo.

The best thing to do is immediately grab as much of the health around as possible as this is a LONG fight and he gradually destroys it all with grenades. Use any queens you have to clear out the platform up onto the tower, the last thing you want is to get kicked off with 1 health and then get munched on by some random zombie.

Climb up and use the kick move (right trigger + X I think) on him, and it will stagger him. then you can hit him again for a max of around 3 hits. Sometimes they weirdly miss after the first one. Leg sweeps work well too. Use the dodge roll to avoid him all other times. Sometimes he stands by the edge and kicks you off as soon as you climb up. Hammer dodge roll as you climb to avoid this. He also has an annoying power attack that kept taking me down to 1 health so be very wary of that. finally, DON'T heal on the platform unless you've kicked him to stagger him as he seems to do even more damage if he hits you while you're eating
.

the fact survivors all have slightly different personalities adds a layer of depth. The black woman you meet at the beginning cracks me up, if you (or any other survivor with you) accidentally hit her she won't just call you asshole like others do, but she will proceed to beat you with her lead pipe right away :)
Unfortunately i just discovered having more than 2 or 3 following will end up in survivors getting in each other's way and killing each other, plus you won't get mission prompts after a while.

What surprises me about the game is that there's a lot of 'japanese love' put into it. The amount of stuff you can do and discover, the amount of secrets, bonuses, hidden stuff and easter eggs is something you'd expect from golden age japanese games, something missing in todays releases. Of course a lot of this stuff carried over from DR1, but DR2 further enhanced this aspect, while staying true to the original philosophy.

This isn't really true. I've pulled trains of 5-6 survivors several times now, and they always turn out well.

It's true that if you clear all the missions available in a single run, you end up with quite a bit of free time before you get more prompts, but this is a good thing. It means that players who choose to play it this way end up with spare time to explore the mall, and either discover unmarked events (not all survivors and psychos are flagged missions, some are just there for you to discover on your own), or to go gambling, or to go gathering/making weapons and food to better prepare for the next story event.

There's a really good amount of freedom in terms of how you approach the game, just like Dead Rising 1, and that's what makes it really enjoyable for me. :)

I think any time after the start of Case 4.

I've found the more survivors the better. Unless you have 2 or more that need assistance getting around. I've only had 5 the most with me, though. Maybe 8 would be rough.

I've had 7 once but I had the skillbook and it was fine. One thing to note though is that you'll only get survivor mission prompts for up to 8 survivors so if you're roaming around the map with 8 survivors you can't save anymore which could make you miss some :/

How do I install blades or whatever on the motorcycle so
I can beat that punk on his motorcycle,or give me some hints guys hehe
...some poor guy joined my game last evening just a few seconds after that happened...since you have no weapons at all when you join a co-op game,we couldn`t beat him.

Thanks for not getting it to me on release day (PC) Zavvi :(

You won't be able to put blades on that yet. As I mentioned before, I was only able to beat him when it glitched and he got stuck, but someone mentioned earlier that you can wait for him to either hit a wall or barrier or start gloating, then hit him with a ranged weapon or a long melee weapon.

Probably a really stupid question.

But for the PC version, a 2.4 dual core or better is required. If I have a 2.26 dual core, will the game refuse to run?

Has there been any word on the controller patch yet? I have pretty much chalked up the poor performance I was getting with controller enabled to the xbox controller emulator trick that was on the steam forums.

Would xpadder be a work around since it will just map my controller to the keyboard? How does it handle mapping the mouse to right stick, or does it require keyboard camera controls?

Really fun game but I think i'm in the Fun vs Good crowd. Just not neing able to duck or dodge or roll or something is driving me crazy. Also, last night I got the twins battle, but it took forever to get over there and I had to kill a psycho for I basically have ~1 minute to kill one of these bitches when they are cheap as fuck and never slow down or stop attacking. Even though I saved I can't gain 5 levels in 20 minutes so I'm screwed and I think I have to restart the whole game. I think that's my first stopping point because I'm not going to replay the game again from this point when I just got here.

You have to beat him on foot. It's not really hard. Just make sure you have a melee weapon with decent reach (spiked baseball bat, defiler, longsword, etc). You want to let him charge at you, while you jump out of the way. Eventually he'll either hit a barrier/wall and stop, or he'll stop to turn around and taunt you. When he does either, approach from behind (this is important because you can get hit from the front) and do a 2-3 hit combo on him before running away. Repeat and follow the pattern.

Is it normal for the guest in a co-op game to be kicked whenever the host saves? It's happened to me twice in a row now when playing with a friend.

I'm playing on 360, by the way.

Just discovered Dynameat (dynamite + meat)! I like how a lot of the maintenance locations have 2+ items that can be combined in and around them. Oh and the lawnmower/2x4 combo is pretty cool too.

Ok, after watching the first 10 minutes I couldn't resist and went for the Zombrex Edition. Seems to be of similar awesomeness as DR1.

Ijiek, you got me.

Game is great, but the Zombrex Edition is definitely the worst special edition I have bought recently.

There's an LMG with 200 rounds in the nearby vault from the drill mission. I ended up fighting just the blonde around the bar area and it was pretty easy.

Also, the katanas you get after that fight make Slappy easy as hell.

Got it relatively cheap and I want that stupid pen. Also can't be worse than the Uncharted 2 LE :)

So after a few hours of co-op gambling me and my buddy decided to go buy the Knight Boots. And well, they are totally not worth it. Maybe they are part of a larger set of Knight Armor, but the boots themselves do nothing but look huge and make a funky sound when walking. No extra kick power or anything like that, just $2 million worth of shiny silver Knight Boots.

Good thing I didn't keep that save file, I am going to go buy the hummer instead.

I am getting so pissed off. I pre-orderd the collector's edition from Best Buy and they still haven't received it in yet. And now Castlevania and Enslaved come out next week, so where am I ever to find the time, once the game comes in?!
