I'm getting much better performance than you with an E8400 and HD4850 on Vista @ 1360x768+8xMSAA+16xAF.Easy_D said:So I got this for PC now and installed it, surprised to say the performance is nothing what I expected, I thought it was a solid port ): getting sub 30 at times.
Specs, you ask?
E8500 C2D @ 3.3 ghz
HD Radeon 5870
Win 7.
I guess my puny dual core can't handle the game, ammount of zombies on screen doesn't seem to make a huge difference though.

Suairyu said:So about this game being too easy - it is. Except for the psychopaths. They're much harder than in the first game, mostly due to an elevated cheapness factor.
A good example is the chef, who can wail on you whilst you're down, preventing you from getting up again. Had a full health bar and was reduced to nothing because of that. Usually-damaging weapons also bounce off these guys like they were rubber - Blambow does so little damage to psycho's that I question its worth as an inclusion in the game; it's certainly too fiddly and time consuming to make to justify its use on the regular horde.
Also, fuck the groom.

Ranged, exploding attack. I was just experimenting after being frustrated by Slappy and his ranged, exploding attacks. Wasn't worth the trouble : (KibblesBits said:Why would you use a blambow on a psycho?
Light Machinegun + BikeKibblesBits said:If you're holding an object that can combine the option will come up when you walk over to the bike. I currently know of two, maybe three now.
Spraypaint + Bike
Chainsaws + Bike
Blue Rabbit + Bike
I get the feeling that's more to do with the fact she has a small amount of voiced lines, rather than any excellence on the behalf of the writer or actor.dallow_bg said:Pretty fun. I like Chuck a lot, more than I expected. And the little girl isn't annoying like most kids in games.

Ah, thanks. I'd been avoiding getting in close and emptying clip after clip of ammunition into him, only occasionally daring to thwack him with the spiked bat (my most used weapon, really) when he got close.NIN90 said:Stun him by jump kicking him when he is rolling around

Thank you kind sir, disabling the blur helped tons, not perfect but it doesn't dip anywhere as much now, what's weird is that it's more prone to dipping low in smaller areas, huge open ones with tons of zombies work just fine .Suairyu said:I'm getting much better performance than you with an E8400 and HD4850 on Vista @ 1360x768+8xMSAA+16xAF.
What settings and resolution are you running with? Disable blur, if you haven't already.
Other than the "hack it yourself" 360 controller support, the port seems completely rock-solid to me.
What level are you fighting Antoine at? I didn't fight him for the first time until around level 30 and I made short work of him. Wolverine Gloves and MMA+Nails gloves and some healing items are what I brought, and I had no trouble at all.Suairyu said:So about this game being too easy - it is. Except for the psychopaths. Where are the gambling mags at?
And do you have to keep the other magazines of that kind in your inventory for the better one to work? I was never really clear on that. :lol

Agreed, really reminded me of my own mail man - the ending of that scene is pretty hilarious as well... I thought slappy's introduction when he hovers over you is also pretty amazing.Ferrio said:Mailman is the best psycho by far. That opening part where he's trying to get a package signed makes me laugh my ass off.

Lvl 18. Beat him on my third attempt by taking three bottles of orange juice and a spiked bat. Brute forced it, really, which I'm loathed to do but there you go. Honestly, it's not about the fact he was a challenge - I like that; fighting psychopaths once high-levelled wasn't a great pleasure for me in DR1 - it's more that you can get stuck into animation routines with him as he frying pans you from which you cannot escape and, even with a full health bar, you are fucked.Darkshier said:What level are you fighting Antoine at? 2nd floor of Palisades mall, close to the Atlantica Casino exit.ezekial45 said:Where at?
Second floor Pallisades, if I remember correctly. The first time you go there you will have to clear out a ton of the looters, and if they knock you unconscious you'll wake up completely stripped of clothing and inventory in a bathroom a few stores down.ezekial45 said:Where at?
I thought you could fire with the right trigger like most tps games.Suairyu said:Second floor Pallisades, if I remember correctly. Actually on that note, having dual-stick controls for the guns but then keeping 'fire' assigned to the X button is frustrating. I'd really have preferred they kept the game balanced for RE4-style stop-and-aim shooting if they insisted on using the X button. As it happens, the firearm enemies practically demand you successfully strafe and aim with your thumbs, then launch a finger over the grips to hit the face button in some amazing display of gung fu padwork.

Erm, yeah. That was my first instinct. Every now and again I pull RT out of reflex and curse as Chuck does nothing. PC port, here. Might have to fiddle with the .ini files again to see if the controller hack got something wrong : (duckroll said:Huh? When you're aiming with firearms you can shoot with both X and RT. Funny thing was, I was still finding the game too easy despite having to use a face button to shoot. My god, the case files are going to be an even fresher spring breeze if I get this working.

I've tried it both ways. Standing in front of them and throwing them, either way she just lunges straight past them. :-/Strummerjones said:Do not throw them! people keep saying this, but it's wrong. Just press down to drop them on the floor. Make a little pile of them and stand on the opposite side. Easy.
